@@ObsidianLife why would you assume anything about what she said? Especially in a comment to a video about Howard Jones who was the king of synth pop in the 80s 😂 If someone isnt finding what they want from mainstream music the easy answer is look elsewhere. Youre asking me to "think more expansively" but at the same time contracting your assumption to "mainstream" music. 😂I dont need to think "more expansively", my music choices are full of actual musicians from ancient music thru today, thru multiple genres and cultures. There is plenty of good music out there. All that said even most mainstream music is well-crafted by people who know what theyre doing. Whether you like it or not is a different story.

Back in 86 I was living in a condo with another guy and a girl in Dillon Co. The girl roomy scored some HoJo tickets at Red Rocks and she asked me if I would go with her. I wasn't really into pop music at the time but I told her I would because I had never seen a show at RR. We got there and the whole amphitheater was nothing but girls and as you know for an 18 year old I was in heaven. HoJo comes out on stage and proceeds to put on one of the best choreographed concerts I have ever seen. It was truly amazing and the music was top notch. That day I became a huge fan and it's still one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I bought his greatest hits CD and still listen to it to this day as it brings back really good memories of a more simple time in my life.
