Your point is 100% valid Ben. Jeep has totally lost its way. As you were explaining what you thought this might cost, I was yelling out $35k like it was Family Feud. The Wrangler used to have the highest resale value, but asking $70k for this is a certain way to wreck the resale market and burn bridges with your customer twice on the same purchase.
I would like for you to do a video where you compare what else you can get for $70k.
We will see this 2025 on sale in 2027 for $45,000
Yes Totally agree with you, I’m starting to believe that Jeep is too far gone.
When you say a price is too high, it must be really BAD.
$70k is outrageous. However, you can find many 4XEs selling around the country for $20k+ off MSRP. Don't buy one of these without looking for a discount of that magnitude. Even non-4XEs are being discounted routinely at $10k or so. I bought a well equipped non-4XE Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited for $12k off back in Oct. (about $52k).
70K for cloth seats and a 22 mile electric range ha ha ha no thanks I'll pass.
Just ordered a Wrangler Willys 2 Door V6 Manual in this colour with the convenience package / soft top and paid $50k CAD ($35k USD) out the door. Still feel like I overpaid by $5k USD which is crazy.
70k oof...
It’s insane they’re still trying to sell $70k wranglers… They obviously are going under based on the last 4 years of sales. Yet they won’t change their MSRPs…
They done lost their damn minds. (And all their customers too by the way)
When you alienate your customer base, hard to get them back.
Here’s how Jeep should market the wrangler, yes it’s shaped like a brick so high winds might cause you to get pulled over for a possible DUI, yes it’s slow and the fuel mileage is laughable and it rides bad, but if you use it for its intended purpose it’ll be one of the most fun vehicles you ever have. It’s not about gluing rubber ducks to your dash or spending thousands on a lift and big tires that will never see anything but pavement (although they do look cool) if you’ve never had to pull the plugs out of your tub from being caught out topless in a storm or washing out mud you got no reason to own a wrangler.
RIP wrangler, it died a few years ago due to stellantis
Idk man, Ive driven a lot of cars for work when I travel, that 4xe Rubicon was the most memorable and fun car I got to drive. They are doing something right
@@steve-uu6bb I have a 392 and it suuuuucks to daily. 😂 They're rough, twitchy, weird electronic bugs... They're fun for short or off-road trips, but daily on the pavement is exhausting. We did a road trip in it and we all wished we took my truck for 4 hours in it.
@scottleggejr I've contemplated replacing my 2016 Cherokee with a 2024 4xe but I have reliability concerns with it. But new it's great
@@steve-uu6bb agree. My FIL has one and it's been in the shop for major power train issues on the hybrid. It's gotten two batteries under warranty and he says "this is going to be good now" every time like we all would hope. 🤣 The 4.0 without the E is a great engine. The 3.6 is a dog at freeway speeds but boost fixes it's sluggish ways. They encrypted the ECU so you can't add boost to the 3.6 or tune or cam any jeeps so you get what you get... The 4.0 with boost is a great engine for drivability and fuel economy. Long-winded "I agree" 😁
@@scottleggejr yea I was super impressed with the power of the 4xe, the regular v6 sucks. Bummer they aren't super reliable
And Stellantis wonders why none of their products are selling. It's a really pretty lot rock. Love the color, and particularly those wheels, but you'd have to be insane to pay that amount of money for that Wrangler. Smh.
People were buying their Jeeps with a huge markup just 2 and 3yrs ago. Everyone got raises, other expenses went up, and now people aren't buying.
Paint matched wheels and badges for 10k. You could get a set of methods, have them powder coated, bumpers and call it good for 7k less. No wrangler os worth more than 60k and thats the 392...
I will just continue to drive my 2018 wrangler 3.6
I'll stick with my '74 CJ-5
2002 Wrangler TJ, I paid 19k, brand new almost base model and absolutely loved it, drove it straight to 2015, over 200k miles on it, traded it for a brand new almost base 2015 Wrangler (paid 24k) which I only kept for two years, the thrill was gone! I agree with you, Jeep has lost touch with it's base line customer, especially now with the high prices. I've owed 1986CJ, 1995, 2002 & 2015, now I'm old and just drive a Cross Country Volvo... LOL.
Jeep has lost their mind! Knock 30 grand off the price. 💯💯💯
They should have a 60 mile all-electric range, that would be enough for most peoples day to day needs. Also says lux brand but has manual cloth seats, no turn signal on mirror and many other issues
Sticker shock is no joke😂
SEVENTY GRAND!?!?!...DAMN!!!!
i leased a 4xe with msrp $62k in october, the deal was that I would make one $600 payment and then pay off the balance which was only $36.5k. So the whole vehicle out the door was $37k. Now, i didn't get to claim the EV credits due to the lease. But it was still a great deal. So it seems jeep prices are like RV prices or Hospital prices-- just a suggestion.
JEEP HAS LOST IT'S MIND, I have a 2019 Rubicon, 8 speed automatic, 3" Mopar lift, 35s Nitto Grapplers, leather seats, dual exhaust, upgraded steel bumper, winch, bull bar, with foglights, and I won't take anything for it. Knock on wood, ZERO ISSUES TO DATE AND IT HAS 101K MILES & STILL A STRONG BULL.
This "Jeep" is perfect for a girl who lives in New York City or Beverly Hills.
I wish it had an "old school" price.
The best wrangler ive seen other than the green high altitude. Finally brown interior jesus
The wranglers and Gladiators are nice, but not 50, 60, 70 grand nice. Get real. The first manufacturer to make a reliable offroad capable utility vehicle, low on gizmos and gimmicks, under 35 grand will sell many of them
So Jeep has learned nothing while giving the same pathetic electric range.
They also lost contact with QC. They are just dragging jeep's corpse though the mud at this point.
I find the "we just want a cheap reliable off-roader. Jeep make this!" kind of baffling. Jeep does make that!. The sport 2door is 32k. If that is what people actually wanted they would be flying off the lots.
As far as whether Stellantis has lost touch with reality. Well, I am sure some analysts would agree based on the fact that they have kept the wrangler a body on frame, live axle, box. The vast majority of consumers don't want something like that. They, however, continue to make the Jeep easily up gradable and true to it's origin. I think they should get some credit for that.
Exactly. Like, there is a guy in these comments waxing poetic over the good ol' days when he bought his brand new 2002 TJ wrangler for $19,000. If you put that into an inflation calculator, that price was the equivalent of $33,130 today which shows you that Jeep is still building the same affordable option for those who want it.
The one observation that I would make, though, is that Jeep doesn't really build many of those for dealer stock. They mostly build these expensive variants with padded profit margins. The cheap basic versions actually do fly off the lots on the occasions when the dealerships actually get them! If you want a basic, inexpensive wrangler, your local dealership probably doesn't have that in stock and you are going to have to place a custom order for one and wait for them to build it for you.
We leased a 2024 Jeep Rubicon hybrid and we can’t wait to let it go back to the dealer.
Truly not what people want no body want small engine no one care about the touch screen and the overprice either I agree with you 👍
Ben your so right and tell it like it is !!!!!!!
70k is crazy. And ypur right everyone liked the TJ 4.0
They are WAY Overpriced!
They should just put the 5.7 in it already.
I’m currently in the market for a new Wrangler, and the history buff I am would love to have one with this package.
But I absolutely refuse to have an electric vehicle, and I think I share that sentiment with a lot of people that work be interested in the ‘41 package.
That’s exactly where they’re out of touch with the customer base.
Lose the hybrid, and put a 3.6 in it, and I'll but it!!!
Agreed I like the gladiator it still has the 3.6 but still overpriced. I bought one in 2021 trying to look at new models but they are ridiculous
seen some used 23 model sahara 4xe here in Dallas for low 30s and they are mostly old rentals cars.
Truth! Enterprise is selling 23s with 50-55k miles for $25-30k. Some Gladiators same age/mileage for $30k.
Nobody should be paying anywhere close to MSRP for a Jeep. They are routinely 15-20% below, especially as the new model year rolls out.
I could afford it BUT it ain't worth that. Won't be buying anything that expensive. Especially when I would be bouncing this vehicle over rocks and across deep streams.
Should be a 2 Door.
People can't afford your cars car prices are ridiculous
looks great, but wow, ditch the complex powertrain and high price.
$70,000.00 is how far Jeep has lost track of their customers, as I can't believe that vehicle is anywhere near what customers want. I have three Jeeps, two that are early 2000's TJ's and a CJ-7 that I have made extensive changes to, but I spent the money for rock-crawling and sand dunes running, and that's not what I am looking for ...
I would really like a basic jeep that I can customize, but don't try to be a luxury on-hiway vehicle, as I already have that in my Rivian and don't want a new jeep to ever be compared to my wife's Evoque or my Rivian as trying to be that class of cars will be the downfall of Jeep...😢
Sup Ben!
I don't hate the product, but it is literally twice as expensive as it's worth. For $35k that's worth considering.
Jeep has lost their minds! 70k will NOT sell! 😂
All manufacturers should offer a base model. Not everyone wants a mall crawler
They just need to add more bells and whistles and it will worth $70k
What are people looking for?? NOT a $70k Jeep😂😂😂👎
I paid that much for one with cloth seats 😳 in my defense it was a Rubicon Xtreme Recon but still
Stellantis purposely said they were going to move Jeep up market and said they were becoming a premium brand and we’d going to move into the higher level market. At least price wise, they stepped solidly into it. You can also argue they are doing it content wise as well. But there is an aspect to moving up market that has consequences. As you move up market, the pool of people available to buy your products shrinks. And the premium market as far as off road and 4 wheel drive is concerned is a crowded market with a Lot of established players who also have a pretty solid customer base to tap into who can pay their asking price. As Jeep moves up market, the demographics of their market changes as well. Those customers who would pay $45,000 for a Jeep shrinks quite a bit when they are now asking $55,000 to 75,000. The question then becomes are there enough new customers out there willing to pay the higher prices to replace the ones left behind when you left the $45,000 market price point.
It does not matter how much I like that new Jeep, Tesla or Ford. I I am not willing or cannot afford to pay the new higher prices, I won’t be driving out of the showroom with the new more expensive jeep.
70k for any truck is insane. People need to stop supporting this uphike. It's not a 70k vehicle. Maybe 40. It won't last 4 years.
They literally build a Jeep like that. You go get a specialty badged unit with 4xe and then complain is more expensive. Then complain that it doesn't have leather seats? You're all over the map. Btw some people prefer cloth seats.
Well i have a 76 cj and a 24 wrangler. I will always have a jeep in my garage. Every vehicle has gone up in price. Go price a new truck and see what i mean
For $70k, I'd rather buy a lifted GMC Sierra Denali, with $20k left to spare.
45k is silly high much less $70k is outrageous i never bought a jeep jeep why to high
$70k for a, pretty much, base model Jeep. I bought my house for $57k and still in it 30 years later. I’m sure this $70k Jeep won’t be around in 30 years. I never understood the Jeep hype. Was never a fan.
jeep got so stupid, they could throw a rock on the floor & miss!
wtf ! I was in the market to purchase a 2025 wrangler, than I saw 35" tires with a 4 cylinder
I was shocked & laughed my way out while smacking my forehead saying once again, WTF
I couldn't believe it Ben! Jeep my fav! & they lost me!!!!!! good buy, Bronco watch out.................
nyc
Does jeep make the 41 Willy’s in 4x4 or only 4xe?
4xe only
They offer the color in sport, Willy's, Rubicon in 4 door and 2 door, but no color matching wheels or tan interior seats.
It’s worth $45k maybe.
no way
The Willys '41 should have been available in a 2 door.
It is in Canada. Just ordered one with the V6 and manual, soft top, convenience package. Just under $35k USD out the door.
THEY ARE CRAZY. $70,000 for a Jeep..... I can get a 2 year old tesla model Y for $32k
70 grand for a willy's. Definitely out of touch. I could buy a pro 4x for 50 or a santa cruz for 40. Maybe not hard core off readers but reliable transportation unlike jeep. I have a 2020 rubicon that took new batteries, new hood and new doors while only having 36000 miles on it.
70K 😳
Who wants tan seats? Not me!
They are selling these on government credit lease deals makes no sense to finance these cars
5.7 hemi in it and I’ll even pay 71k tbh
70k ridiculous
Fools, i guessed 70k before i even clicked this video. Much more reasonable would be 55,000 or so imo
put a v8 in it with no lcd screens a gear drive t case
pricing there self out of business
I get a premium for a cool capable jeep but for me it’s max 60k cool max
In 20 years, when .........
They should’ve done this without the 4xE
Sorry SHOULD’NT HAVE
unfortunately, Thats's why it's more expensive
Economy car interior. Horrible reliability. Outrageous price tag. Nope
70k…😂😂😂😂😂
Land Cruiser much better
I really like this jeep but I am not in to Hybrids.
No one is paying 70 thousand
More like Toyota lost its touch
Jeep is always need much maintains
What a disappointment, they've learned nothing.
Oh Hell No $70,000👎🏻
Why are you always crying in your pic, but yet you clean shaven with hair, video shows you as some guy looking for a hot meal.
No Thanks! Not a fan of the jeeps hybrid.
for crying out loud...speak slower. Why do you insist on talking so fast. You aren't getting paid words per second.
I'm glad what jeep put Hybrid in there suv love the army green color
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Clean
2025 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL Sport S Willys 4XE Willys 41 Special Edition Olive Drab 41 Green Limited Edition 4-Door!
What a bunch of babbling.
omg
Junk
Unless you've driven one of the hybrids longer than a test drive or rental, you don't know what you're talking about. 375 hp with 470 lb.ft of instant torque will smoke any other Wrangler except 392. But can the 392 do 30 mpg average hwy+city ? Nope. Nor can it go stealth mode in the woods. Perfect bug in/out vehicle. Don't hate cuz you dont know what ur talking about. 😂
You got me on that point.
Ice engine owner here, maybe I would change my mind if I drove one long term, but 70k, way too rich for my blood.
@lj33p it's not for everyone, especially at that price. Jeeps are tools, most don't use 3% of their capabilities. I'm a prepared citizen and for going offroad quietly/discreetly while having a powerful generator on wheels when you need it for off grid work, you just can't beat a 4xe Wrangler.
Lose the hybrid, and put a 3.6 in it, and I'll but it!!!
