I can't imagine that fault was found with anyone. Any more "spit and polish" and they would shine brighter than the sun. I only have a tiny bit of English/Irish/Scottish in my family but these folks thrill me from head to foot. The USA folks should take lessons.❤👍 PS -- Loved seeing the sheet music. Just playing it requires skill and talent. I can't imagine how they march/play/breathe/etc. Very impressive‼️👍
We ran them out of New Orleans too... more accurately St. Bernard Parish - a shame really. The English were the only class and refinement to have ever been there. Now there's just Rocky & Carlo's, Chef Menteur Hwy, and an assortment of hot sheet motels that charge by the hour...😜
@@baronedipiemonte3990 Whenever I see anything about New Orleans "culture" I can't help thinking about Louis Malle's highly controversial 1973 Movie "Pretty Baby" about child prostitution!! Would never get made nowadays......

What daneel says is a good place, got a little bit of height there as well so can video over the top of the crowds, it can get a bit windy there though. I recommend the following site, gives good information about Changing the Guard, including dates and bands taking part. changing-guard.com/dates-buckingham-palace.html
The 'Ammo Boots' that many wear on parade frequently have small steel cleats at the toe and heel of the sole, to protect against wear - that makes the sound you can hear
@@robertparker7243 have the 17 studs been removed now? but it was the heel that made the noise and helped keep us in step. when you heard one single "crack" from a platoon of over 40 you felt good.
The Household Cavalry is made up of two regiments, the Lifeguards and the Blues and Royals. The Lifeguards are in red and the Blues and Royals in the dark uniform. They usually appear on horseback but when taking part in the changing of the Guard they are on foot.
Pourquoi ils ont toujours des casques qui masquent presque leur yeux et la lanière sous les lèvres au lieu de sous le menton, j’ai jamais compris cet inconfort ….étonnant
The household Cavalry comprises of 2 regiments, The Lifeguards and the Blues and Royals, the band is an amalgamation of the two regiments and each regimental band retain their own uniforms. The Lifeguard's in red and the Blues and Royals in black. I believe on ceremonial occasions like in the presence of the Queen or other members of the Royal family the band will all wear their golden state uniforms, I think.

Excellent musicians I dare say
Always makes me smile that an officer has someone else to sort his uniform, then inspects soldiers who have to sort their own kit.

Seeing them all pile out of the clown bus and putting on their helmets kinda kills it for me.
Why do the Household Cavalry wear their Spurs when not riding ?
What do they wear on their feet to make their steps so loud and clicking?
Spurs

Since the Queens primary residence is no longer Buckingham Palace will there still be this elaborate changing of the guard ceremony?

Who inspects the guys doing the inspection......
Inspection is really about looking into the eyes of the people you are just about to command to die, and about their looking back at you.
Nobody, they don't do their own kit anyway, they have orderlies that do it for them who are Guardsman, they get paid for this though.
They are trained to be immaculate !
