I want to clarify a little on the issue in case you guys missed some of my previous videos on the issue. The bike would not totally lose power when hitting the bump. Just the engine. There was no fluctuation in power on the battery. The display stays lit, and all lights stay on, and the battery stays at 14 volts. I also keep it in a battery tender while parked. The battery has been ruled out and I have sense gotten a new bike. I'll be making an update video shortly

      @@jesuscanizales2551 Everything has faulty units.
If you want the bike get it.
You can get a cheaper, plastic feeling cruiser with less power and budget parts but it’s more reliable.
Or you can get a power cruiser with more power, more high end components, features and it’s slightly less reliable. More prone to working out the bugs because of everything packed in to it. Big tires, brembo brakes, a sport mode that will have you sliding seat ect.
It’s always been that way. If you want a super reliable car you get the Toyota Carolla, not the ScatPack or 5.0 Mustang.
If you want a cruiser comparable to the Sportster S like a Diavel, M109r or something, you’re going to pay roughly the same price.
The Rebel and Vulcans are cheaper for a reason.

    Hello Brandon
I have also had this issue with my Sportster and I have only done 250 miles on it. I have just had it returned to me and I have been told it was an O Ring on the fuel line that had popped out. I have just been out for a test ride and all is fine. on my very first ride I noticed that the bike was surging but when I consulted the dealer they said it just needed time to bed in.All I can say is that they were wrong there must have been a fault from new as now it runs realy smooth so I am hoping that its now cured.

I also have a Sportster S and I experience battery issues : ignition difficulties despite the battery is fully charged. I strongly suspect the battery to be under-sized on this model. I plan to replace mine by a more powerful one (higher CCA). Could this be the solution to your recurring problem ?

This Happened to me on the day I picked up my new sportster s. I was riding home from the dealership on the highway doing 100km/h. It’s still in the shop at Harley now and bike still won’t start

My HD Pan America died the other day with the check engine light on. I noticed previously that the oil level was low. It started again, I limped the two blocks home, dumped in half a quart of oil and voila, problem solved. I bought the bike used but Certified Pre-Owned from a Harley dealership. They didn't put enough oil in mine or it burns oil--there are no drips in my garage.

I'd definitely keep an eye on the oil level. A good tech should check their work, but mistakes do happen. Let me know if you have any more issues!

Fuck that if I spent all that money on a brand new bike and it constantly kept doing that I would lose my shit

I'm sure your bike is pretty new but I'd look at all the wiring to and from the battery for a parasitic drain. If that's not an issue I'd go with a battery with higher CCA and a lithium one at that.

Keep it on a battery tender

Hey Brandon, ever find the true issue to why it kept doing that to you?

    • @brandondoesbikes

They never gave me a reason but my theory is something happened to the top end of the motor initially. Maybe silicone from the manufacturing process dislodged and clogged an oil passage. Once the engine was replaced, I belive that a wire in the traction controll harness frayed, either due to the tech that put it back together, or just because of bad sheilding on a wire. Either way, I'm not blaming anyone, but the result was wheel spin or the impact of bumps would kill the engine completely while leaving everything else in regards to the electrical system powered on. Under normal circumstances these situations would cause the engine to reduce power momentarily while regaining traction. This short would most often show itself after washing the bike. That's just my theory and it makes sense to me. Especially since I haven't had a single issue with my new 2022 model.

I owned a 2019 ftr for a riding season. Horrible fueling and dieing issues to the point it was unsafe to ride. The dealer ship said they are tunned to lean from the factory. So a 500$ tuner later and the problem didn't go away. Now I've got a 23 sportster s, 1000 miles and zero issues.
