If we get JPJ or Frasier today our line will be set for a while. This year’s training camp will be very interesting

plenty of time to determine who plays where but it seems to me that if Fautanu was rated higher than B Jones coming out, then Fautanu should stay at LT and Jones at RT. Time will tell

My favorite clip I remember seeing was him mirroring spin moves with his DE........ This dude is going to start day 1. Period.

As someone who got to call plays at the HS level, & coached various offensive positions at the small college level, I absolutely love this kind of stuff.
What I don't love is Pat Meyer's hyper-aggressive coaching style & the inevitable atrocious o-line play as they adjust to this technique. Look at the metrics the first 4-6 weeks the last 2 years, they always start as a bottom 2-3 OL & end up slightly above average. It's been yet another reason why the Steelers end up needing help to get into the playoffs every year. 1 year is concerning, 2 is a trend, 3 will get you fired mid season, but he'll have the young guy excuse so idk why I even complain.

Troy looks like a day 1 starter. From the video I think he might be better on the left to protect the QB. But it depends on who can make the switch since we have 2 left side tackles. Great breakdown, Alex.

      @NeweraGolf หลายเดือนก่อน +1

He’s a 5 year guy, not nearly as raw as Broderick was, so I’d imagine w his footwork he’ll have a easier time making a switch to that side

Seeing a lot of people suggest that him being an LT in front of a left handed QB suggests he’d be better at RT in front of a right handed qb, in both instances he’s protecting the QB’s front side

Crossing my fingers that they are able to get a centre tonight. As good as this kid is, if we can't get a good centre, things could get messy in the middle. Thanks for your tape breakdown

Thanks so much! I'm quickly becoming a huge fan of Fautanu. Did not think he would be there at 20, so I didn't really have a good feel for him.

He does look good. Now if he can do that on the right side? We will find out! Thanks Alex!! Can't wait to see who they get tonight!

Had a Lefty QB so he will be on the right side with a Right hand QB.

@@Cody435not necessarily he’s still gonna be front side tackle so the same technique just opposite side of body.

Brittany…er uh…Alex, on the clip vs. Oregon, time index 3:47 to 4:53, it isn’t a complete win for Fautanu. If you look closely, the pass it tipped at the line by Fautanu’s assignment. So, he did a good job…until he didn’t.

Hey Alex I'm wondering how difficult a transition from LT to RT would be for Fautanu given that he played on Penix's front side at Washington.

Franchise did exactly same thing in '24 draft as '23...
Hype up the potential day #2 pick as a potential day #1.
Oh, Joey Porter will be 1st round choice.... So when he was obtained with 2nd pick... Look like geniuses...
'24... Zack Frasier as potential 1st round... Of such geniuses getting him day#2..

Hey Alex, what concerns me the most is that Omar & Tomlin didn't even say Yes he is a RT, they just said tackle. So now we have 3 LT's and one of them is going to be mad because he will be stuck being at RT. All we got is a athletic band-aid for a first round pick.
Thanks Alex you have a wonderful day!

I'm not sure what to make of it. They still might not be 100% sure which way they're going to go until they get Fautanu into rookie minicamp/minicamp and evaluate from there.

I just haven’t been impressed with the film I’m seeing from Fautanu. It feels like oftentimes he backs up so far in his pass sets that he’s starting the engagement with the defensive player almost right in the QBs face. He also doesn’t finish blocks in his pass sets, often just shoving the pass rusher then failing to even engage on the rusher’s second attempt at a rush. There were a few plays where Fautanu was completely turned around facing his QB looking around for rushers. He’s definitely athletic enough to be a tackle, and he’s squatty so he naturally wins leverage battles. I hope this pick works out. I’d keep him at LT and see if he can work some of these issues out and hope the learning curve for Broderick at RT is nearing its end.

I would draft Fisher and put. The small F’er at center. Fisher is a right tackle and you have a good line Jones to left. Fisher right and Fautanu at center cause the rest of the centers in the draft are not to good. Including JPJ and Frazier they are not good climbers and pullers. Look slow as molasses.
