Dude got pancakes on nick bosa and maxx crosby, consistently linked LBs and DBs on downfield blocks, and that push to the end zone from him and the other tight ends in the Seattle game was maybe the coolest moment this team has had on offense in a long time.
265 is awful light for a 6-7 guy. He’s about 80 pounds south of a legit tackle. He’s a spectacular blocker for what you expect an in-line guy to do and that’s enough. Let’s not over-state the case here.
Crosby’s a good player no doubt but it’s crazy people try to elevate him to the level of the Watts and Garretts of the world. People want him to be elite because of his story; they did the same thing with Josh Hamilton.
Darnell Washington is a blocking machine. The Steelers need to get everything together for the players on the roster to win the championship while the Steelers still have this much talent on the team
I'm not a Steelers fan but I can't help but feel like this guy is gonna have a similar career to Marcedes Lewis. He is gonna be a better football player than a fantasy football player. Always gonna have a job because he is one of the best blockers. Is huge and athletic. I see nothing but upside with a great floor.
I’m the only with Cam Sutton’s jersey but you can hardly call Darnell a sleeper. Pundits were talking about him at the top of the TE class. Goes the show the gulf between how pundits understand football and how the league thinks about these prospects.
He's a phenomenal blocker. You can even leave him 1on1 with elite DEs like Crosby and Bosa and he gets the job done. Also notice how every single one of his catches was for a first down. Steelers need to involve him more in the passing game.
@@PittsburghReels oh I thought I was joking lol IDK I’ve seen him do some stuff with his hands that makes me never want him to be ineligible on a football field.
I wouldn’t know I can’t claim to have an encyclopedic knowledge of Niners and Chargers ball. But I’ll go out on a limb and say Washington is figuratively in a league of his own, especially among rookies.
Dude has a lot of untapped potential n upside hopefully Arthur smith actually utilizes him in the pass game more I think he can be a way better player than Friermuth with more opportunity
Washington and Freiermuth may as well play different positions; they're totally different prototypes. Darnell will never have Muth's hands and Muth will never have Darnell's blocking. And that's ok!
@@Steely_Cam since when doesn’t Darnell Washington have good hands I’m lost him n pat had some of the lowest drop rates in the league I don’t know why your insinuating Darnell can’t catch lol
@@Datfnguy347 He has fine hands. Pat has elite, tight end hands. I watched him all through college, too, up close and personal. He did some things I’ve never seen a TE do.
He stood his own against the nfls best! Guess when you practice against TJ Highsmith heyward etc that helps. This season he’ll be more involved in the pass game he’s to much of a weapon not to be and they wouldn’t have drafted him in the 3rd if he was just a blocker
If he keep make blocks like that there going use him as a line me his handle Defensive ends and linebackers don’t be surprised if they switch him and his 264 40 more pounds that’s a linemen
i would like to see the Steelers use this man more in the red zone and more touches
This year he will get utilized more in the offense😈
I was so glad we got him... Insane stretch n power

He is like an addition left tackle and he can run and catch buddy is just a tank of a Man he is going to have a bright future in the NFL

@@Steely_Camhe was 265 at the combine I think his playing weight is actually closer to 280 but yes I get your point
@@collinm5277 The current Steelers roster lists him at 264.
Thank you for giving this man some love! Dude is a beast
Zach Gentry and Darnell Washington were both unfairly ignored by Steelers quarterbacks of all shapes and sizes the last couple years
Might be the best blocking TE I’ve seen and heard has a ceiling for real
We have a new standard for in-line blockers. We may never hear Matt Spaeth’s name again
Criminally underutilized in the passing game
Yeaaaa.... Feed him his 10 catches per game.. And 30 pan cakes
That was everyone under Matt Canada
Just seen him do Crosby dirty. Definitely a blocking machine. I wanna see him get more touches though he got light feet.
Crosby’s a good player no doubt but it’s crazy people try to elevate him to the level of the Watts and Garretts of the world. People want him to be elite because of his story; they did the same thing with Josh Hamilton.
Got damn he is strong he just manhandles guys when he gets his hands on them.

12- and 22-personnel, all season.

Blocking is ok n all.... But give him the BALL!!!
Man's a beast
hes a monster
Has Marjorie Taylor Green made you consider a rebranding? That’s gotta be tough
Really odd how this man slid to the third round. Potentially 3 in 1 if they stuff him in the backfield.
They need to use him more than just a blocker he can run routes bruh look at his highlights
I'm the only one with his jersey.. Best Steelers sleeper pick all time

@@Steely_CamYes

He will.
@@Steely_Cam lol he’s big enough to be RT but I prefer him as TE
Were there any other rookies who pancaked Bosa and took Crosby to the grass? Just curious?

9 targets in a season is…low. Curiously low.
If Ben had a guy like this he'd be salivating, they need to move on from their current talent.
Ben would’ve gotten him 15 td’s just from red zone targets lol

MOUNT WASHINGTON💪🏿
Imagine the terror of having a man that size leaping over you. I imagine that's what it feels like when you're about to be eaten by a pterodactyl.
the movement
he completely embarrassed a guy at @5:00 🤣
Go dawgs
Hook em dawgs! Did i do it?
Steelers need a RB athletic enough to exploit this guy. He does have the pop of a George kittle but my god that length.
I saw our TE lay everyone down... Just everybody
Man he can really block 🚫 well 😒 Can't wait until they put him in routes. I'm sure Arthur Smith system will utilize him well.
I hope he doesn’t take a back seat to that dude they brought in from Atlanta. They’re def cut from the same cloth
Imagine him on a team with a QB1. Russel Wilson gonna throw him at least 5TD this season.
Pickett would routinely ignore a wide open Zach gentry in the end zone
Throwing people out the club!
He Most Underrated Playe of NFL History but Watch He Get with right team! It's going be 🔥🔥🔥
