Thanks for the detailed video. If you want it done right, I suppose some pain must be endured to take it all off. I guess laying down some towels so thing dont get scratched up is probably a good idea too.
There is no way that some elements will get scratched as long as you put them in order and easily, the presence of towels inside only makes the work more difficult because in some positions you can slip, my advice is to have clean overalls, a few and a few disposable gloves .
Thanks for the guide! I followed this on an install today but the new shade sits around 1cm from the front of the sunroof when closed leaving a small gap near the drivers seat. I followed all the instructions as per the guide. Is there a way to move it forward by about 1cm so it doesn't have a gap?

Hello, I have a problem with my BMW GT5. A few days ago I disassembled the front ceiling light to replace the bulbs. I disconnected the entire module, and after connecting it, the sunroof, front/rear reading lights, and alarm stopped working. I checked the controller errors and there is a problem with the FZD _0x56 module. The car does not see the controller. I checked the fuses and they are all OK. Is it possible to assign/repair this module? Best regards.
This usually happens when the car's battery is very weak, try to disconnect the battery and connect it after 10 min. If it doesn't recover, remove the FZD once more, but this time keep the car key away and the ignition off. leave the car for 10 minutes and then reassemble everything.
Since details are needed regarding the equipment of the car, I advised the client to purchase the part from the ro BMW representative and I understood that the price is approximately 500 euros
I got quotes from 2 different BMW service departments. The first said around $8k USD. The other said around $4k USD. My independent BMW mechanic quoted about $2,500. The sunshade part itself is around $500 USD so I'll probably take an afternoon and attempt it myself ; )
This just happened to my car - at this stage I don’t feel it’s worth repairing, can you advise on those copper strips and whether they can be just simply removed with the sunshade material cut out?
Those bands are not copper, they are made of spring steel similar to that of old mechanical watches, you cannot cut them easily and if they expand it is even worse.
@@JHAMS.001-car-repair do you have any advice on how to remove the shade itself? Could I simply slice the material out and just leave the faulty mechanism in place?
This just happened to my car for the second time. 1st time under warranty. BMW paid the repair. It broke again. Unacceptable. They warned me of the tremendous amount of work to get it fixed. This repair now it's on me. Other things broke down. Gps screen, twice. Suspension balloons and compressor.. This car is a piece of crap. BMW has lost a customer..

Yes, the system must be initialized, keep pressing the up button until the system shuts down completely 2 times, it takes approx. 90 sec.

What’s the average price for replacement by professional??
Unfortunately, I can't tell you exactly, on average there are 6 hours of work, and each service has its own price
