+Jeffrey Lebowski American Sniper is a controversial film. I think the producers, the director Clint, even Bradley understood that when they made the film. Although it didn't get much appreciation from the award-giving bodies like the Oscars or the Golden Globes, its performance at the box office makes it a financial success. And so it did turned to gold nonetheless.
blognewb It is very controversial, what are you saying? The movie drew a lot of negative reviews and responses from critics/moviegoers alike. The controversy revolves mainly on glorifying American elitism, racism-misleading generalization of Muslim stereotypes, and many more. Google the movie, it's like the only thing you'll find about it. You're right on it being inaccurate though. The movie deviates a lot from the book; in other words, it got Hollywood-ed.

Well deserved. Swank is an amazing actress.
Clint looked choked up. Shows how proud he was for her.
I remember this year. I loved her so much. It was my high-school graduation and I had a dress made, by her dress at the Oscars. The dress did not look one bit like hers but what the hell...I love you Hilary!
I hope she wins her third Oscar next year for Homesman
Yeah hope she gets nominated at least :)
It's probably going to Julianne or Felicity, but yeah, here's hoping for a nod
Wow, the husband gets a hug, Clint gets the kiss, A great movie, Morgan freeman is a absolute treasure. Million Dollar Baby, Shawshank Redemption , War of the worlds.
That hit me really hard when she said Clint Eastwood you’re my Mcushla
The "YEAH" from Sandra to Catalina is so lovely!😎
Why do they remove the clip of them from the film that's my favorite part

I'd just like to say that not every Brit thinks in the same way as the commenter you responded to - in fact, I think that most of us are very grateful for a lot of the talent that America has shown us over the years. Talent comes from all over the world, and self-imposing boundaries using such arbitrary criteria as nationality does the world no favours. (Not criticising your comment, just showing support!)
Catalina Sandino-Moreno was the only one who deserved this award that year in this category. I am so sick of the Oscars not rewarding the true talent
One of the most increadible performances of all time! Hillary's performance was out of this world as well as in Boys don't cry.
Sean Penn looked like Pauly D
Brilliant performance, in one of my favourite films. Btw. I can't leave her dress without any comment. She looks absolutely amazing.
I just saw MDB, and it blew my mind. I cried so much... I'm not a boxer or anything like that but I connected to Fitzgerald... Her horrible family, her ambition... Hilary was AMAZING in that role. It was noticeable the friendship between the 3 of them. Loved it.
She is going to win the third time for Ordinary Angels
Pride of Colombia and colsaf 2005: Catalina Sandino Moreno
Oh my god, I did not know "Maria Full of Grace" was nominated. That movie was outstanding, she deserved that nomination.
This was a very tough year as Imelda Staunton was heartbreakingly good in Vera Drake and Winslet exceptional also. But for pure power and gut wrenching emotion Hilary comes out top. The whole movie was so different to the normal Hollywood "underdog comes out on top" fare that we are so used to seeing. That's why won big on the night for best actress and also best picture, best director clint Eastwood and best supporting actor Morgan freeman. And to think swank once started in the next karate kid!!
Million dollar baby makes me cry
Catalina is so gorgeous
Very well deserved!!!! Amazing performance in Million dollar baby
Sean penn was there cuz he won Oscar for mystic river directed by Clint Eastwood and Hillary Swank was there for million dollar baby directed by Clint Eastwood.
Clint makes great movies and gets great performances out of those who work with him.
@@sharonjensen3016 true.Who won oscar for unforgiven
Super job Hilary Swank, you are the one, well deserved. She had a great team behind her,a brilliant team, that is why she won.Yes Clint Eastwood, the greatest; (the orchestra needs to allow her to finish.)
The way she remembers all the names and names them one by one without thinking without pausing even for a moment is fucking amazing!
"And I want to thank-"
The orchestra: 'BIP!'
Hilary: "I'm not fucking done!"
lol...
Deserved it! She made me cry at the end, only movie I cried for that I can remember! Everyone needs to see this movie! Though, it's VERY sad, maybe not for your young kids.
I love Hilary Swank in this movie. Its a heartbreaking and fantastic movie. One of my favourites!
