Would love to hear Ren's newer one. (back on 74/message in a bottle) retake ..it is 🔥. Beautiful back-up singers, it came out about a month ago and he filmed it during Christmas. He is filming a video with Chris Webby in Connecticut today or tomorrow. He just showed us a pic of him and Chris watching to solar eclipse.

Ren added the guitar to the beat. But it's Nas's beat.
Not just the guitar but the guitar is definitely the most immediately noticeable addition. If you listen closely there's quite a bit of added audio, right from the beginning.
Ironically, the beat that Ren remixed and rapped over, wasn't produced by Nas. Most rappers, most artists have their music/beats written and/or produced by somebody else. It's pretty standard practice. Not everyone is as multitalented as Ren. Ren does it all! :

I just found you yesterday and I'm amazed to see just how enthusiastic you are about Ren's musical ability. You also manage to catch pretty much all of his bars and crazy rhyme schemes. He is such an individual and unique talent. Imo, he is a once in a lifetime artist and we are blessed to be alive while he is here showcasing his unique talents. New sub from this 70 yr old Scotsman.

“Sleep is the cousin of Death” is a line that was introduced by Nas on “NY State of Mind” off the Illmatic album.
“Halftime” is the Song Ren is rapping on which is also a song off of Illmatic.
Many people say Illmatic is the greatest rap album of all time.
When it dropped, the world was shook and every rapper changed up their style. TUPAC and JAY-Z changed their style after Illmatic dropped. Especially Biggie, he copied Nas.
There is a reason why Illmatic is studied in universities today as a course all to itself.
The Nas song is Half time and he did it in half the TIME - and the Nuclear fission is a shout out to the reaction community who loves him. Chinese and rice bible and Christ - is Big l a rapper that also died . Big mac is a reference to biggie smalls and mac miller name give to them by p diddy. Fries i am assuming is a shout out to rens song uninvited - which you should 100% listen to. Pie reference i want to say is because the song came out on 3.14 and because Ren is the piper definitely - he plays i follow and the fleas from rat is what cause the plague. Ok i am done nerding out.

Not everyone is as multi-talented as Ren. Ren does it all and then some! :)

- "An isotope, a proton and a neutron in the nuclei..." refers to 'Breaking Atoms' one of the first albums Nas was involved in.
- "sleep is the cousin of death" might also refer to 'Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst' by 'Kendrick Lamar', another rapper Ren loves.
- Also, the "China without rice, Bible without Christ" was homage to The Big Picture album by Big L (from the intro).
- "It's like rats to the music when I'm feedin 'em pie" like the pied piper.
Sleep is the cousin of death is also a call back from his "Make My Way" track which was also referenced in Wicked Ways. The chemistry bar was in his "Life is Funny" track. There's at least 11 callbacks to lyrics from different tracks.
