A powerful icing on the Ren-cake if you will 😅 He is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art.
I trust that other RENegades will fill you in on his backstory and probably recommend Sick Boi for insight into his frustrations from being misdiagnosed for years. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning.

When I first saw Hi Ren it blew me away, I wouldn't watch any other Ren videos because I expected to be disappointed after this masterpiece, but I was wrong, his back catalogue and the new songs he is bringing out are incredible. I would suggest reacting to his Money Game series, there are three songs starting with Money Game part 1.. Buckle up, its an incredible journey of rap, singing, guitar piano, beats etc. Ren writes and records his own stuff and directs a lot of his own videos, many of which are one-take live performances like this one.

Okay, I’m laughing because I was a bit of a slut when I found Ren. I watched “Hi Ren” ten times over, and then took the dive on the same day. I was trying to find out everything I could about him. I found his Gofundme dropped $400 in that. Got back on TH-cam and kept finding more of his catalog. Then I did freak a little because I didn’t want to run out of Ren. Thus, I started pacing myself and found reaction videos. The rest is history. 😆❤️✌️

It is a song that breaks all genres. Ren is a chameleon. He can do it all. Yes, the Tale of Jenny and Screech full version, Illest of of our Time, Chalk Outlines, you just can't go wrong. Suicide, back to 74/ message in a bottle retake. I can't name them all, but they are greatness. This man has overcome more than any human being I know. He was made for this. Freddie Mercury will always be at my top, but so will Ren. Now that's a compliment.

I found this song a couple of days ago because I live under a rock. But it hits in a special way. My inner demon has its own separate voice too… my mother’s. I’ve been in those lows and those highs. This song will forever have a special place because I think everyone can relate to it even if they don’t struggle with depression or other mental illnesses.

63 year old 70s kid, new subscriber here brother I'll subscribe to anyone about to be embraced and drawn into the RENiverse. I never cared much for music other than just to fill little holes end spaces here and there if I happened to be with friends and they were jamming something in the car for example, but I never really learned band members names etcetera etcetera. Hell I thought for the longest time that _Molly Hatchet_ and _Alice in Chains_ were girl bandss lol.
But when I discovered Ren at the end of last year, that all changed. He has opened me up to so many different feelings and understandings of this planet our society our species this world oh my God I could go on. Now, I can appreciate music from like Kendrick and Nas and so many others of so many different genres. Pretty sure you will become a new Renegade if you even dip a toe in the rabbit hole. I hope you do though, because I'm subscribing in anticipation of your rebirth, as well as welcoming you as a new Renegade. To a Renegade, all other renegades are family. Welcome my brother.
Well done on your part, letting the song flow without pausing, letting the song speak for itself, which it does very well. I consider that a sign of a sincere reaction to this fine work of musical art, that you didn't feel it was necessary to stop it to inject some superficial analysis or whatever.
You are right, there are more than just two personas. Count how many times you hear "Hi there, Ren"(once) or "Hi Ren"(twice). That's the key to understanding that there are three distinct Rens that each take a turn singing.

I was going through a bad time and luckily I caught this and gave me a new perspective! And since then I've been a avid fan of Ren and his gift of music.

By now I'm sure you've read Ren's back story of medical malpractice that has left his physical & mental health in shambles, maybe for life The symbolism in this performance shows his anger at the medical profession, starting with the Pig/Butcher, probably Ren's opinion of doctors and therapists the discordant guitar chords and vocals are intentional, revealing the inner chaos he feels, as do the wildly blinking lights .................

So many great people have tried explaining the flow of water concept but ren explained it where its easily digestible. He seems to have that affect. He is able to break through peoples perception of things and help them understand what its like. Perfect examples of this is suicide (manages to speak about suicide in a easy to understand way), the tales (able to explain the dangers of crime life and domestic violence) money game series ("ill break it down line by line. This is business economics in a nursery rhyme") the throws of addiction (chalk outlines among others), the dangers of drinking and driving (what went wrong 1 and 2), God and questioning faith (dear God)....... ren has the ability to reach massive amounts of people with his God-given talent and help them understand, express, and gain sympathy for people around them. His ability to break tough topics down is something people have been searching for for decades. I am so damn happy that ren is getting the recognition he deserves. People need to hear what he has to say. He is our soldier in this war.
