It's not available to open now through the Apps menu, but it's now used in any scenario an app needs to load a user-chosen file, such as an Xbox gamerpic. Not sure how or why it was carried over to Windows, but, the more you know.
Microsoft Edge HTML rendering engine is used in many apps like Microsoft Store and the Edge Browser obviously. :) Sadly, that will not be removable because of backwards compatibility...

Both XP keys and 7 processing effect don't look that bad. Seriously, XP had a great design and 7 took it even further. MS's minimalist style isn't the best and it has its downsides, but also improves on some fields. IMO, they should've kept the best things from the previous Windows versions to match the new, better ones. You can also see 9x folder icons deep in 10, and those are indeex glaring.

Because Windows 98 PC were still using AT power supplies, not ATX ones like we know today. We had Windows 98 PCs in school, which were shut down exactly in this way. Later, they've got replaced by new computers with Windows XP and those had ATX power supplies, which will turn of the PC for you.

The reason why dialer.exe is still and hasn't been updated is because dialer.exe also contains drivers for telephony services. That includes dial-up internet, which many people still use. As the UI is not very important it hasn't been updated or removed.

It might've been too much work to remove it at that point so they just left it in.
That's not the reason, there is an option in the registry to turn it on, and I believe it can also be turned on via the control panel.
