    I just recently discovered Olaplex and it is a life-changer. I started coloring my hair when it started to go grey, and I had no idea how it would wreck my curls. I saw Olaplex on Tiktok and decided to give it a try, and it changed my hair game. I got the sample kit so I could try it without investing a ton of money, we all have cemeteries of products that just don't work. After my first treatment a week ago, I bought the largest size of the repair treatment because it is that good. I have spent the week using different styling products to see which hold I like best, and I love them all though mousse made my hair really soft and voluminous. I also got the finishing oil and leave-in conditioner, which I use after I wash my hair. I mix the oil in with my product and then also use it in between washes directly on my hair. I give this product a thumbs up and have recommended it to all my curly-haired friends. :)

    It is so nice to see results on different hair types. I am loving the results on my straight hair & can't wait to share. I have one more treatment left before I share my thoughts but it is safety say I love it. I leave mine in longer and sometimes place a plastic bag or wrap over the hair and put heat to it. Love the results when I do that. SO shiny. xoxo

      unless they're water soluble silicones you're just going to have to use a sulfate shampoo to actually wash them out

    • @elizabethh892
      @elizabethh892 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can use other strong surfactants, but they are just as bad give or take as sulfates

    • @berchyzgb4423
      @berchyzgb4423 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well great 😐 is it ok to wash your hair with sulfates once in month and a half or maybe even two? My hair doesn't get greasy fast, so by the time it does, it can go week and a half, and I don't wash it till I see some natural oil, and would it be bad considering my hair gets all the natural moisture (well, the roots), and like I said once in two months with sulfates and in beetween with sulfate free? Thank you 😊

    • @InimeKai
      @InimeKai 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      using sulfates every once in the while won't kill your hair. the curly girl method takes kind of an alarmist stance on sulfates- yes they are drying, but once in a while is no big deal. you should incorporate them at least now and then if you're using silicones for sure. i don't use silicones, but i use a sulfate shampoo once in a while just to get a deep cleanse/potentially wash out any silicones from my skincare etc that may have gotten in my hair. i'd say try to find a balance between your sulfate free/sulfate shampoo that works for you and allows your hair to not look wonky from silicone buildup/also not be too stripped that it starts overproducing oil. couldn't tell you how often exactly you could go without a sulfate shampoo without the silicones building up or when it would be excessive and dry out your hair but don't be afraid to at least use it every now and then and see what works for you : )

    Olaplex is great! I have a hookup with my cousin and she got me the travel kit with step 1 and 2 from a license store similar to cosmoprof. On Olaplex site it says "the longer it sits, the better the results" so I overnight olaplex in my hair like my prepoo routine. 😁

      While longer the better the company said it pretty much stops working after 30 minutes so overnight is unnessicary. Also no matter the time left in make sure it doesn't dry out, that will also render it ineffective

    How do we do it if our hair is so tangled and just rinse it? It’s so tangled

      Go to around 3:30 where she says and shows that you have to detangle your hair BEFORE adding the product.

    Question! I wash my hair once a week and by the end of the week there is a lot of buildup due to the products I use. Will rinsing my hair be enough to get some of the buildup out of the way so this product will work its magic?

    • @manaky8742
      @manaky8742 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would use a clarifier beforehand and then Olaplex. Just in case

    Such an inspiration for the curly hair!!!! I have a question... do you have a lot of hair that falls out? In the shower or just in general?? Curious to know what amount of shedding on someone else’s curly hair is:)

    • @JoyBeforeHer
      @JoyBeforeHer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you! and I have a regular amount of shedding. Not more than usual though. I detangle my hair in the shower while conditioning and that helps to get rid of the dead hair

    I think you said you're using deva curl as your shampoo and conditioner? I would maybe look into ayesha malik and the thousands of people who have been affected by long term use of deva curl. X

      No normally 1 and 2 have to be bought and used in the salon. You can only buy & use #3 for home use.

    When you say rinse your hair before putting the product.. do you mean like cowashing or just rinse with water ?

      Joy Before Her ok thanks! I'm asking because I read you had to shampoo your hair if it had product and I think that's stupid to have to shampoo your hair twice. Curlies can't be washing too much. And yours came out good with just rinsing. So I'm good lol. I used some ACV though because I had got2b glued on my edges and slicked back. Have you tried the whole system ?

    Olaplexing it Right now... dunno how long to leave it for... but my stylist once told me overnight is ok. I doubt i will do that because I have a cold.. lol.. but maybe 1 hr or so. :!

      @JoyBeforeHer  6 ปีที่แล้ว
