The word 'Cheminee' in this context actually refers to the path the King Rene walked, not a fireplace or hearth. Just saying.

Very pretty rendition of this piece.
Really superb, often the first movement is played to fast, tempi throughout is spot on.
I think that the expression to warm yourself at King Rene's fireplace meant to warm yourself in the sun which is supposedly what he did. Didn't look very hard but I always had the idea that he was one of those kinds that couldn't actually afford any wood or a fireplace.
Cheminée comme here ftom the word chemin, which means path. It means somethong like itinerary.
The horn seemed a little aggressive to me, but I totally enjoyed the performance. Nice job!
Wonderful piece of music, very well played! And a lovely name for a woodwind quintet :)
"Cheminee" means "hearth" or "fireplace", not "chimney" (or "chimmey").
Here it means rather 'walk'.
@@glishev Yes--it means "a little walk", a "stroll".
In program notes for this piece, I'm calling it "King Rene's Barbecue Party." Why? All the segments refer to the out of doors, involving various games and activities. But, of course, FIRE is involved. A metaphor is called for here, not a literal translation.

I think you mean 'Chimney'.
