They drafted in 1 year the best college QB and college WR they ever have. Look at the roster and last year's defense numbers. Improvements at every position. They even got the best college punter ever in Troy Taylor! If Chicago stays healthy and Williams plays 17 games. We're talking about the best rookie QB performance ever and the Bears making the playoffs!

I don't hate Caleb Williams. I do hate the lack of tempering expectations from the media and fans.
All i heard when fields was drafted was how the bears dominance was about to begin.
All i heard when the bears got DJ Moore was how scary that offense was going to be.
Williams gets drafted and its even worse then i expected.
Projecting playoffs from a team that hasn't had a winning season in how long, in a division where you have to get past the lions and the packers... come on. 8-9, 9-8 would be reasonable, and a good start to Caleb's career.
...also Stafford thew for 4k 30 TDs for most of his career and made the playoffs only twice with the lions. So to assume that if you put up those numbers you make the playoffs is dumb.

Caleb could be Playoff bound. If the Bears defense continues to hold up, I think Caleb and his new receivers and running back should be good for at least 3 more wins than last year. Not sure if 10 wins is good enough to make the playoffs though. But I CAN see them winning 12.
    Here is how:
They split their 3 division games, lose at the Texans and lose to the Rams at home, that’s 5 losses.
Then they go on the road and beat the Cardinals, Colts, Commanders and my 49ers, who will be dealing with their Super Bowl Jinx.
And at home they beat the Titans, Patriots, Panthers, Jaguars and Seadogs. That leaves them at 12-5.

They have a new offensive coordinator: they’ve surround Caleb Williams with unparalleled talent. The factor you’re not seeing is WR Rome Odunze. That is him surrounded by top talent. That is enough to make the playoffs. The discussion you should really be having is what are they going to do once they get there: past the point of Matt Nagy’s 2018 playoff point.
This is a gross, underestimation of the bears roster. You’re making it about one player.
