Hey quick tip, check if your laptop has a built in camera cover. I just spent 2 hours researching how to fix my black camera to realize my laptop came with the camera cover and it was switched on. Not my proudest moment LOL.
Thanks bro, you helped a lot!! I removed the drivers for the webcam and rebooted the computer, they reinstalled themselves and everything worked. Before that there was a black screen, despite the fact that all permissions were turned on

You're absolutely right, Mosa! Some webcams have a physical shutter or cover that can block the view. It's a good idea to check that the shutter is fully open to ensure your camera works properly. 😊

It did not work. My camera still won't work on any app, all the drivers are up to date and the camera is always plugged and on with the light on, but no video on any apps...:(
it doesn't help at all. my camera just suddenly stopped showing screen properly. it's black but when I try to rise level of brighteness I can see a bit of my silhouette but it's grey. it's defintitelly some weird Windows update messing again with settings gosh I hate w10. I want good old Windows XP back when we could actually control our computers, updates and apps properly. I need to have classes and right now am wasting my time to fix this crap of camera on HP..

@@nabannohasan5142 i didnt know what application it was, i literally just closed all the application. i later realized that it was obs studios. if you have already closed everthing and the only thing left running is your camera and there still isnt anything try pressing the camera hide button on your laptop, its in the f1-f12 buttons just check if theres a camera symbol there and press it
