Modern sport bikes are so overpowered that you can only access a small fraction of their potential without losing your license. I love the idea of a smaller displacement even lighter sport bike, that isn't too powerful for the street yet doesn't lose it's high rpm fire breathing nature.
I am absolutely, massively hyped about this pocket rocket. Huge respect for Kawasaki for having the drive to create this little marvel no one asked for, especially if they sell it in North America. Still love my ZX-6R though hahah

This bike will be a winner. I'm on a K1300 R, (BEAST !) & I'm thinking this 250 will be a great transition bike and a stepping stone to the bigger classes. IMHO Kawasaki are making the best looking bikes on the planet. Several decades ago I bought a new Kawasaki Z 1 900 Jaffa so maybe I'm biased.

@@Daniel-dj7fh you can restrict any bike up to 93hp (70kw) and ride it as an A2 bike (35kw). Plenty of people do this and even dealerships offer this option, for instance on 650cc ninjas, cbr650rs, mt07 etc. Not too difficult to de-restrict when you need more power :)

@@180FiftyFive yea, you're right. for some reason that didnt come up to my mind at that time
Bring back the good old times, yeah ! I will definitely buy one.
Yes! I am 50... and knew old small 4 cylinders... it’s like 2 strokes is coming back😀👍🏻!!... it will sounds almost like it or 400 bandit. It’s super cool !
When 350/400 fours were cheap old bombs.
Nothing can express the joy of the old 250 Lc
Just nothing reaches the soul like a 250 2 stroke Or 4 stroke
Love from Scotland 🏴
Although my biking days are over I find this bike very interesting. I think what would make it a winner in the UK is if it had reasonable insurance. It’s lighter weight would make it less intimidating for riders of smaller stature whilst retaining big bike looks. Thanks again for the video. Regards, Bob M.
Cheers bob. Yeah I think riding a lightweight 250 with 60hp would make for more fun on the road than the bigger bikes, absolutely
I agree fully but I still want the Aprilia RS660 more. If it can be A2 restricted I’m buying one come April no questions asked
This is the way to go imo , price ,weight, fun. Why wouldn't you want one . Please Kawasaki can we have it too. Great review thanks
I love what I'm seeing. So yes I love my 1000cc as much as the next guy but this ZX25R will seemingly bring back the mid-ninties magic from the 250 and 400cc sportbike. I can't wait to ride this. Instant classic it will be.
This is most exciting news in 2019!!!!
I'd definetly pay for this, I typically only ride bigger bikes, hayabusa and speed triple but been looking for nice 250 to rack miles up on and this is perfect
yeah I like it because it isn't designed with beginners in mind. I want to stick with small bikes but there aren't any small bikes that have real sportbike ergonomics except for the duke 390 but I won't give up a cylinder for that thing. I always have wanted a four cylinder but I can't afford insurance on a 600.
@@sed8181 exactly ^^^
@@sed8181 if your in the EU a lot of the 90s 400CCs bikes can be had.
@@madbull4666 I'm in the US so we didn't get a whole lot of them. the only faired 400 was the fzr400 I think. They all are hidden away somewhere or junked because I have never seen one up for sale ever. There was a legally imported mc22 that showed up a while back but it went back into hiding. Most of those weren't really legally imported anyway.
@@sed8181 ahh that's unfortunate. I'm in the UK and see them being put up here and there, most of them go for around £2500-5000 at least.
I'd pay 10k USD for this premium practical bike and use all of it's 249cc. Please come to America!
$10k is the sweet spot for this bike.
@@hby7768 I agree because it's way more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a 600-1000cc slow
$10k is too much. The zx6r is $10k. This needs to be less to draw those who think a new 600cc is already too much. I’d say $7k. That’s an awesome price point.
@Chaldean King I like this 250 better 😁
@Chaldean King doesn't matter what I say because you'll never understand 😁
Kawasaki even doing what others haven’t been for a long time.
When they started the GPZ series
they made the GPZ 305
which was a 250cc- 300cc two stroke 4 cylinder twin engine
Like a big bike made small.
it’s only 400 pounds.
So Kawasaki is no stranger to the 250cc
They do it better than anybody
Gotta realise it in Australia or I'm moving to Indonesia. Would sell my Triumph speed triple for it fam.
76 years old and dragging knees thru Prescott, Arizona! What fun!
So Kawasaki is building a Premium 250 CC Bike .. Make a race class for these bikes only .. just like the did with the RD and RZ-350 Yamaha 35-50 years ago ..
motogp already has a 250 class.
@@thinkdunson Seems the Spec class of today is for the KTM 390 single cylinder bike .. I don't follow GP but I know at one time they had a class for 50 cc 100 cc 125 cc 250 cc ect..
@@thinkdunson Moto 3 is 250cc, but restricted to a single cylinder I believe under current rules to keep costs down. World Superbikes WSP300 is confusingly for up to 400cc at least as the Ninja 400 is homologated, but I don't know what restrictions there are on the number of cylinders etc. in that currently most are twins, but being based on production machinery that's basically all there is to choose from. If legal then I can imagine a 400 version of this being available soon, that really would be a nice little machine.
I'm an 81-year-old biker who made showings at Daytona Fla, the USA on Suzuki 500 twin and I'm really liking this the Kawacka ZX-25R 250cc inline-four I'm really want to own one and ride it often! I know I just do not heal as easily as I did when I much younger. But still love the thrill of the ride. I don't have much time to go as life goes but, this would make a great closing to life!
Well done Kawasaki, that’s a great looking bike and will probably sound amazing buzzing along at very high RPM with an open pipe 👌
I would buy it tomorrow if it was made in the US. I know someone else, to this but I agree 100%. I love small displacement bikes and this thing will be literally be the king of canyons
Kawasaki: announces a 250cc inline four
*Me: I’LL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK!*
Stonks!
Lol..for sure
should be a big winner! The big large displacement 150+ hp bikes exceeded most riders skill levels a long time age. anyone can ride off on a 200hp bike, but mastering it and controlling it is something else. I have my Harley and a V65 for my adrenaline rush. recently added a tw200 to my collection and enjoy running it around on the back roads and jeep roads. not always about speed.
19k RPM redline? That just screams..." Put a turbo on me!! ". I'm down for it! That's also a MEAN looking 250CC bike. Like it's telling the world. " I'm the baddest 250 CC bike and don't you forget it! ".
anyone who has Ridden Sub 500 inline 4 Cylinder bike will jump with joy to see this. Just like me. Having ridden CB400 4, i always used to think, how this kinda engine might feel with the modern tech thats available today. But there was no one who dared to build such an engine, till this bike broke cover. The desire Quotient on this bike is much higher than anything i would wanna have. Just wanna see it on a naked bike.
I currently own a 95 ZXR 250 and I can tell you this has me excited! I just hope they get brought to the uk , who doesn’t love low weight high power! 🤘
This is exactly the bike we need, a bike that’s light, advanced, quick, not too quick though, and incredible sounding. Great work Kawasaki!
Bring to US pls
Yea this would be a fun bike in town, not dangerously fast but just enough to have fun going through the gears
Wow, this takes me back as I was around during the 90's grey craze! Although the 90's 250 where far higher spec (relatively) than the ninja 250, often costing more than the 600s, which is what killed them off eventually. And screaming the engine was all you could do with them! I rode a GSXR400 and it made absolutely bugger all power until at least 9000 was on the tacho, and only really pulled above 12000! I couldn't cope with the abuse but my mates seemed to love them 😮
So probably not a good city bike then? Haha
@@motobob not unless you like revving a bike away from every set of lights like it's the start of moto gp. On the upside, in wet weather, if you keep it under 7000 revs it's probably making less power than a scooter so you'll never highside it.....

The 1990s all over again, I hope Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki do the same and I hope the 400cc multi cylinders are brought back.
