Wonderful, I will try this soon. Can the sails be stored for any length of time, and how so? At room temperature? How about storing for a week? Thank you in advance!
I bet it would set on pretty low. I haven't tried though. I would be a little concerned about them shrinking would be the only thing. I would suggest a test run;) and then let me know!
Sorry but I do have quite a dumb question. Does the rice paper soften upon prolong contact on buttercream? If so, how much time does it take for the rice paper to succumb to the moisture?
Not a dumb question at all;) a crusted buttercream should be fine. If you are still worried, you can brush cocoa butter onto the back side where it will be touching.
Hi Mary. Hope u well. I tried this technique of yours.. but my rice papers just stuck so badly with the wax papers.. they just didn't come off.😫😫 Please can u guide where I might have gone wrong..🙏
Very interesting on the different color combos you can make. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking.
A baker and her skills never cease to amaze me!🤗
OK, now I wanna see next week already! Can't wait.
Working on it now;)
I had fun making my sails!!!
Aren't they fun to make??
Hi! I love your videos! They’re super helpful for a new cake decorator like me. I do have a question, will foil work to lay the sails on?
The cake is amazing but the dyed fingers amused me! Been there, done that! We have to suffer for our art!

would it be easier to lightly spray the parchment paper to help release the rice paper once it has set up?
Thank you for this tutorial. Can you tell me if putting them in a dehydrator will work pls?

Very nice! Can I put them in the fridge with a cake?
I wouldn't. I think the humidity might melt them.

Thank you for sharing this!! Can I do the same thing with wafer paper? They don't sell rice paper here. 😒
You could do something similar for sure! I am going to do a tutorial very soon using wafer paper, only a different design.
