Southgate won't make any changes because in his head he's getting everything right
He is deluded to the highest order
This is true. I think he feels vindicated in his choice by that stroke of luck last game. Even the way he talked about being on Toney late Like it proved his plan was solid
Well he has to make changes because guehi is suspended and trippier is injured
U ain’t Neva lie
Southgate will make changes hes naming him self as a sub 😊
Phil Foden is left footed, they got that wrong
It's just that he's not a natural winger, he's not particularly good at beating a man by going down the outside on his left
Gordon is right footed but still can beat a man going either way and is much better at holding the width and impacting the game from there
Did you watch city the last few seasons mate
@@byBlazing He did not. Seemingly no one has
Well, I watched every minute he has played and he is considerably more effective in the centre or to the right of centre. He isn’t blessed with pace though and needs someone to overlap if he is played on the wing. Never saw the best of him there though, but since moving to the middle on a more permanent basis, he has excelled.
@@alfiewright1396 foden doing bad at england is simple Southgate tactic and squad he picked was poor
He only picked one natural left back (shaw) who is injured for the position we have trippier konsa eze saka all trying it out at times but they won't be good enough at giving proper service you expect from the full backs which is to overlap/invert since full backs are to assist the wingers as we use full backs ideally southgate should change formation with the squad we use to a 3-4-3 or 5-2-2-1 because the current formation isn't good for the squad we have selected which has an abundance if attacking players and more centre backs than native full backs so we need to put to good use our centre backs we have playing with a back 3/5 is definitely the way to go and change the way we start at the back to give a better momentum as the ball goes forward because atm we aren't defensively sound clearly and why we don't have much attacking threat
Can't blame Southgate for the lack of energy, forward runs or effort. We see it all the time players playing well for clubs but non existent for their country. It's wrong and needs to be addressed
He will make zero changes until the 88 min
And then it will be a defensive midfielder…..😂😂

Be all good as long as we 3-0 up
Palmer and Gordon to start.
They should have started every game so far, also Watkins alongside Kane up front.
This change would have been the obvious one every game after Serbia but the fact that he has refused to make it leads me to assume that yet again he won’t
@@England-fan01 Yes to Gordon on the left. But Palmer?
Everyone would agree except for Southgate. Konsa for Gaehi that's it and we'll go out with a whimper
Ivan Toney
Phil Foden is left footed…. This is some shocking reporting.
He’ll name exactly the same team and still expect a different performance.
The definition of insanity
Yep, he is deluded and a coward.
Any time we win, he thinks it's vindication of his management, no matter how bad
It’s not the starting XI England need to make changes to. It’s the manager.
As much as I agree Southgate should go. Changing the starting xi is also vital, Kane should not be playing and cannot fit into the team with the likes of Bellingham and foden, it just doesn’t work.
🥱
@@Phillips596100% Foden should be dropped and not Kane
It's both.
@@lloydy11 why not Kane? What are you seeing from Kane that tells you he's a threat in the big games?
The only changes he'll make is how they'll arrange themselves in the airplane this weekend
Hello darling how are you

Nice one!
He calls Foden right footed and Italy the hosts...😅
The Swiss approach will be to attack in behind the fullbacks as often as possible, esp Walker..
Why are they standing so close to each other
They have deffo fucked 100%
Was hoping it wasn't just me lol
This is because the camera does not have a wide lens, so they are side by side to fit into the frame and are in the centre of the frame and not on the outer sides.
Its no illusion. They're right next to each other 😂@hilal2050
because they're in love. stop being so homophobic.
he wont hes way too stubborn
Most teams are playing a back 3 because it gives you more numbers in midfield. England should play a back 3 and make TAA and Saka wingbacks if Shaw is not yet fit. drop one of Foden or Bellingham, play Palmer
This!
@Best_game59 - Surely GS will have realised that everyone else has in that Terence Trent Darby should not be playing, it's like playing with 10 men with him there.
If Southgate's bath was overflowing he would sit there and watch it flood his house because turning the taps off would force him into making a decision.
😂
He'd put Kane in his bath, just in case.
Southgate wouldn’t run a bath, just in case he flooded his house.
@@thewellandvalley2103 *amen*
And then when its full he'd open the front door letting it all pour out. Thus techincally solving the problem.
Southgate could go through menopause and still not change
😂😂😂
This is Southgate we're talking about, it'll be as much the same as possible, he doesn't seem to realise there's more than one page in a playbook.
In the last euros he switched between a back 4 and a back 3 multiple times
@@alfiewright1396people have short memories though, they forget he used to switch between systems before at tournaments
Three things I want to see more than anything are Foden in the number 10 posiiton, Bellingham dropped back, and Palmer playing.
Toney has a higher goals per game ratio than Foden in the Premier league and already has one assist to Kane. Swiss are weak against set pieces and Toney is a target man.
@@MrHeyhomes I'm not against Toney playing. Kane looks better with someone like that next to him. You could have Bellingham and Rice as defensive mids, Foden more advanced and central, then Kane, Toney and Palmer as a front 3, and the wing backs providing width....maybe Saka in left back. Or just don't play Foden but it's not working with him on the left....that's my main thing tbh.
Kane is getting so deep you could cut out a midfielder and give him the 10 role. He has put out some great passes from that zone although it isn’t his job.
Let’s be real Southgate ain’t changing anything
Enough with trying to fit in Foden and trying to restrict your best player. Enough. He’s been playing in that 10 role unless you don’t watch the games. It’s stupid. He’s impeding your two best players. Enough. Make him an impact sub with significant minutes like what he’s doing with Palmer now.
Typical Sky Sports getting the facts wrong. Foden is left footed on the left, so Kyle Walker & Phil Foden are the only TWO same footed players on the same wing. Please Sky do your research 🙏
They even commented on Saka's average position vs Slovakia without realising his average position was more inside because he played 20 minutes at LB. These two clowns are not sports analysts.
I think you will find that Phil Foden is left footed , not right footed as you have stated
No point in analysing Sakas average position because he played at LB for some of the game which adjusted that average position massively. He actually hugged the touchline for a lot of that game.
I don't understand about strategies, but each England player receiving the ball and then standing still for several seconds allows the opposition time to regroup and stifle any England advance. You've got to keep moving and passing.
I've been saying since before we kicked a ball qt this tournament.. 1 player who would do that is 1 player who hasn't had a single minute. Wharton can make this team tick
Southgate is just out of his depth in terms of tactics. Can’t wait to see the back of him.
It could be Southgate's last game in charge as England manager. The team Southgate selects to face Switzerland should just go for it .!!!! And get us to the semi - final's and the final .!!!!
Clowngate is to much of a coward for that 🤣🤣
Seems the Average position of Saka (#7) on the 2nd image is skewed by him playing left-back for a portion of the game. Clearly there's still a problem with the #10 position being crowded, but Saka was actually providing width.
Apart from the defender change forced by suspension, probably no others. One change from the start is enough to give Southgate a nosebleed, two might finish him off!
If Southgate were case in a war film, you just know he’d be the man quivering and crying in the trench.
Nah, he'd be the General, sending the men in to die while he sat back and watched, and did nothing
I doubt there will be any changes apart from Konsa for Guehi. It would be nice if Southgate at least tried Saka LW and Foden RW.
Why do you say Italy are the hosts?
Because they think Foden is right footed, what do you expect?
Start Ivan Toney he makes a massive difference to the squad
Do a 1 - 2 -7. That should bring in the goals.
No more goals though. They key with Kane is I think delivery at less expected times and in swinging balls from the wings are a good option. Spain have the best look don't they.
That Kaveh guy is so weird 😂 I love it!
Second time Rob Dorsett is doing the same mistake - saying Foden is right footed
Southgate's "if it's broken don't fix it" mentality can only last so long - probably only another 90 minutes.
But it is profoundly broken he just has his eyes screwed tightly shut.
You may be right. He's never lost a match at the Euros, though. (As either player or manager.)
@@bonglesnodkins329 surely that can’t be true cos we would have won
@@mikem9309 It's completely true. Penalty shootouts are not part of the match; they take place after the match if the match is still a draw at full time. FIFA and UEFA will record such matches as draws.
The final between Italy and England in 2021 was a draw, therefore a penalty shootout was held after the match to decide who won the cup.
All Southgate's Euro results:
As player:
England 1 - 1 Switzerland
England 2 - 0 Scotland
England 4 - 1 Netherlands

Nice but gotta go Mainoo with Rice. Put Bellingham where Foden is and drop Foden. Then put Gordon on the left instead of Saka and Palmer instead of Trent further up. Should be 3/4 or 5 in defence at all times and frees up 5 players to be creative up front attacking. Perfect balance with Bellingham in the deep middle because he's got the full game of defence and attack, hold up and destroyer, heading and dribbling.
Foden is too lightweight in defence and needs to be in front of the box to affect the game.

@@cameronjones8641 Look I get your point and we will have to wait and see how things develop, and nothing wrong with what you are saying, the team needs to restore faith in the fans again so as an England supporter it only makes sense why fans have become very skeptical about the team winning.
All the best 🍷
Non , he’s frightened to make changes. Unless we are losing and we have a minute left to play.
Toney looked a handful. Kane has no pace and needs to play behind a striker. England don't dominate games like Bayern do.
Agreed- an handful is a great way to describe him. Kane isn’t like that and with nothing going wide on the wings then cutting back that’s half of Kanes game gone
After watching that performance they come to the conclusion that we need to play more centre backs? Who are these two herberts?

He'll make as little change as possible because he believes doing the same thing will make us get better. This is the level of the man.
Watching highlights from the last 3 tournments, it's crazy how much we relied on Raheem Sterling to produce moments to get us going. He did more in one of those games than the entire team has done this whole tournament. It's that bad.
Switserland will be better obviously but somehow England will get trough given the luck they had so far
Cry
These 2 really have an over estimated sense of importance.
Using Portugal as the example of playing wide and saying "this is what England really need to do" when Portugal also failed to score against Slovenia in 120 minutes
You should not speak about football if you do not know Foden is left footed
Trent massively scape goated. Created most chances for England in the tournament. Mainoo, Bellingham and rice have all given the ball away sloppily in that midfield
Bellingham and Foden doesn't work. Both are good tens and you can't play with 2 tens. Saka and Gordon can hold the width... Then the midfield will work better
Phil Foden is left footed so these facts need to be checked.
If Stones can’t play.. and with Guehi on suspension.. play a back 3, and put Saka at back left, Trent back right, and Walker at CB.
I would consider playing 3-1-4-2. Let Mainoo play defensive mid. Gordon and Palmer on wings. Foden and Jude in the center. Kane and Watkins up top. Alternatively could play 3-5-2. Gordon and Palmer on wings. Kane and Watkins up top. Foden at 10. Jude and Rice in the middle.
It’s just a fact - this experiment of Foden on the wing, Jude at 10, and Kane at the 9, with Saka on the wing, is simply not working. They are going to LOSE against the Swiss if they refuse to change this formation.
Saka would have to defend a bit..?
I just spoke to Roy Hodgson and he’s adamant Kane should take the corners 😂
Gareth is afraid of players who take risks. He has played every single midfielder except from wharton.. the only player who loves to play forward.. yet 4 games in and we've played terrible in every game
At 1.11 into the video Dorsett says "Hosts" when he's talking about Switzerland knocking Italy out. Since when were Italy the hosts?
The only changes he'll make is the seat arrangements for the flight home on Saturday night.
Plesse correct yourself. Italy are not the hosts. The hosts are Germany, and we wont be getting knocked out of this tournament.
They think Foden is right footed. 🤦♂
Meant to say holders
Play bellinghamd as a no.8
Play foden no 10
Bring in Palmer and Gordon on the wings
We need width!!!! Saka and Foden refuse to
We should switch to a back 3. Walker Konsa and Stones and Trippier, Trent as wing backs and bellingham and rice as a double pivot. I think the front 3 should be toney, Kane and Palmer
facts are most goals are scored between 3 to 5 passes , when you delay by keeping slow passing and possession , then you cant catch the opposition by surprise or a break as most defenses are reset and waiting while you dilly on the ball, losing ground as you do it. quick wide players to get around the defenses is required . even great ball players like grealish ( and i like his work) taking on players then need to pass back all the time . then its congested in the defense and opposing box.
My Uncle was the head coach of the FA. His name was Charles Hughes. He did research that discovered that most goals were scored from five passes or less. Unfortunately, this was misinterpreted and it led to England's famous 'humph it up to the striker' strategy, when really all my Uncle meant was to be quick and decisive once in possession because the opposition would be most vulnerable.
How was the last game we played 3 at the back vs Germany, we played 3 at the back vs Italy and lost - looked poor after the goal and lost the midfield battle
Keyboard managers are hilarious 😂
Safegate should let his assistant choose the starting line up, surely he’s got more common sense to change the tactics aswell
If they stick to a back 4, bring Wharton in, Get Rice driving as an 8 and keep Bellingham in the 10. Saka and Gordon each wing. Wharton is the Carrick type solution.
Talking facts. He’s better than Rice
@@tshepomokoena5246 Wharton is unproven at this level. Thats a step too far. And dont forget he's flourishing under a great coach at Palace whereas this is Southgate who destroys decent players
You can't have Kane, Foden, & Bellingham starting together, especially if you are going to instruct them to do what they have excelled at for their clubs. They all want to occupy the same space and there is not enough interchange. You either need to shoehorn one or two of them into a different role and position, which Southgate has done with Foden at LW - which hasn't worked, or drop one of them. England looked so much better when they took Foden off, put Bellingham in CM next to Rice, and put on Toney as a strike partner for Kane to play behind in CAM.
NOTHING!
Gordon simply HAS to start. But I can see Shaw making an appearance as a sub, which will probably give Southgate an excuse to keep Foden in the starting 11.
I don't think he'll make changes outside of Guehi, who is suspended, and Trippier, who might be injured.
2 changes are forced ie Guehi & Tripper . So ...
Trippier? Is he properly injured?
I'd love to see toney with kane palmer right saka left to start
Without Marc Guehi, England will get embarrassed, i strongly suggest Gallagher to start in a 4-5-1 formation with Gordon on the left because you will need to play on the break for most parts of the game
The problem in midfield is the low block and side ways passes …. In other words no transition game
Gordon made a forward pass that took out 8 Slovenian players. Won't see him again, the risky fool. He's also a PR nightmare, telling the truth and being honest in press duties. Now it's time for my nap...
Do England have a Psychiatrist as well as a physio? Cos Southgate needs urgent help.
We need to treat the last game like a loss and make sweeping changes. Gordon, Palmer and maybe Toney should start.
Median position would be more insightful
Gareth will switch to a 352 - the only formation he knows since El Tel back in 96. Jude up top with H, Foden in a midfield 3 - Saka LWB.
Hope england setup like this against Switzerland.
Kane
Foden Palmer
Saka Bellingham Rice Trent
Konsa Stones Walker
Pickford
We all know he won’t change anything that isn’t beyond his control.
Well Trippier clearly isnt working out on the left... Solve that if anything
These 2 can ramble for England
We need to go back in time and make a young Ryan Gigg declare his English allegiance, travel him to today and play him on the left wing
3 at back is the answer. Gareth got us to WC semis in 2018 in a 3-1-4-2 with less quality players. So I would like to see some variation of this.
Personally I would go to 3-2-4-1 First then if not working Drop the two pivots and have just 1 and bring another striker / Winger to partner Kane.

Needs to go with 2 up front and 5 at the back, Trent and shaw/saka full backs, tuck walker inside with stones and konsa. Rice Bellingham mainoo, kane Toney/watkins
3-5-2 Pickford / Walker-Stones-Konsa / TrentAA-Mainoo-Bellingham-Rice-Saka / Foden-Kane . Defence and PIckford need to trust Mainoo to take ball on half-turn more. Mainoo needs to demand it.
Everyone bashed him for using 3 at the back now saying he needs to
These two are standing unnervingly close

Maino. Bellingham. Foden

The conversation about England is sounding insane because our manager is insane. So wot's the point?
1:10 ‘knocked the hosts out, Italy’?? Is that what he said?
Personally I'd play 3-5-2. Vary up the attack by playing Toney to partner Kane. You will get more out of Kane but you need wingbacks who can moderately defend and provide width/service into the foward line. Up untill now the attack has all been a bit central and narrow, lacking width and pace. Not enough turning opposition defenders around. When you get in behind opposition players they have to watch the ball and the on coming runners into the box.

OP;

Kane and Bellingham need to stay upfront. They need to push the opposition back, to create space.
Kane and Bellingham don't help the ball progression, or help out Saka/Foden/Mainoo, by dropping deep and taking 5 touches on the ball/misplaced passes/lose the ball.
Saka and TAA would create width and Foden finding pockets between the defence/midfield is his game.
Rice and Mainoo can push up to help press/attack knowing they have 3 behind to stop counter attacks.
None other than the enforced guehi, he's incredibly stubborn and has gone down the hole of ignorance
IMO, GS won't change much, Konza obviously but I can see Saka starting ahead of Trippier, Palmer would then start. 3 at the back is an option
Phil is left footed. But likes to drift inside rather than going out wide and crossing
Palmer and Gordon and Toney start button
FODEN is left footed. Don’t know what you’re talking about
