Great lesson! I guess a follow-up vid would be where you like your lathe tool offset point for groovers and threaders? Probably left edge in this videa, but I'm curious curious if it's true for threaders also.
Hi, I work at a sprocket and gear shop and want to start doing some of the grooved parts we have. All of the grooving is done either on conversational or with programs written on conversational and transferred over. My question is if a g75 cycle can be used to cut grooves with chamfers on the walls or of its strictly in and out movements.
It's good that you're always looking for ways to improve because that's how we make money. unfortunately, G75 only makes straight in and out movements. However, you can use the g75 to rough out the groove and then use a g01 to move on a diagonal line to make the final cut on the tapered wall. That's what I ended up doing on this part linked below. I made three different g75 Cycles because my machines memory couldn't hold all the toolpaths that was generated from my cam software but then I copied and pasted the finished pass. I hope this helps and thank you for watching th-cam.com/video/_QF5M_cD4lg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6_-o0YorBk-P3BDh
Good afternoon. If you're referring to the software that I'm using while writing on the Smartboard, I believe it was called smartnote. However, if you have a true touch TV, I am using idea Max. The simulator software is Haas, which, if you don't already have it, is a very useful tool that I use every day in my classroom. If you were to call a Haas dealer in your area, they may be able to get your class a demo version. I have lots of videos your students can reference if needed. Thanks again for watching my video, and good luck.
@mumtajahmad3261 Unfortunately, the software was already installed when I started, so I don't have a link to any of it. However, a local Haas representative should be able to hook you up for a reasonable price. Thanks for watching
Great video, the diagram clearly explains the direction of each parameter and how they are measured
Thank you very much for watching. Just having a visual idea of how this works is super helpful to my students

Thank you for the comment and for watching. I have another video on how to program threading but can't remember if I go over how to set

Good afternoon aaron, is it possible to contact you via any of the messengers??
What about U and W
U and w on a lathe work like G91 on a mill without having to command g91
