WOW That’s beautiful! I’ve been wanting to do Northern Lights so I’m definitely trying this. I love your tutorials no matter what the length is. You deserve to do short ones too, and give yourself a bit of a break. Everyone needs to relax and recharge sometimes.
Magical! I was always curious about the technique used for the northern lights effect, and watching you making this doesn’t look as intimidating and intriguing as it seemed. Thank you for another excellent tutorial. Your step-by-step instructions with just the right amount of explanations make everything so pleasant to follow! You are such a wonderful teacher!
Beautiful!! So thankful that I found your channel. Have wanted to paint the northern lights and your tutorial is so helpful. Now I know where to start.
Hi Joni thanks for all the tutorials and especially the videos on brushes and what individual ones are good for all information is really useful especially at the beginning like me. I followed your techniques in this video but not the exact picture but I suppose if we all did the same it’d be boring. So thanks for everything. PS have done a couple of Northern Light painting but I found your technique the easiest to follow, I hope everyone gives it a go. ❤
Wow, i really love this 🤩 You are so talented 👍🏻😃👍🏻 I’m very fascinated and totally mesmerised by northern lights and i enjoy everytime there is a sun storm so i can watch northern lights from my window 😊
Thanks so so much for this video. I drew mine and I love it so much. I couldn’t make it so vibrant like yours. I really like the way u guided step by step how to do it. Appreciate your video so much!
I was looking for a video of the northern lights for a kids craft fair in a few months to sell and I’ve gotta say, I love how it turned out, might be one of my favorites I’ve made for the fair!❤
After viewing the blue northern lights tutorial I came straight to the play lists 😊😅 More Aurora Borialis yipppeeee lol😂 This is so cool, im so excited hon, biggest thanku ❤❤❤

Blending brush omg!! It's so hard to do northern light with acrylic because it dries so quickly and it always looks too defined at least with me. What a concept. Thanks so much! Going to buy some brushes and try this.
Hi beautiful soul! So fun to see you’ve painted Aurora borealis… turned out magical!! Thank you for staying active on here, it’s very inspiring. I’m meaning to do a painting come back on here too 🙂 Much love to you my dear! Xx
I have a question....I've followed several of your painting tutorials for Northern lights and I"m not sure what I'm doing wrong, but my paint dries in seconds so when I flick up, it leaves a very obvious (not pretty) dried outline of the original paint line and then flicks some of the paint up, but it's really really noticeable and looks bad. What am I doing wrong? I'm going almost as quickly as you are, but the blending and wetness just isn't there.
Hey Joni! I've been watching your videos since late last year when I decided to start painting and they have been so very helpful! So thank you so much for that. I've watched several videos of people doing the northern lights, but I could never figure out how they got the color with it, and now I know how to do it!!! I do have a quick question though... I usually use canvas panels and I've had a few occasions where I painted them black to do a painting. However, I noticed that when I do that, when I use a bright red paint, it always dries to be really dark and rather muted or dull. Like all the vibrance is just gone. This has happened to me with several different brands of paint too. Is there something I'm doing wrong or anything I can do to prevent this from happening?? I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much!!! That has been driving me crazy for a long time now trying to figure out how to get it right! I will definitely try it out (hopefully later today)! Thanks again. 🙂💖
Hello, do you think this would work well on a 3d surface as well? I'm painting a snow dragon miniature and I wanted to do black wings with Northern lights
Wow, I just discovered your channel. I want to start painting with acrylics and am so glad I found you. You are a gift to all of us, spreading creativity and teaching us to get in the flow. Bless your heart. 🫶🏼
I am looking to do this on a wall mural for my girls. Would this work with wall paint? Do they make a large blending brush? Could be hard on a large wall with a small brush
I painted my canvas black, which lifted as soon as I got it wet. Plus my white kept turning grey. I am assuming I should have spray painted the canvas black and not used acrylic...
The acrylic shouldn’t lift if it’s completely dry, I use acrylic paint or gesso for pre painting my canvases. watercolour or gouache will lift but not acrylics. Sorry this happened to you, dont give up and try again❤️ hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions Cindy xo
Fantasmalogical! You paint with such grace, ease and beauty. Thanks for sharing!

Is your flat brush dry too?
Hey Joni! I've been watching your videos since late last year when I decided to start painting and they have been so very helpful! So thank you so much for that. Thanks for your comment and question. Adding a bit of white first, let dry then add your red😉 only way for it to pop when painting on a dark canvas.
Uneven surfaces are a little more difficult but you can do it! I bet it will look great ❤️
Well I tried my own version using your helpful tips it doesn’t look as great as yours but I tried !!
Great job!
Does it work if I just paint it black
I'm about to try it on a black painted canvas , so I'll let ya know.

Where can I buy a slanted mop brush
Angle mop, art stores and makeup brushes 😉
