So I just booked the Lot 10/North Lot. Previously I've booked Flagstaff covered parking with a shuttle. The two issue I've had before with parking is 1) the wait times getting back to the parking lot at the end of the cruise can be 10-20+ mins. 2) I have difficulty getting into/out of the shuttles. With Lot 10 we can short walk directly to our car and get out of there. No waiting around and dealing with crowds. No shuttle to deal with. It cost a little more but that's saved as there's no need to tip anyone.
This has been so helpful thank you so much! Going on Harmony of the Seas in December and while we are super familiar with cruising out of Galveston, this will be the first time with Royal and not Carnival!
Thanks for this video! I recently booked Allure for September and had no idea about how parking at the new terminal works. We normally use Park N Cruise which isn't an option for Terminal 10 since they have no shuttle. Since it wasn't a huge difference in price between all the Terminal 10 lots, I just booked the North Lot.
Helpful video thank you! My fiancée & I are talking about a cruise on Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon. Though we just got engaged New Years Day '23 so it's still in the works. And neither of us have ever been on a cruise ship before.
This is a super helpful video! I've been binge watching quite a few of your videos over the past few days and really appreciate all the thoughtful detail y'all include.
Thanks so much for this really well done video! I've been looking, almost daily, for a video showing the arrival at Terminal 10 so that I'm in the know for my Feb. cruise. Lots of videos for the terminal but none with detailed info about the arrival at the terminal. Your details are exactly what I was looking for! 💜🛳
Very helpful information. We haven’t sailed from Galveston yet but will reference this video when we do. And thanks for showing Joanne eating something at the very end. 🤣
This was great info! Head out on the Allure next month and was trying to decide which lot to use. By the way, I notice in your video at 3:12 that there was a sign to the right of your arrow that says Parking 14 with an arrow pointing straight ahead. Still a bit confusing though.
This is great. We only live about 15 miles away but getting offloaded and in is a big production number because I have what I lovingly call my "Behemoth" electric wheelchair that my husband has to offload via ramps. So we need to go up to the drop off to do that and our bags while he goes off to park in the North lot. I really wish I had watched this before I booked the lot, I missed the discounts. Oh well, we're doing it again, I'm sure. Last year we went on Adventure of the Seas out of Galveston. I have a 32 inch stainless water bottle that I carry literally everywhere because my medication makes my mouth very dry all the time. Last time, the security guy was going to make me dump it out to go in. I managed to drink enough to hand it to my husband to dump, but the security guy laughed, saying that if I could drink that much of it, I could go on through. I'm hoping your comment about more than 4 oz is going to help. Did you happen to notice if there was bottled water in the vending machines? We're leaving the 30 May for the 7-day and I'm busy doing last minute stuff. Thanks for the video!
Our pleasure- thank you so much for the comment! 😊 Yeah they shouldn't be making you dump out water- like you we also bring in a stainless steel water bottle that is usually still half-full at that point, and never had an issue. I think they're more concerned about guests sneaking in alcohol, so at worse you can have them smell it and it shouldn't be a problem. And yup they were selling bottled water at the fast drinks vending machine. Have a wonderful cruise!
I always park at indoor parking they do the same thing. But the shuttle buses load our bags right were the porter is to take our luggage and put them on the carts and when the cruise is over there is always a shuttle bus waiting to pick us up. Thanks for the info
Gŕeat info but it still looks confusing to me. Where would you leave your luggage? Would taking a taxi to the port be easier? Thanks for showing/sharing this info.
Anytime! 🙂 I should've been more clear but you would leave your luggage with a porter at the area called "Luggage Dropoff" (5:10) at the terminal on the outside.
I am a new subscriber would like to thank you for all the information that you work so hard for to put on here for everybody I wasn't aware of this port so I definitely going to check into it and take a cruise on on the 7-Day Cruise if possible never been on this ship before so I can't wait to check all the things out I just don't know where to call or who to call to get prices on the ship itself and the name of the ship thank you so much for for all the information that you have given God bless from the state of Oklahoma Latin Okie
Our pleasure- thank you so much for the comment & subbing! 😊 Happy to help as we want fellow travelers to avoid our mishaps. Have a wonderful cruise on the Allure- you're in for a great time!
I really enjoy your videos as I think others do too. You seem to be an expert on cruises. What do you use to book your cruises. I have usually gone with Costco or something similar. You might even consider booking a family and fans cruise where your subscribers can all join in the fun. Keep up the good work!
You're very welcome! Nope we've never seen them enforce those times. You can show up earlier no problem which is what we've always done. Have a great cruise!
Great video. 11 days until Allure of the Seas! We watched all your videos from Allure!! You mentioned Jubilee in the parking video. Are you guys on the inaugural sailing?!?
Thank you very much! 😊 Nope not on that sailing but hopefully get to cruise on the Jubilee in the future. Have a fantastic cruise on the Allure- she's an amazing ship!
Does any parking lot have an advantage in exiting the area faster once you leave the parking lot to go home? Meaning avoiding congestion on the way out. Also, would it be better to drop our luggage off before we park? We have a family of six.
I would imagine the lots further away would be quicker. But I don't recommend dropping off luggage first since it's super congested around the terminal building- you'd experience the wait we had to endure. Though if you must drop them off 1st then it'd be about an extra 30 minutes, but worth it if the luggage is too much for your family to carry.
@@TravelTouristVideos Thanks for the info. I ended up getting a covered parking spot in the north lot. Up until yesterday, there were none available. So when I saw it, I grabbed it before it was gone. Paid a little more, but I did manage to get a $15 discount on it. And now, we are right at the terminal. One more question. What is the best way to get into the north lot? Royal Caribbean circle or way?
Thank you, love the video. So we can take a yellow taxi to the terminal? I have heard that some terminals don't allow taxi's or Uber. I appreciate the information.
I use private parking several blocks away and we are taken to the terminal on a bus. This company picks us up after the cruise at the terminal and delivers us to our car. The cost is about, $80.
You bet! They do offer wheel chair assistance- just let them know 30 days advance: www.royalcaribbean.com/experience/accessible-cruising/additional-assistance
You can even take your own wheelchair if you like. Scooters are also ok up to a certain width due to hallway width and doorway widths. I would suggest you book an accessible cabin so that you have plenty of room to drive your scooter into the cabin, because regular rooms just don't have enough space and you're not supposed to leave scooters in the hallway, because it restricts traffic flow and makes it hard for the room stewards to get their carts thru . . . Some people still leave scooters in the hallway, but it is discouraged. I think people just don't realize how difficult, if not impossible, it will be to drive thru a non-accessible cabin door, so by the time they find out, it's too late, they and the scooter are already on the cruise ship.
Yes you're right- though it would've been nice to have a sign on the right side before the intersection because by instinct you'd look toward the terminal. On the shuttle we spoke to several other people who said they had trouble finding the lot (lot 14) as well.
Our pleasure! The Pier 14 indoor lot wasn't finished when we went, but apparently it's been open for a few months now. There's a new coupon code as well for $5 off: MEMORIALDAY23
@@TravelTouristVideos thank you for the reply and the coupon code ! I already prepaid and booked with another coupon code but I appreciate it! The video was very very helpful 🙂
Is it a long walk from north parking to the terminal ? Also ate porters available there to help w luggage ? Hard to juggle everything when two hands are on a scooter . 😮Thanks !
It's a bit of a walk, but you and your luggage can be dropped off and then the car can then be parked. You would check your luggage with porters outside the terminal and the luggage would be delivered to your room before the ship sails.
Question: will they let you check in before 9:30-10 and let you relax in lounge until boarding begins? Our driver is dropping us off early, so they can pu disembark group.
That's a bit early, but you should be able to get in and wait at the second level lounge area after the last guests have disembarked hopefully by 10 am. Have a great cruise!
