True classics! I'm lucky to still have my originals.

Saw them advertised in Dragon. Always wanted them. I've read two of them and they are great.

I have loved these 3 books for years. I bought them new when they first came (yes, I'm THAT old, lol). I tried the Compleat Alchemist. My DM of the time let me run an alchemist character AND a sorceror as a pair of PCs. It was cool, except the DM wasn't really interested in dealing with the alchemist wanting to look for herbs and rare earth's. He wasn't into it much, then that campaign came to an end. That fizzled and that was that. I've been wanting to use the Alchemist book again for years, but I've thought for a long time that I would want home brew it a bit because it's really not that great as a player character class. I would want to adjust it a bit so it could work better for that.
Check out The Arcanum, also by Bard Games

I have not seen the originals around, but I know there is a newer version (which doesn't look the same really. I forget the name of it though.
