    Great video but I have a question. So you have the SUBWOOFER PREAMP (1 with a Y, or 1 and 2) to the CD INPUT (R and L) and the passive subwoofer connected to the ZONE 2 Speaker output.
    Question: If the SUBWOOFER PREAMP OUTPUT is already input to CD INPUT, how do you input your source music to CD INPUT if it’s already connected?
    I can see how you can connect to another source (other than CD INPUT) for the main source for FRONT, LEFT, SURR R, SURR L, CENTER speakers) but how does ZONE 2 see this source if it’s not connected CD INPUT?

    My passive subwoofer has a crossover and it seems to be interfering with the bass management of my receiver and causing the sub to sound boomy and muddy. Do you have to suggestions to get around or help this

      Put the cross over to maximum on your subwoofer. Adjust crossover inside your receiver. My sub has 35-150 crossover. I put it at 150. Inside my receiver, I put crossover frequency as 110 according to my needs.

      I'm sorry but it must support multilane in order to work this way (adding passive subwoofers).

    For passive subwoofer problem a passive subwoofer crossover can fix it

    Luckily these acoustimass module are easy to drive.

      Yes, these are 2 subwoofers in the box so you can arrange them in 2 or 8 ohms. I took them from the acoustimass 5 series 2 or something like that, they had a 5.1 amplifier but I remove it because I could not make it work with other equipments.

    Thanks for the video. I have Onkyo TX-SR494 AV Receiver and need amp to power two Acoustic Audio HDS10 in Wall 10" subs. Can you recommend a sub amp to match the AV R around 80 watts at 8 ohms each channel? Thanks.

      @@Letsdosomethinguseful Thanks for replying. Well I have an old Onkyo 7.1 receiver in which I am currently only using 2 front speakers (stereo) but I just recently bought a 12 woofer and built a box for it. I would like to add it to my receiver as 2.1 but it is passive. What do you recommend is the best way to add it and I am confused about the part in your video about the Y splitter. Also will I be able to use the subwoofer for movies considering I am using optical to connect to my TV?

      @@Rs74768 Did you watch my other video on how I did the same setup on an Onkio? the "Y" rca is just if you need bass on both Chanels and your receiver only has 1 "Sub Pre out". The "Y" rca is not necessary if you are using just one of the 2 "zone 2" Chanels or outputs (if you are going to connect just one subwoofer) or if your receiver already has 2 pre outs for the subwoofer.

      @@Letsdosomethinguseful Yes I watched your other video but it is in Spanish so it wasn't 100% clear to me. Yes I am only connecting 1 subwoofer. And will I be able to use this setup for music and movies. I am using opt cable to connect to my tv

    • @Letsdosomethinguseful
      @Letsdosomethinguseful  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rs74768 Well, in that case, the "Y" RCA connector won't be necessary, just connect 1 RCA from the sub pre out to the input you have selected for ZONE 2 and connect the subwoofer (speaker) to the corresponding side (left or right, depending where did you connected the RCA).
