    I have lived in Forney since 2010…coming from San Diego. We love it here! Affordable homes for sure. We have great school! Wonderful churches and a small town vibe that’s super close to Dallas. Yes we have larger communities with more rental homes but that doesn’t have to be negative. I live and work here. I teach on the north side and I pour into this community every single day. Yes the traffic is terrible but it will improve! That is one of the biggest cons for sure. #forneyfamily choose Forney!

      @LIVING IN DALLAS TEXAS What we love about Devonshire is the community. This is a great community to live and play. The HOA's puts out activities for all ages to engage and to know your neighbors all throughout the entire year. Also, we love that everything is relatively accessible. Cities like Terrel, Rockwall, and Heath are not far to get to bars or restaurants. 😊

    Traffic sucks as they haven’t caught up the amount living there ….but, take it like sweat equity if you will…a little patience with your neighbor out there, & eventually the roads will catch up & by then that’ll jack up your value.

    How is it working in Forney but living in downtown, or Deep Ellum area?? Is it rough to go back & forth? & what about public transportation for that route?? Moving to Dallas area in a few weeks, curious. My job will be in Forney. Thanks!

    • @LIVINGINDALLAS
      @LIVINGINDALLAS  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should be headed opposite of traffic during commute times so it should be fairly easy

  • @BrStu-t3l
    @BrStu-t3l 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    No one ever mentions the fact that for years the Trinity River valley is what kept a natural barrier between DFW and Forney. Also 80 is terrible traffic but I20 is still decent. Though homes are being built like crazy and that I20 commute while easier today may start to take a hit in a year or two. The big traffic nightmare is the rail road is busy and cuts the town in half. So when a train comes the whole city comes to a stop.

    • @LIVINGINDALLAS
      @LIVINGINDALLAS  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for tuning in, and thanks for the insights! While the railroad situation can be a challenge, maybe those intermittent stops are everyone’s much-needed break. Looking on the bright side... ☺

    I live in Forney. I like it here. People are nice and the city is calm and quiet, a good mix of country feel and small town. If you live in South Forney commute to downtown/uptown Dallas is easy with I-20. Wish they expand the other roads sooner.
    If you need new construction and you have families/friends living in Mesquite, Sunnyvale or Garland, Forney is the best place to be. That's the reason I brought the house here instead of North Dallas suburbs like Prosper, which is just too far from Dallas.

    What is the best area in Dallas Region to live if you have a 4th grader who requires ALP/Honors classes and plays football, and a 9th grade girl also in Honors Classes and plays women's flag football? We are Colorado Natives and want to get out of here! The only thing stopping us is our kids are stable in their schools and sports and we want to put them in a area where there are lots of kids their ages at this very important time in their life. I dunno, man. I've seen a couple of videos here and your focus seems to be on a kind of living I don't want. Tightly packed suburbs, country clubs and resorts, lake trips and boat ownership. And I'd almost bet real money that these "charming" little planned communities are all HOAs, which is a hard no for me. Do people really want to buy one of a set number of house designs next to neighbors also living in those designs, scant feet away from your neighbor's walls, in an absolute sea of identical streets, policed by a tiny private government that can, if things go pear-shaped, actually place a lien on your house? I mean... isn't that kinda creepy? All the same colors inside, all the same colors outside. This is how horror movies start. "Master-planned communities" gives me the willies.

      Hi there! Thanks for tuning in! 'Tyranny' might be a strong word, considering Texas does offer some trade-offs for the high property taxes. But yes, a lot of people struggle with balancing their emotional ties to a state and the practical aspects of living there. Where do you live now?

    Please don’t move to Forney. Traffic congestion is horrendous. Main hwy is under construction and will be for at least a few more yrs. Taxes are outrages because of the massive implosion of people and businesses. The planning commission messed our town up. The new houses are very small and close together. Quite a bit of section 8. A lot of gang activity this past year. Shootings and car theft as well as robberies. This past year has run down our community and the city has not kept up with providing police force needed. Forney was wonderful country town. The Heritage Hills, Gateway Park and Windmill Farms areas are going criminal very quickly.

      No that’s not progress that’s called urbanizing and ruining a small country town. I moved from Los Angeles to forney to escape the modern dystopian American city. In just 4 years the city turned into an unrecognizable concrete jungle. Keep your housing projects out of our towns!!!!

    What we have here is phishing at its best! This guy is trying to ransom your brain, if you have one, that there’s something special about forney. Folks, forney has turned into pleasant grove, Balch springs and oak cliff combined. Unfortunately section 8 has taken over and destroyed forney. Wind mill farms, Travis ranch, trinity crossing, clements ranch. They are all riddled with unsavory minorities that brought the baggage from their prior residence that I mentioned earlier. If you want peace and a HOA that’s worth your money, move up north to celina, prosper or Frisco. Making forney your choice for happiness is one you’ll regret!

      I live in forney. It's a great place for families, especially families that use the public school system. They have great opportunities and programs dedicated to kids in public school. They just recently built the OC, where kids can even work and learn to manage businesses. Lots of great things for kids here.
      If you live here, I suggest pick a community on the south side of 80. Crime is higher on the north end and the schools are not as good as the south side of forney. It is pricier on the south side, but there is a reason for that. Some of the neighborhoods on the north side are sketchy and unsafe. I would not risk it, even if the housing is cheap. You get what you pay for! I have learned that.
      That being said, we love our house on the south side. It is an amazing house with a pickleball court in the backyard. It is a house we would never have been able to afford if we lived north of Dallas. The location is close to Dallas, I'm actually surprised it's only just starting to boom with growth. We love our backyard, our lot and everything about our house. Our neighborhood is a well established neighborhood. It's safe and the people are friendly. Every once in a while we get people outside the neighborhood trying to take over our community pool but now we have a security guard so the feel is safe and organized. My community is called fox hollow. Great place. Great people. Close to stores and right across from our community park, where they have tons of kid community sports and activities, including a playground and a splash pad. This place is growing, lots more restaurant options coming to forney....Costco, HEB, target, and im surd the list will get longer and longer. I'm already seeing so much growth.
      The traffic is annoying trying to cross the tracks, but they are building more grocery stores on this side of the tracks so that will make it better. Tom thumb is opening up soon.
      For the price, forney is worth it. You can get way more for your money. But you have to be careful about where you pick in Forney. South side of 80 and South of the tracks is more expensive but worth paying for, in my opinion of course.
      I'm currently selling my house in forney, but only because my kids are on a swim team in Rockwall that we have to drive to daily right now. We will miss our house. I have found the people in Forney to be super friendly and have had a fun time in Forney. If you'd like to take a look at a house that is amazing and inexpensive, in a great community, close to shopping.
