I have a stoeger cougar with decocker in .40 s&w.. I bought way back in 2006.. I use it as a nightstand gun.. Back when they still in business I purchased a ramlite magnetic light and laser unit.. And it's rock solid. I wish ramlite would have taken off its a fantastic product for non rail guns but they never gained traction. That being said the stoeger is my favorite gun to shoot. Very accurate and the recoil is more manageable than my xdm 45 I usually carry..
My 9mm Cougar has been my carry weapon since the 90s. I've loved it from the start. Fits my hand, no plastic, decock safety and 15 in the mag. And I just bought a Kydex, IWB holster for it off of Amazon - they are available.
I love that he said "It's what I could get I'm happy to have it." That simple statement alone says a hell of a lot about this guy. My first time watching him today. That impressed me
Bought mine off a deputy sheriff when the department switched to S&W. Love it in 40. Bought 2. One for the missus. It's second in my ccw rotation behind my 1911 only because the only decent holster I've found is the owb pancake that came with the purchase.
I smothered my stoeger cougar 8000 f 9mm in oil also. It was bone dry. Came with 2 15 round magazines and original box. I've fallen in love with it, and I've only had it a month.
Own the 9mm Stoeger, had it for many years. Great all metal gun. More compact than 92FS. Unique rotating barrel design. Very well made, very tight. Every bit a Baretta. It was a bargain 15 years ago, I think I paid $350 for it new. Like you said, not practical for EDC since there's no holsters or accessories but great house gun or range gun.
I fired 1500 cartridges in a year with the 9 mm Stoeger Cougar FL, it fed, fired and evacuated all of them, zero problems, great mechanical durability, a perfectly working system.
when i got into berettas i didnt have much money. i bought a taurus 92 carry model and fell in love. but there were things that made me buy a real beretta. it shot great, but locked up the barrel would almost touch the slide on the right at the front.. the day my ex wife divorced me i bought the beretta m9 replica, something about that perfect ring of gap around the barrel to slide fit makes everything ok in life. and then i met my staccato...
I stumbled upon these things purely by accident and must say that they are amazing for the price point. Trigger is fantastic, they're reliable as anything you can think of, and pretty darn accurate too! I also find the recoil far less snappy than anything else that I've tried.
The double action is really long and hard to judge. But for a duty handgun it’s fine. Single action is pretty decent. I have the stoeger 9mm version. I want to say it’s 13+1
great video... I do carry a stoeger cougar .40 with a interchangeable .357 sig barrel... This is my carry from nov-jan .. we carried them before I retired.. on the range it's shot every 2 months (in the rotation of pistols) I do prefer the .40, .357 sig and .357 mag...
I have a Beretta 8040G Cougar full size and I love it. Not a caliber snob, but I'm definitely a 9mm shooter, but this thing handles about the same as my CZ 75 Compact or the Walther P88 Compact. Great gun.
You perhaps know this but if you find a 9mm slide you can just throw it on there when you want to shoot 9mm. The same frame was used for both calibers. That is, if you have the 9mm magazines.
Just bought the Stoeger 8045 (45acp) on Gunbroker (which means I paid too much). It was just delivered today so I haven’t had it out to the range yet. But I like the design, I had a Px4 storm and I liked the rotating barrel. Looking forward to shooting it.
Back in 2017 I was shopping for a Taures 9mm until I saw this for 300 bucks. Held it in my hand and said this is basically a Beretta for 300 dollars. Bought it right there and never regretted it. Has been a great firearm. It's the 40S&W like yours
Cool pistol. I think Leonardo DiCaprio shot one of these with a silencer on it in the movie Inception, but it doesn’t looks like it’d be practical to put A silencer on in real life. I’m getting into Berettas too - the pistols are great but I actually got an ARX-100 rifle and I’m pretty impressed with it. Shame they never caught on here. Would love to hear your thoughts on the ARX!!
its the same pistol , just bigger caliber and a different name/company that makes them . down the line , still a Beretta , as it is a Beretta design and the same Beretta materials and parts , made by the same machines . it does not matter if its an Italian working the machines or a Turk . same good quality pistol is being pressed out every time . what difference is choices in caliber , and handling during shooting of anytime else then the og 9 the og Beretta shoots .
if the cougar and 92 series have similar barrels. with a .40 you should be able to just swap in a 9mm barrel. if not, then buy a 9mm barrel from stoeger and swap it out to 9mm.... thats the beauty of .40. i have a h&k usp .40, but i bought a fire dragon barrel in 9mm for it just because im a fan of 9mm. almost universally a .40 is a 9 but a 9 cant be a 40
I guess I’m one of the lucky ones. I own an actual Beretta 8000 F Cougar L (rotating barrel) in 9mm with a 3.5 in barrel. It’s about an inch shorter compared to my FS. You said you have the full size Cougar? How big is the barrel?
Quite a lot of recoil, that makes me laugh. Having shot. 44 magnum for many years I can't understand how any .40 can produce a lot of recoil. Sounds like you have been a lawman, that would explain .a lot.
I have the 40 and too heavy for me to carry although I like a full size pistol, may have shot 25 to 30 rounds out of it and is trying to get rid of it.... awesome pistol though.

I had one in .45. Good gun. I bought a PX4 because I liked the gun so much.

I think they deserve more attention than they get v

They are definitely an under rated pistol.

The tourrette's at the opening, brilliant!
Quality high-point. 3 words I’ve never heard in one sentence before, lol.
Best intro, I took this gun off an enemy and loved it lol

I have the 9mm cougar 8000, love it. Never had a problem with it. Good balance. Easy to shoot.

Cool. Keep me posted on your shooting experience
I took it off a bad guy years ago is an interesting way to find out about a new gun
Bad guys often had the new stuff.

Is that a VZ 26 on the wall behind you? If yes ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Great gun 👍👍👍👍
Yes. It has the 9mm barrel in it
I have an 8000F in 9mm. Thousands of rounds through it and never had a jam.
Well, seems like Scott caught a new addiction
Yeah. It will be one of those things to watch auction sites for
It's has rail in 8000 FT MODEL
I BOUGHT 6 MONTHS BACK VERY VERY RELIABLE.
Awesome Little Pistol! Great Video
I have a 9mm cougar. Bought it in 2011. My first gun I ever bought and I love it.

I don’t have an arx. No one I know has one so I can’t give an honest opinion.
@@psp1921tsmg bummer, maybe someday you’ll come across one 🤞

I've wanted a Beretta 85FS as a off duty gun for years now. This video may have changed my mind.
Has quite a jump to it. Then makes it look like a .22 lmao
👍
I have this gun, I like it, I also have the 9mm and it’s great.
No muzzle flip at all, for either of you, in that video... go shoot a 40 Glock, then shoot the Cougar and compare.

I think the 40 and the 9 are the same. Website says 3.6 inches.
Smae barrel size just grip is short and full
I saw one at a gunshow for $425
Quite a lot of recoil, that makes me laugh.

I have found a 9mm. Vid coming soon but sorry I’m keeping the .40
@@psp1921tsmg gotcha. Think you can help me find one?
