    Very happy to have come across your video! Ive wanted a px4 for years but needed a metal frame, recently learned about the 8000 couhars and am trying to decide between the stoeger and beretta. Thank you for making this

    I picked up a Stoeger 9mm quite a few years ago at Academy Sports. Mine came in a plain brown cardboard box. Weeks later a friend got one there and it came in a plastic case. I got some factory Beretta mags. for it off Gunbroker. Mine shoots well and it's rotating barrel action is interesting.

    I’ve owned 2 Beretta Cougar 9m and 40 and had Stoeger Cougar 40 . Needed some cash and sold all of them. Big regret. Both Great pistols and well made. Shooting 40 in those guys feels like a breeze. I guess it has to do with the rotating lock. Thank you for the review

    I think your stoeger had a replacement guide rod and central block installed.. They came with a polymer rod and the same bloch without the notch as the Beretta. I've seen older videos of people replacing the upgraded block and steel rod that they purchased through Beretta for the stoeger. which now isn't available.. My stoeger cougar is 18 years old and still has the original polymer rod with no issues..

    • @psp1921tsmg
      @psp1921tsmg  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think they changed stuff as they went. I did a comparison between beretta and stoeger the central block on all stoegers were the same the beretta was different there was no tail and recoil rods are different. The video is on this channel.

    I picked up a Beretta 8000 9mm a little bit ago, after wanting one for many, many years. It was in cherry condition, seemed d*mn near brand new, all original paperwork and packaging . . . but sadly, with California mags (10rd). Is there any source that you know of for mags for those, other than ProMag (they're crap mags)?

      But thanks for the suggestion. I guess I just need to keep looking.

    Great video, thanks! I have a Stoeger 8000 in 9mm and it came with an extra recoil spring. I'm assuming that it's a heavier spring for the hotter NATO ammo. There is nothing in manual that references this. Any idea where to get the metal recoil spring guide? I looked everywhere I could think of.

      Actually the sights can be off. Even the brand new ones. How do I know? I have several pairs of the same pistol with consecutive numbers. Some of them are even special runs. For example Beretta M9's and CZ 75B 30th Anniverrsary editions. In both cases one of each pair's sights were off where as the one was a tack driver. Nothing big and a couple of minutes of work solved the problem. So yes, even one of the two of the same guns that were manufactured maybe minutes apart may have the sights off. And I'm a shooter. If I own a gun I shoot it tegularly.
