I've always loved this arrangement. Though I adore classic calypso, this arrangement is even superior to the original calypso song. Great choice for your repertoire!
Credit where it's due: the original string arrangement for Van Dyke's record was done by Gordon Marron, who was a part of a very interesting and peculiar band from that era called The United States of America, who had one LP on Columbia.
@@sunkintree Marron was very involved in Discover America, but I'm pretty sure that "4 Mills Brothers" was arranged by Kirby Johnson. VDP certainly could have done it himself, but he's always been eager to enjoy the fruits of collaboration; his respect for artists like Marron and Johnson beautifully demonstrates that.
