- This week we was lucky enough to have a play with the brand new Minelab Manticore so we thought as we was on Day 2 of the awesome weekenrer at detectival we sould use this time to put it up against the Minelab Equinox 800 and compare the signals. Hope you guys enjoy.

i wasnt that keep on the manticore if i was been honest, i liked the nox 900 a bit more on a first outing, i guess its just that i need more time with a new machine but the little time i did have made me not want to buy it :-( and i really wanted too as well hahaha

Haha defo a bit of new machine syndrome 🤣 but I really did feel like it had its issues as it was not as some as the Equinox ect. It was just super noisy

Good afternoon, I'm interested in starting to detect along with my brother but obviously don't want to spend too much in case I don't continue with the hobby. However, having said that is it ever worth paying sub £150 for a detector? Any advice welcome. Cheers.
Hey mate, my advice would to have a look on Facebook for a second hand vanquish 340, you should be able to pick one up for that price :-) belting machine for the money for sure.. LP also have a few starter packs with all the gear that are great value. They also do finance that's great too. Here is a link to one of them bundles collabs.shop/cxuhj4

Can you advise what settings you use on the non 800.
We just use the factory setting for Field one and ajust the sensitivity :-)

Hi guys! How are you? I've had minelab equinox 800 for years, then I switched to equinox 900 the rod practically changes but otherwise they are the same, now I have a manticore and there is no comparison with nox 800 and 900, manticore a real beast.
Hey mate 👍 yes it does seem like the manticore is a beast, we only had a day to play with it so was noway near to understanding it haha we need a little longer than a day to get to grips with the beast.

I don't know, Rick does seem to dig a lot less scrap than he used to and what I still do with the 800
