It's 2025. Are you ready to start decluttering? I've started mine, but I'm being more careful than I was in 2024. How do you go about it? "Slow and steady" or "get-it-all-out-of-here-fast!"
I have to do it slow and steady but not always steady 🤭 I have made mistakes listening to others or doing what they suggest. I look at it as it's our home and we need to do it that fits us and our lifestyles. I love your sheep sweatshirt! It is so fun! Snoopy is my favorite too! I think you did a great job on decluttering today!
I love how authentic you are. I think everything in your closet is your style. If you aren't enjoying it you should get rid of it. Try not let other's opinions of your style, get you down. (Ironically, that's my opinion, anyway.) As the kids like to say, "don't let someone else yuck on your yum" Your style isn't hurting anyone. Thank you for sharing your journey!
I declutter slow and steady. If I am unsure about donating something then I keep it until I am sure. My thrift store takes medical equipment like the leg brace/cast you have. Thank you for this great video. I hope you have a great day.
Thanks! That outfit is superb -comfortable so I'm glad I still have it. That's what I find about the T-shirts with words... they inspire me and sometimes, amuse me. It's fun. I don't actually care that they aren't in "syle"!
Thanks! My husband really loves that I grew it out and can wear it different ways. I didn't know that he was missing my longer hair during the 10 years it was short. He's such a kind man that he never said a word until I started growing it out. Then he was a good cheerleader and it helped me through the awkward stages.
I love all of your videos. You do such a great job! Today this video was perfect for me. I had planned to start sorting through my clothing in my closet right after eating lunch (I'm eating lunch right now watching your videos). Thank you so much for your inspiring talk through of clothing decluttering! By the way I love the shirt that some cranky lady said you shouldn't wear! It is sooo cute! Please start wearing it again! It looks like the perfect color and style for your body and personality! Love you.
Great job on getting rid of things you no longer want. I struggle doing this. I’m working through stuff now. I’m not getting rid of as much as I need to.
I’ve found I do it in layers and sometimes, just taking things out randomly works best. Having some bags handy that are dedicated to donations help. I do like to go through thy bags before I take them to the thrift store - just in case. It helps.
Well done for donating your things. I moved house five years ago (we had planned on downsizing but didn’t in the end 😜) and we had a good decluttering of “things” beforehand. I felt so good about doing it so now I should do the same with my clothes!
It does feel good to look in your closet and know that you’d be okay wearing any of it. I think that was my big learning from last year. You should do it!
Rozanne, great job! I did some decor decluttering right after Christmas and had a car load to go. Books and clothes too. Feels good❤ blue is definitely your color!! Looks fantastic on you❤
❤❤ I am also decluttering and finding things that need to be thrown out and replaced. I thought I had a lot of clothing but I wear everything I own. I change them out seasonally (using the tote box method). Thank you for sharing your decluttering tips as I do the same method as you. I have a large family and decluttering everything is not for our family. ❤
Really like your sweater. I have similar health issues to yours and I am nearly 67. I decluttered my closet kept what I know I am going to wear and what's comfortable if not comfortable it gets donated. Oh I rake a coffee break in between with a lazy cat on my lap. Great video
I just purged my closet and have four bins and a couple boxes of clothing, shoes and other necessities to donate. I really bit the bullet and got rid of a lot of stuff that was just taking up space. It feels so good to know that now everything in my closet fits me! To help me decide, I asked myself 1) when was the last time I wore this? and 2) do I like this enough that I would put it on and wear it today?! I still have shirts in my dresser drawers I need to go through. I rarely ever open the drawers, much less wear anything that’s in there. I also realized I don’t have many “work casual” outfits. Everything is jeans and simple tops or work scrubs and work shirts with my employer’s logo. My husband went through a phase recently where he kept buying button up plaid long sleeved shirts for me from Bass Pro Shops. Apparently, there was a good sale! They’re not really my style, but I have to admit they’re very comfortable so I kept them all. I joke that he must think he’s married to a lumbar jack, based on the rather long row of plaid shirts hanging in my closet. My, how things have changed since he first bought me clothing over 20 years ago! 😂
It sounds like you made great progress! You’re going to love your organized closet. Your method of just keeping clothes that fit or you feel good in is a good one. That's how I decided when I did my BIG purge last year. It's so nice that I'm okay with wearing anything in the closet! Yes, clothing has changed but I've also gotten to the point where I don't dress to please otherr, I dress to wear clothing that feels good or that I enjoy. I don't have to worry about it anymore.
Hi Roxanne! I have been continually decluttering my closet often I keep less inventory if clothes each time I go through it. I also keep a basket in my bedroom to put clothes that don’t want when it’s full I take it to goodwill. Basically I wear lounge wear ( comfy clothes) around the house and near nicer clothes when I go to the store etc. so I just require less clothes now aka less laundry. But do typically go through my closet more diligently every spring and fall. Now my husband shares my closet because he is using his closet to store other things so I have less room but he also has less clothes then he use to since he has retired now. He decluttered all his business clothes last year.
Hey Michelle! So great to hear from you. 😀❤️ Gary has been decluttering too. He just made a massive change and it made such a difference. He says that he is going to declutter his clothes next. He had to wear business casual at his last job and now that he’s driving a school bus, he can wear anything (almost).
Fun video ! I love your Ked’s collection . My daughter would be so jealous ! Lol Thank you again for your down to earth decluttering style . I wish more people on u- tube would show a more balanced approach !
Yes you can donate your boot when you broke your foot. I can't believe how similar we are. I use electric rollers too. Have fibromyalgia too. I got my last set of rollers at Di. I would love the chairs you donated.
It is so cool that we have so much in common! I'm glad to know you! I wish I could have given you the chairs. I hope they go to someone who loves them.
Yes you can donate that boot for a broken foot. I donated mine. They can be very expensive for people that don’t have insurance or have bad insurance. The DI has a section for medical supplies like crutches, walkers, things like that usually 😊
You are so sweet. I love your videos. I’m sorry someone was rude and said something didn’t look good on you. I just don’t understand people sometimes. Keep making great videos. Hugs from Colorado.
I have a bag started for Goodwill. I just need to add to it. I do have a pumpkin to donate in the fall. I don't think now is a good time to try to get rid of it. I'm trying to be ruthless but it's hard to get rid of some things. I just have so much stuff!!!
A week before the holidays I put a box out by the mailbox with gently used holiday decor that I had no interest in anymore. I stuck a free sign on it and it was gone within a couple of hours.
The dark colors look nicer against your skin, while the lighter colors wash you out. I know this because we have the same light color tones. A stylist told me this; it is a whole new like buying items now.
I definitely like summer colors best. That sweatshirt is new and wasn’t the color it looked like when I ordered it. I agree that it washes me out. I kept thinking that when I was editing. I’ll probably wear it a bit, but it will likely be decluttered at some point. I’m having a hard time liking it. 🤪
The cool colored tones look better on u instead of the primary bright colors. Try on a bright top and then try on a toned down one. You will notice the bright ones are too flashy and the softer ones give u a glow. Even though stores have these bold primary colors on there racks, doesn’t mean they look good on us.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that. 👍 I mostly get it right with colors, but sometimes they are a little off. Truthfully, I'm more concerned with what feels good to me rather than what other people think. It's taken time to arrive at that point. I grew up in a little town where everyone had something to say about everything you wore. It was like being on display with a crowd of critics. So after I left, and I learned that people generally don''t care, I developed into finding what I like and not worrying about the rest. It's a relieving state of mind.
I had to change a lot of clothes because the colour didn’t go with my newly grown out grey hair, you have a warm skin tone and hair therefore grey is not your colour, you’ll get it right in time.
It's a long story that involves some sleep disorder, Fibromyalgia, not able to use a CPAP machine, failures in different types of beds and eventually finding that I sleep best and feel best if I sleep in the recliner. Not my favorite solution, but since it works, I'm grateful.
WE need to steer away from shirts with logos and writings on them. They make US look like we r trying to look younger than we r. Those shirts should be left for the 20-30 year olds. (Notice I said WE and US).
It sounds like you have found an answer for you. It's important that everyone wears what they enjoy and feel good with. That's what I do. Hope you have a nice day.

Thanks so much for the support. It was nice to read your comment! ❤️
Thank you. I’m going to declutter! I did a little bit this morning. But tired now and I’ll do a little bit every day! 😊
It sounds like you have a great plan! I think that’s the best way, actually. That’s how I do most of mine.
It’s nice u mention the thrift store.Always important to remember those less fortunate.Thanku.🌸🏴
My pleasure 😊 I love to support them!

Roxanne, you really got rid of a lot of stuff! I like your purchases also❣️
It felt good and is encouraging to keep working on it. Thanks!
Good job you!! The feel of the fabric is so important to me too.
Thanks!! I appreciate hearing from you!

Thanks for the tip! I didn’t know that. I’ll give it to them next time and hope for the best!
The "mistake" suits you well, you're looking good, girl👍.
Loved your decisionmaking on your clothes. T-shirts with the right words can lift you up.
Thanks! That outfit is superb -comfortable so I'm glad I still have it. That's what I find about the T-shirts with words... they inspire me and sometimes, amuse me. It's fun. I don't actually care that they aren't in "syle"!
Lovely video, you did so well with your decluttering, i love the way you do your hair like that, really suits you! 😊 ❤ xx

I wear tee shirts all winter because I get hot in heated rooms. Wear very few sweaters.
Love it! I realized later that I do wear them in the winter, but I wear a sweater too. My room gets cold because of the sliding glass windows. 🙂

I love tie shirts too.
This was a fun video!
They’re awesome!

I know just what you mean. I’ve had to realize that I can just do what I can do and call that good. There’s always tomorrow to do something else. 😀
A week before the holidays I put a box out by the mailbox with gently used holiday decor that I had no interest in anymore. I stuck a free sign on it and it was gone within a couple of hours.
That is such a fun idea. I bet your neighbors loved it!
I still have my steam rollers. I also have a steam curling iron! I’m the same age as you.
How cool that you still have yours! I used to have a steam curling iron too but it’s gone. It was green I think.
I started using 28 count and love it. I have trying to use higher count fabrics, like 32 count.
That is great. I love a higher count, too!
Lol. You went for dish towels and came out with a lot more.
I actually was planning on blue dishtowels, washcloths, hand towels, and decor. The videos were extra for sure!

I do this from time to time. But often I give away something I later wish I still had. Oh well.
What was the air freshener you hung in got closet?
It’s called DampRid. I get mine from Amazon. Here’s a link: amzn.to/4gO9jhN
I had to change a lot of clothes because the colour didn’t go with my newly grown out grey hair, you have a warm skin tone and hair therefore grey is not your colour, you’ll get it right in time.

Don’t bother folding clothes. Goodwill dumps it all out
This made me laugh. It’s so true!
