I want to point out that towards the end of this video I said something incorrect. I stated that the TH80 Pro model could be another good option to look at if you don't need the LCD screen and I stated that it is QMK/VIA compatible. This was wrong. The TH80 Pro is not QMK/VIA compatible, it also uses the Epomaker Driver software for customization just like the TH80-X. Apologies for getting that wrong.
This keyboard is on sale for 50 bucks and this helped me go for it. It's so funny tho, I have a G19 sitting in my keyboard graveyard. I didn't think I would ever get another keyboard with a screen on it again. RIP my G15, so many liquids poured on you.
@@Laksilaks They weren't lying. Older versions of this keyboard did ship with 2*4000 mAh batteries, but some time later, they removed one of the batteries for the newer versions. That's why if you open up the keyboard case (not easy), you'll find the slot for an extra battery pack and the pin connector for the 2nd battery on the PCB. Epomaker no longer claim to sell 8000mAh, they now say 4000 mAh. This video is just dated regarding that part.. P.S. if you wanted to, you could mod the keyboard by buying an extra battery pack from AliExpress and attaching it to the keyboard PCB, getting 8k mAh battery
I just got one of these and mine only has a 4000mAh battery. Which is confusing because mine is also a TH80-X. I wonder if there are sub models or something.
I too suspected mine wasnt 8000, my G715 is 3000 and it lasts atleast 20-25 hours on full battery. TH80X can barely stay alive for 8 hours, total false advertisement.
Sounds like either key chatter or unstable connection, to me. I found that the Epomaker Flamingo switches really weren't all that good. In my TH40, I think I had two switches chattering out of the box, which was annoying. It was rectified by changing out the switches. You might also try updating the firmware.
I love the fact that i didn't have to wait forever to hear the typing test. I really wanted to understand the other switch types and their sound as every other video i see has the flamingo. can anyone suggest how their experience may have been with some of other switches gateron yellow / black or wisteria
I don't have the TH80, but I have a TH40 and two other Epomaker keyboards for written reviews, and I've found that, while Bluetooth takes a second to wake, the keystroke always registers when you press it. Quite likely the TH40 is the same.
Do you think you would use the LCD screen on the TH80-X beyond just checking the battery level? Also FYI it is available on amazon now as well as on Epomaker's site: ⭐ Epomaker: semiprotech.link/th80x ⭐ Amazon: amzn.to/3Of5aX9 (affiliate links)
They must have changed it - check out this other review video from 3 months ago and you can see on their website it said 8,000mAh at the time: th-cam.com/video/W6NhLnlDLzM/w-d-xo.html
@@semiprotech Ahh yes I see, its just that the amazon site says its 4000mah, unsure if this is wrong. Bought this keyboard, just unsure how one checks if its 8000mah or not. The manual says its 8000 but cant really pin point it on the software. Or that I have the 8000mah. Btw your review made me wanna buy it. So thanks man.
Allright, found out that the amazon link you have in the decrption and on amazon in general they dont sell the 8000mah. They only sell 4000mah versions. The keyboard is nice, sucks that its 4000mah but then again that not bad at all. It is what is is. All love

faux c'est un 4000mah
I would argue that repeating animations based on typing speed is a very important function

In love with this keyboard. Thanks for the review!!
That big battery is a great selling point the more younger crowd may be overlooking
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
main selling point of this is the 8000mah battery
Yes. but not the main, the only. 😂
Funny thing is, ITS NOT EVEN 8000, i dont know how they get away with lying.

Is this better or epomaker ajazz ak820
so will it lose the first character you type after the sleep key? Thanks!

Yeah I purchased this and I am definitely not too happy with it. Sound is pretty bad. Going to have to do a lot of modding to this I believe.
What mods did you end up doing? How is the keyboard overall? Are you still using it? Screen thoughts?

Epomaker th80 se or x
The X version seems to have more features: the screen and a MUCH bigger battery capacity.
But the SE comes in black. And the X doesn't.
An 8000mah is not availbe anymore, dont know if this guy actually has 8000 or he copiumin
