I don’t know a “regular” person that would buy more than 12 items online in a year. Since I buy a lot on the resale market, I am able to go around these limitations and have accumulated a nice amount of LV SLG’s. I think I may have only purchased five items from LV online this year. This information is good to know for people that are financially able to purchase that much.

Someone like me who loves the brand, I personally think this 12 item limit is very unfair! But I can understand why LV have implemented it! I’ll have to speak to client services, because I’ve got a list of few more items that I still want to add to my collection 😊

    • @keyboardbunny

I honestly can buy 12 item in a year easy. I have no idea about this limitation. I bought 7 things within this 2 months because of the Christmas limited edition. I buy also 3 card holder and 2 key pouch. Just within 3 days. 1 each for my mom and my cousin and I already have a key pouch so 1 card holder for myself.
The limit is seriously easy to reach. But if we're talking about handbags then yeah no way. I don't buy a single handbag LOL. I only like to buy little things like wallet, key pouch, coin case so on. I have a different one in every bag.
I also don't like to buy preloved if I can. Just my stupid germ phobia.

I’ve seen this when shopping Kate Spade. Their novelty bags would go on a huge sale of about 50% off and be sold out within a few hours. When I did a google search for a specific bag, sure enough, I found it being sold for more than the MSRP ( so if the bag was originally $350 with a sale price of $175, now it’s being sold for $450). So I love that LV takes that into consideration. Makes me want to actually check out the merchandise.

I know you posted this a year ago, but I agree so much. One of my biggest pet peeves esp for the Kate Spade Novelty bags because I like waiting for that sale. And I'm never fast enough. Happens for Coach Sales too for end of season stuff too and I often miss out on things I"ve been waiting for, unless I'm lucky It just doesn't happen, and I'm not paying more than retail on ebay.

This has been coming up a lot recently and a lot of people have been outraged (since they don’t read). To be honest, a lot of people on TH-cam and Instagram *are* unfortunately purchasing just to unbox or post pictures on Instagram then attempting to return (or work around the return by reselling). It always helps to know your rights as a consumer. LV is well within their rights to place such limitations. You just have to be strategic as the consumer. Another great video, as always! 💖🦄

    • @AHeatedMess
      @AHeatedMess  4 ปีที่แล้ว +23

Yes a history of multiple returns is definitely another trigger for a client ban! Unfortunately especially due to the quarantine with so many clients unable to purchase in store resulting in an uptick of online sales, this likely triggered more inadvertent customer bans. Once you have an established relationship with a client advisor it helps to purchase directly through them. Thanks so much for watching!

It's ridiculous! I have bought 10 items online in the past 6 month. Out of those 10 items, 7 have been returned due to qualify issues 🙄! I don't live near a store and have to buy online , therefore don't have the luxury of inspecting the items before purchase. Maybe if LVs quality control was better and they didn't keep sending out defective items, people wouldn't need to keep repurchasing and returning. Not everyone who does this is a reseller or shady. Where do LV stand on the amount of returns you can make? Under distant selling regulations the customer is entitled to return items if they are defective etc.

I only recently learned about this, am not a reseller, and now concerned about getting banned! After years of avoiding it, I fell in love with the key pouch and bought 3 for myself. Then I decided to buy a mini Pochette accessories and a key pouch for each of my 4 daughters for the future. Hubs also wanted a pocket organizer, but they are so hard to find, I ordered one of each style as they became available so he could pick what he wanted and we returned the rest. This means I’m coming up on my purchase limit, I’ve had several returns (including a couple extra key pouches since I was not sure which print I could find 4 of and had to jump on them when they showed up). The game of not having enough stock unfortunately does cause more buying/returning and I’ve also returned for poor quality control. I hate to buy/return as well 😕

Made in USA bags are still labeled "Louis Vuitton Paris". Elsewhere on the bag it should say Made in USA of imported Materials". Bags made elsewhere in the world will have "Made in Spain", etc under the LV Paris label. The date code is placed in a variety of locations and may be hard to find. Look on line for exact details.

The biggest irony of this entire rule is that they ban legit customers that love LV from buying online, and if there is not store near them or stock is low in store, they are forced to buy from resellers at higher prices. Therefore, resellers actually can benefit from this rule by going in store and paying cash or putting things under family members names 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am 100% in favour of these limits, sadly the bigger resellers have lots of ways around these rules. IMO, luxury resellers aren’t any different than ticket scalpers.
These people and the entire practice of buying up large sums of limited products for the sole intention of reselling for huge profits is gross.
There are a million ways to make an income in this world, this happens to be one that takes away the opportunity for many who could partake in that experience weather that is a concert, or the thrill of a limited edition luxury item, scalpers remove these chances of experiencing these opportunities and make them only available to the very small percentage who can afford to pay double to 5x plus the regular retail value.
Sadly,as long as there is a market for highly inflated over priced items there will continue to be those who make their living this way.
If people simply stopped paying above retail for anything...this would end this cycle, which I’d love to see come to an end.

I had no idea about the purchase limits and just got an email saying I’m banned for 2 years. What annoys me is why didn’t i get some alert ahead of time? I’ve had about 17 transactions this year and I’m not a reseller. I completely understand why it’s In place to discourage reselling but we only bought so much because I’m buying for my daughter and wife and got a couple items as gifts for people. I would have been fine if they said hey you exceeded the limit for the year and then let me purchase more next year but to Just flat out ban me with no notice for 2 years is really annoying. Even if i can get stores to override it, now it’s going to be more inconvenient driving down there and dealing with it. Online shopping was much more convenient.

I buy on line ! I buy maybe two things a year so I guess I'm good lol. I don't like going into the store here . The last time I was in there I had just made my purchase. It started raining outside bad . I walked over to the front of the store facing the window to call me husband who had gone to a different store down the street. I wanted to let him know I was done and could he come pick me up . The tall sales guy came running over to me and made this big deal about , I could not use my cell phone in the store . I said I'm just calling my husband to pick me up . OH no he said sorry . I thought what the hell . So the other sales person who helped me came over and said sorry . She was nice enough to hold me LV I was carrying , And the shopping bag with my new one in it. I went outside in the pouring rain to call my husband . I got drenched and my cell phone got all wet . I went back in and stood by the window to wait with water running down my face . My feelings got hurt . So thats why I have never gone back in that store.

I am new to LV, and not a reseller and this happened to me. I purchased 6 items over 2 months and was flagged. The SA told me to wait a couple of weeks for an agenda I wanted. I ended up buying preloved. I think they should be mindful that people are online due to the pandemic,Because items are rarely available, they cause the problem by making items scarce, people stalk the website and buy one thing at a time causing multiple transactions. I was super excited about the brand, but because of this, I feel less so - and may return my last item. They should add a human touch to evaluate if someone is abusing the system, and not just an algorithm. 🙂

They do this at other retailers as well, such as Tory Burch. They have pretty much the same limitations and areas of wiggle room also. For example if your buying employee gifts, you may be buying 50 wallets per say, the sales associate could acquire managerial approval and allow you to still make the large purchase due to you being an employer buying gifts. I like the limitations honestly, as being someone who has worked high end retail, I saw first hand the immense demand of resellers that I didn’t really know existed prior to working in those places.
