I am totally tripping! I live in Sacramento too, my dad lives very close to Elk Grove. My 93 year-old dad is starting to go downhill. I cried today. It’s heartbreaking to see my big strong dad slowly dwindling. He had a beautiful back yard. Could easily have been on the cover of good housekeeping! Now everything is dead, and he doesn’t care. But I look out the window and think of all the fun times my family had fun. Yes, I will cherish the memories, but they shall be no more. Sorry. I’m crying. You’re a wonderful son! HUGS! 💗💜💗💜

Only been watching last few days. Your dad brings tears to my eyes! In a nice way. He reminds me so much of mine. His walk or shuffle (as I used to call it) is exactly the same as my dad's was. And the way you and him interact. Lovely. You are so lucky to have him at home. My dad had to be in a home which I hated. I was working. Mum on her own and no other family. Dad could turn verbally abusive and lash out. You get used to the conversations don't you. No point in trying to reason! Just go with the flow. Dad used to think his dad and sisters were all still alive etc. His memories from 70 odd years previously were so lucid. Keep going you are doing just perfect!❤🫂🏴

Every single time Grandpa finds out that he’s 92! “I’m 92?!” With his amazing laugh 😂. I don’t comment often. I absolutely love watching Dan & Grandpa! ❤ I took care of my grandma, in HER home for about 18 months!!! I would absolutely do it again and again! In our situation, she was physically unable to care for herself, I was fortunate enough to be able to stop my life and move back down to Clovis! The only thing that she wanted was to stay in her own home, & I was able & gladly willing to do anything for her that I could! She has been gone from her body for almost 12 years now! Thank you for showing people all over the world, the good times, and the harder times. I love being able to get a little glimpse into such a beautiful family! Also, bringing awareness about dementia! ❤❤❤
Grandpa is so funny sometimes when you tell him he's 92 yrs old and he has 6 kids. It just seems to Amaze him sometimes when he's having trouble with his memory. It's so sad, but yet it's so funny in another way in his reaction when you tell him. I just Love that Man so much. I wish that I could travel to CA to meet him someday. I remember when my grandmother told me she couldn't be 99! She raised 13 children, and the last was a special needs child who was always her baby boy! She was amazing to just sit and talk with. Always had amazing visits. Dr. Ed reminds me of how much they worried and loved their children. He is a jewel of a person. Thank you for sharing. Need to see him in a Clemson Sweat shirt!
I’m 56 like you Dan and my Grandfather was born March 26 1932 same as your Dad and I watched over him the last 10 years. Unfortunately he passed away 😢watching your Dad makes me happy he is a wonderful man Just like my Grandfather 😊

Friday was the 10th anniversary of the end of my husbands long journey with dementia. I also cared for him at home and it was rewarding and difficult at the same time. He was 73 and the last year he was on hospice and unable to remember how to walk. I too learned a lot through the years. I would have enjoyed your videos then as well as now! You have a wonderful family and I love Dr. Ed ❤ These videos would be great information during Alzheimer's Association meetings ❤ Thank you Dan for helping those still walking that long journey ❣️❣️❣️
