Well a good man does, not all do. Imagine, he is almost 92 and has dementia but repeats what was important in life, family and good health, God bless him…
You said exactly what I was thinking. He remembers things from the past. Taking care of his family and wanting the best for them. Making sure he had money to accomplish the things he needed to do for the family. Those are what he always did. I love that guy too.
What a Man. Even at his age, with whatever condition he might be affected with, he doesn't readily accept what he considers to be handouts or freebies👊🌟👊🌟👊🌟👊🌟👊
I have never known any man, dementia or not, that cares so much for his family and their welfare. It brings me to tears sometimes to hear him so concerned about others. What an amazing man ❤
Dan, this was a lovely visit with you and Ed. Your father's fine principles are so greatly interwoven with his personality.... integrity, responsibility and love of family. I hope the countless people who watch your videos are drawn to the camaraderie and kindness and patience and respect they see you sharing with your father. You and Danielle are a wonderful team greatly helping people learn what compassion and empathy are all about. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
My Pops was stuck on saving money 24-7 of every year of his life. He was a ‘22 baby, so it makes sense with the era. “Do I have $5 bucks on me?” He is responsible for himself! ❤
This is me and my dad for the last 5 years of his life. I enjoyed our talks everywhere we went and it was like getting to know him as my friend and not my dad. It was the most amazing experience! I love this channel so much man.
My grandfather had dementia in his later years. He carried his wallet until the end and would always pull it out to pay when we ate out. There was nothing in it but a small amount of cash and maybe a few other things to make it seem normal. I am reminded so much of him with these videos especially with the occasional sarcastic sense of humor. The stories....😂
Your dad is sooo blessed to have a wonderful son as you and Danielle and everyone else taking care of him.. Alot of older ones don't have that in their lives.. God bless you all ❤️❤️❤️
You’re right not many people have this, ! My entire close family have all passed over. I was a late child I’m 64 now, how I would have loved for my children to have bonding like this, even with lack of memory.
Thank u Dan for the adult conversations you have with your father instead of foolishness.... you're doing a good job...May Father God keep u safe always.
As a single person from a messed up family who had to cut them off completely, I am honestly jealous that you have someone to take care of. You are lucky to have the privilege of taking care of him ❤
I found that it worked better to accept the money they offer. Then replace it in their wallet or purse so they always felt like they contributed but still had money and they never were the wiser.
You’re half way there Dan according to Grandpa. Bless his heart! I really enjoy you sharing your life with us, the entire world. You and Danielle are wonderful people!
Dad is wondering what is out of place because his mind is trying to fill in the facts of what seems wrong, out of place. Dad is the highlight of my day! (Obviously, your dad)
Have a great weekend all ❤ A lot of people would get extremely angry and frustrawe need having to answer repeated questions. You and Danielle Always treat your dad with courtesy and respect. Your daily videos help a lot of caregivers going to similar circumstances❤
He still has that scientific background and mindset. It come out when you asked him about your weight. Thanks for sharing the story with us Dan. Have a blessed day
Ed may not remember everything but he knows you need money to live. Always worried that his kids will go hungry or they do not have enough money. Bless his heart!!
I love Grandpa Ed he worries about having enough money and he love's his kid's so much and worries about them....Thanks Dan for sharing him with all of us sending prayers and love to you all all of you
Your conversations with your dad are a lot of the same topics. But I’m so amazed at how interesting this disease works. Your patience with your dad knows no boundaries. Great job on teaching us all what family is all about ❤😊
@Dan: I love the way his eyes light up when he hears Danielle's name! He has a soft spot for her, & he knows how much she does for him. (Ya did good in the spouse department, Dan)! 👍
Grandpa needed a little assurance. Dan, you give that to him. You and Grandpa Ed, you make each day special and comforting for me. Family is what it's all about. Have a blessed Saturday and since my Browns lost, go 49er's!!!😉
Love these videos! My dad is very similar.. just a couple years behind Ed. It's so sweet to see he's still very much himself and cares about everyone. Definitely can relate to the constant money worries and looking for his wallet 😂. Happy belated birthday grampa Ed ❤
Dan, your dad answered he does NOT wish his kids to be little again... 'when kids are little...they have a LONG way to go to grow big & be on their own to take care of themselves', he reflects over that... 'YOU'RE about HALF-WAY there'...then glances out the corner of his eye to catch your response, Dan. WHAT A HOOT ! What a 'punch' line; what a sense of humor ! Hope you recovered quickly after that punch... I am still laughing! 😂
Take him somewhere and let him spend some of his hard earned money. He's feeling his loss of independence. My Dad loved to go to Walmart and buy a few things. He didn't need them but he wanted them and it made him happy.
Grandpa is so very observant as you drive through town..he notices everything!! It’s amazing how alert he is. Despite him losing his train of thought at times his wheels are always turning!!
@@juliedsilva6626 possibly, I’ve noticed it though even throughout the house.,he’ll always warn Dan or whoever’s filming to watch out for the dogs and stuff like that. He’s always in tune to his surroundings!
Thank you! That was really neat to just listen to a regular conversation between the two of you❤❤❤ So glad he gets to go running around with you! It's probably the highlight of his day!!
I love how he knows AND remembers expenses, responsibilities, income, life, money, where he lives, rent. He knows that all of that exists, and not being a burden to you all. He wants to contribute. This shows his mind is still working. Bless him. He's done well. 🤗
It is so hard when they are in and out with their thinking. Yet, when they are on spot it is great to see and hear. Your dad reminds me so much of my father-in-law that it's canny. 😊 I love his actions to the father and children, just a precious smile 😊❤
Dad just loves his independence his house his car and his wallet wants to be in control of his life and wants to pay his own way ❤ him he's gonna be with us for awhile 🙏🏼
He is amazing and even though he has Alzheimer’s he still does not want to feel as though he is taking anything from you. He was obviously so independent his whole life 🥰 I remember my mother during her last days, it pained her, she cried to us saying she felt a burden but she was never a burden but it hurt more to know that is how she felt. She raised us, we repaid her with love and care by then being there for her when she could no longer care for herself. I salute you, your wife and your family for the care and love you bring him, it’s not easy but you take it 1 day at a time and just show him love and that’s special ❤
I love the Father and Son relationship you have with your Dad, not because he's old and his mind slightly goes in and out, you love your Dad and he loves you. No matter what may come, your Dad will always love you, a parent or parents will always love their kids, young and old. God is blessing you with your Dad as much as he can until God decides he wants to call him on home to him.
What a sweet man . Still wanting to contribute help out his son.
He worries about the same thing we all do, money, feeling safe, and his family. Love him
Absolutely
Well a good man does, not all do. Imagine, he is almost 92 and has dementia but repeats what was important in life, family and good health, God bless him…
He doesn't have to worry about money.
You said exactly what I was thinking. He remembers things from the past. Taking care of his family and wanting the best for them. Making sure he had money to accomplish the things he needed to do for the family. Those are what he always did. I love that guy too.
Imagine how stressful that is. My retirement planning does not at all include living to 92, hoping to be gone long before that 😂
“No such thing as not having any expenses.” That’s definitely something you never forget lol.
My mom did that too. She was 93. I miss my mom. You’re so good Dan, for looking after your pop.
He’s such a sweetheart, absolutely love him
I'm in love with this sweet man
Pop !you don't have to worry, your wonderful son takes care of you, this is love.😊

He seems like such a nice gentleman. So nice that you are taking care of him.
I have never known any man, dementia or not, that cares so much for his family and their welfare. It brings me to tears sometimes to hear him so concerned about others. What an amazing man ❤

He is all about family. He doesn’t forget about responsibility.
