i used to felt left out when most of my friends using latest bike, while im still using freewheel rigid 26'inch bike. now i know there's a bike community that still appreciate retro mtb. and i even love more on my bike now.
Nice to see people still riding these bikes. (wish there were more close ups of the bikes themselves but no one's perfect - the point of the video seemed to be more to capture the spirit of the event). All my mt. bikes are 26 and many are "older". But they all still run and it is always funny when someone goes "nice vintage ride" as if it's not the bike I ride regularly!
I was born into the era of suspension, but I’ve always wanted a vintage mountain bike to commute with! Hoping to fit my trek 820 with a rigid fork and try to emulate the feel of a vintage mtb.
0:12 - That's my bike! I still have my 1990 Bridgestone MB-2 (original owner), but it's no longer completely stock like this one appears to be. Another clear shot right here! 3:21
I have a stable of vintage mountain bikes that I ride regularly. There are endless miles of trails 800 feet from my front door, so my Breezer, Specialized, Bianchi-Firenze, Shogun, and Alien get regular workouts.
same reason i got a old mtb so i dont get my nice bike stolen wen locked up in town,, but i dun it up too nice, and got loads of looks, so i sold it ha
I could never handle riding nose to butt. I like the bikes but not the crowds. Thats why I always rode during Broncos games when no one else was riding.
A lot of people consider 1996 or older to be vintage for mountain bikes. We aren't too dogmatic about it though. It's just about getting out on bikes and having a good time!
All ebikes will fall and these beauties will still run❤
Just built up a full suspension lightspeed from the 90s with xt components and a period air shock rock shox, vintage mtbs are fun!
Love to see the old Bell helmets...the ubiquitous Bell Biker and the long forgotten camo V-1 !!
Great idea to get back to the roots of MTB. I hope your event goes from strength to strength.
2 years ago I got from craigslist a vintage all original specialized stumpjumper team mountain bike for $50.00. This bike rides like a champion.

I ride a 1987 Miyata ValleyRunner on local single-track. I get some weird, and sometimes concerned, looks.
Great to see some of the older bikes(and bikers) too!
🙏🙏🙏 More vintage mountain bikes PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏

I tend to watch this video a lot. Loved all the bikes. Great job.
91’ GT Karakoram Elite is the bike I ride.
I picked up a fully stock 1989 Trek 830 for $40 and I love riding it on tamer trails and gravel!
My only bikes a old 80s mountain bike i got outta a dumpster fixed it and it works great
nice presentation guys, really charming, and love retro bikes, hope I can join you one day
Blimey. I could have started my own museum had I kept all my bikes from 84 to 92😕
And you can fix anything on all these bikes with just 3 allen keys and Wd40.
So many amazing bikes and you barely gave us a good look at any of them.

Could my 2002 dirt jumper be a vintage MTB?

That is...a great idea.
