He sings the song in 3 language. Todii (Shona), Senzeni (Ndebele) and What shall we do (English). All meaning the same thing. The song was realeased around 1998, the peak period for HIV and AIDS. It briefly but accurately captures the trials and tribulations of an individual, family, or society as a result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic!

If there is anyone who can have the ideas on the solution to this crisis, please come forward. He goes on to say: it is so painful to be raped by your married partner, knowing that you have HiV. Todii? Means what shall we do
Heee senzeni? Means what shall we do
It’s painful to keep death in your hands
Chorus, what can you do when you have the virus
It’s painful to be raped by the one you love
Chorus …What can you do when you have the virus.
You bud a pregnancy without hope of term
What can you do when you have the virus
They know they gave you the virus
Chorus, what can you do when you have the virus
Even you know you have the virus
Chorus, what can you do when you have the virus
This was the time when HIV had no cure. Situation was hopeless
