Sorry my phone went ballistic! Anyway I'm intrigued at the way Austin Stowell is playing one of my all-time favorite characters, and the tense friendship, if you can all it that- with Lala. RANDY, is someone who is trying to be Mike's confident , I will be eager to see what his development is all about. Thanks for posting !

Lol yes, if we can even call it a tense "friendship" at this point. Especially after episode 8, I'm excited to see more of Randy. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the team all working together. Thanks for the comment!

I really would like to see more son and father interactions, his father would have a big influence on his development

Yes! I definitely agree, I think it would be a good thing to be able to see them reconcile. Or what it would look like if they tried to reconcile, since we know based on the og NCIS show, that their relationship is still sorta tense.

I really enjoy piecing Gibbs ' movements & his backstory. What makes him so closed off from peoplr- it has to be more than the loss of his " girls " is it the fact that he was a sniper anhis childhood his d had to be " one " with himself and a strong US MARINE -

I'm definitely loving the show too. I'm just hoping they do justice for Gibbs and Lala's relationship and it doesn't become tacky.

After rewatching the show, after episode 2, my theory is Lala is going to get sniped by whoever the real Sandman is, mirroring what happens to Caitlin.
Gibbs ends that episode talking about how he should have trusted his instinct, people die easier then habits you have, and real monsters wait and let you breathe and feel safe before striking again.

I agree, Lala will probably be sniped by the real Sandman. So true about this mirroring Caitlin's death. I think similar to Caitlin's death, Gibbs will blame himself for Lala's death. Also, you theorized that Lala was going to be sniped after just watching the first two episodes?!

    Note: Spoilers for OG series
I just want to start by saying your review on this series are awesome to listen to. On the topic of this episode, it is funny to mention this is the first episode in NCIS history since the OG aired in 2003 to not feature a crime in the episode.
I’m hoping that the series gets enough seasons we will see Gibbs eventually move to DC and take over the team along with join the Fed Five alongside Franks. The Fed Five featured NCIS NO lead Dwayne Pride who will likely be seen. It is also possible we see Gibbs grow from a probie into a leadership role.
I really want to see this series succeed because NCIS officially takes place in 2003 with Tony joining in 2001. I would love to see characters from the OG series like Tony, Jenny, Vance, and Ducky make a return to the series in Origins.
It would also be interesting because in the OG NCIS series it shows how Tony met Gibbs but it didn’t show who else was on the team at the time for Gibbs. I know Origins will likely be a few seasons (3-4) but with how successful season 1 has been along with getting additional episodes it gives me hope for a long term series like OG NCIS, New Orleans, or LA.
The 90’s feeling to the series has also made this a cool series to witness because of all the old gear and tech. The music choices have been iconic, and I’m curious to see if they continue to add more music as the 90’s go further in.
As for my prediction on how the season ends, I agree someone is biting the dust. I truly believe it is going to be either Lala or Randy. In the OG series two people that Gibbs knew extremely well have died by snipers, the first being Kate in season 2 (Kate), and the second being in season 12 (Diane). It is a given that the sniper will be in play.
I expect it to likely be Randy because the family being mentioned to us several times but I also think because as you mentioned randy is a guest character he’s going to die in the show, I could see them killing him off and leaving the series off on a cliff hanger for season 2 similar to what happened between season 2 and season 3 when Kate was shot. It would also hammer home to viewers new to NCIS that their are stakes involved.

Thank you so much for your comment! I really appreciate it:)
I also really hope that we get more seasons to the show as well. That would be awesome to get to seasons all the way up to when the original NCIS show starts. I think it would be so fun if we got to see Gibbs and Tony meet again (and more of the og characters as well).
NCIS wiki says that the Fed Five were active 20 years prior to the main NCIS show. Do you think they'll retcon the timeline or maybe Gibbs doesn't join until the 90's?
The 90's vibes are great. The music choices have been really awesome as well. I really like how much it's influenced what's happening in the show too.
I feel like the showrunners are really setting up either Lala or Randy to die. I just pieced together that Gibbs has already had two close people to him die of snipers. Especially because of Gibbs' background with snipers, and then also having Sandman set up since the beginning of season 1, I bet a sniper will be in play for sure.
I think it would be really interesting if one of the main characters died, and another main character is blamed or for some reason not trusted, or something like that. That could be really interesting. The idea of trust has really been a factor in this season. I feel like someone is going to die - and yes this is definitely a way to introduce new viewers to the stakes that NCIS is willing to take.

@I 100% agree with everything you’re saying. I do feel like Fed Five will be retconned to the early/mid 90’s to portray when Gibbs moved to DC which in the series says 2001 but thats getting retconned. A lot of stuff in NCIS I have learned whether due to cast leaving, or the multiple writers on the show have taught me that NCIS has several retcons and that when a retcon happens then it will likely get retconned again.
Another interesting thing you mentioned was young Tony, I would love to see them reintroduce either characters from the NCIS JAG pilot episode. We know Gibbs was given the team by Franks in 1996, and that Tony joined in 2001 and Jenny was on the team briefly in 1999. We know from the NCIS JAG pilot episode in the flashback that sometime between 1996 and the 2003 series, Vivian Blackadder served with Gibbs. Her character was transferred and the reason this was done was because Blackadder’s character was replaced by Kaitlyn Todd due to writers not liking her characters. Besides her you also had agent Don Dobbs who was on Gibbs team but was written off when season 1 was released.
