- Although Director Vance didn't seem like a nice guy in the beginning, I actually kind of like him now. He is still pigheaded and a hard nut to crack. But he is starting to be one of the team and is working along with them. Without stopping to be the director of course.

This made everybody really pay attention to things with Vance and Gibbs , they both have always had each other’s back and respect

Didn’t like Vance at first, but grew to like him and was so sad when Jackie was killed, Rocky is a terrific actor!

Even though gibbs is my ultimate favorite character in the ncis universe
in many ways Vance is like Gibbs.....he is very protective of his agents....its just that Vance is much better at walking the politician line....but when it is time for action...he will take it or let Gibbs off the leash.
I think Shepard was the best, but Vance is the most badasses director they have had. He worked with Eli David in the early days before NCIS was that big. Think he was CIA, right?

The 2nd scene is when I knew Gibbs could trust Leon with his life
I used to not like him, but Vance has really grown on me throughout watching the show.
I always felt that Vance wasn't intended to be "liked" the way someone might like, say, Tony or Ducky.
At least, initially, the viewer was supposed to see Vance the way Gibbs and the others do, wondering "Who's this guy? Can we trust him?"
Meanwhile, Vance, being new to the director's chair, wants to impress on them that he may be the new boss, but he's still the boss. Which means some toes will be stepped on.
I believe that the evolution of the character has been well-played by the show in general and Rocky Carroll in particular.
I was still on the fence about Vance until then. After I was fully onboard.

Leon Vance...You can't mess with anyone under him. You think GIBBS would be the problem, but Leon's the one yanking that chain...And he's got his finger on the trigger at a moment's notice and he's got itchy fingers.
I think Leon is maybe the maverick of the 2. He worked with Eli David, who was the best spy of them all probably.
Thanks for your video. I love Vance and I don't get why he is so underrated and unliked. He is awesome. You can't read his mind, you don't know if he can be trusted even after 4 seasons lol. That's why he is so cool :)

@@kinkeezie He is a former boxer though, which I thought was pretty cool and kind of badass. A CIA operative turned NCIS director with a very kiss my ass attitude for a politician.

@@ryanclark7962 Gibbs would shoot him right between the eyes, Ziva would make his death slow and painful, making him squeal and suffer, but in the end both would kill him

Vance makes the second TV character played by an actor named Carroll to head an agency that employs a character played by David McCallum.
Did not know an actor named Carroll headed the KGB on The Man from UNCLE.
I was referring to Leo G Carroll who played Waverly, Solo and Kuryakin's superior at UNCLE.
Now you know. And if Sr. comes back, I'll have the same fear I had about Eli's visit. But this show tries to be real, and nothing is more real than death. God Bless. Cars.

I think it was mentioned somewhere that Eli David and DiNozzo Sr. will be back this season. I don't when or how, but it sure will be interesting. Especially Eli, I really wonder how Gibbs and ZIva will respond...
And all he had to do was nod. It was a turning point for the entire character

You have every right to your opinion and EVERY NCIS character is hated by someone for one reason or another, even Gibbs.
Some have said Gibbs is too old, Ziva is a Mary Sue, McGee is boring, Bishop is boring, Abby is childish, Nick is a jerk, Tony is a jerk, Vance is untrustworthy. You get the idea.

Have you noticed that every top brass guy in a movie or a TVshow , must be a black person ? ...for exemple Director Vance , or the U.S. President in DEEP IMPACT ( and countless other "pre-Obama-era" TVshows ) , or the Fringe Director in FRINGE , or some high -rank generals in INDEPENDANCE DAY , and so on... ( this is not a racist comment...or maybe a TINY )
