Love my Laser War too. Had it for about 5 years now and when I got mine it has a top score of 7mill on it. I've never beaten that score despite my best efforts. Just shy of 6mil is my top. The light show is one of the best around.
The first ever Data East pinball never disappoints! You can tell they were trying to come out and make a name for themselves in the midst of the Gottlieb / Bally / Williams golden years. Imagine if this game had failed - and taken Data East pinball down with it. We wouldn't have had Sega pinball which eventually became the Stern pinball we know today. Great score with just under 6 million!!! It's tough getting up there. I've owned this game 7 years now and although I've rolled the score over 9,999,999 once, I rarely break 5 million. And that light show! Especially with the ion cannon during multi ball... And the spinner sound effects and the sounds it makes when you hit the ramp X amount of times in a row are all awesome. I doubt this game will ever leave my collection even though I don't gravitate to it every day.
@@pinballerinfo Yeah it is a classic. I hope to own it for a long time that's for sure. I did dream of owning the Big 6 as I called them. The first pinballs from data east with the twin speakers. Having them all in a row would be so nice looking. But the price of them now in the UK is just ridiculous. Still cheap compared to others but a few thousand. Maybe one day
@@markhorsburgh little by little, you don’t need to get them all at once! It’s also not easy to find a Torpedo Alley. And on the rare occasions I’ve seen Secret Service or Time Warp they were in pretty bad shape. But I’d like to do the same thing sometime. Line them all up together!
Gotta love the sound effects of Laser War.. im a Data East Pinball fan anyway though.. but for the money Data East products are still some of the best bang for your buck pins on the market
Totally feel ya on that! Can you imagine where pinball would be today if this, their first pinball game, would have failed and if Data East would have folded? They definitely do have a ton of bang for the buck! You can tell they were trying to compete in a big way. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
@pinballerinfo I've owned a Laser War and currently have a Lethal Wrapon 3 and a Last Action Hero. Tales from the Crypt is on my want list ..and for the most part all my Data East have games have been pretty reliable
@@TiltingT Laser War was the 4th or 5th game in my collection. Got it from someone who's brother was a coin op guy. It was in his house since new, I call it my museum piece since it's so nice and fresh after all these years. Tales from the Crypt was my first pin, it's also never leaving! Had LW3, wish I'd had kept it because it was really nice too. Tried to get a LAH today, but I was too slow.
@@pinballerinfo Looks like we got allot of the same taste! I currently have the 2 DE games, Mata Hari, Sea-Ray, and a Fireball Home edition but it was $100 so I couldn't say no! Lol
@@TiltingT I wouldn't have passed on that Fireball home for just $100 either! Those kind of deals are great. I've tried to resist going for what I think I want, and just waiting and waiting until a deal that's too good to pass on comes up. I've gotten lucky a few times now.
