she is in memoy last 5 or more years. i have not able to forget her. A masterful performance with gharanedar richness. in all respect she is unique n suparb. i do not have words even to appreciate her .

Such a wonderful and penetrating voice that not only me but most classical music lovers of current era did not hear about and it is very sad and surprising. Only because of the courtesy of TH-cam we have this opportunity and we are thankful to youtube for that.
Pundita Anjani Bai was a great hindustani classical vocalist and there are very few recordings available of her singing and she also gave very few public performances. She set up a music college to encourage young girls to study Hindustani classical music during her time. She and ganathapaswini mogubai kurdikar(the mother of ganasaraswathi kishori amonkar are great gems of Hindustani classical music. Mogubai kurdikar was a widow female Hindustani vocalist with 3 children to raise and she learnt Hindustani shastriya Sangeet under very hard circumstances. She performed during an era when female artists were not encouraged that often, and widows were even more not as encouraged. Pranams to these 2 women artists.

A very sweet voice and at the same time layadar. The meend part is what distinguishes her. She reminds one of Laximibai Jadhav. There is neither arrogance nor complsiveness in her rendering.

Nicholas Klacsanzky I believe Kumar Gandharv learnt from Anjanibai Malpekar who was born and good 30 35 years earlier.
