I loved the IBM Selectric II! Raymond Benbow worked for them. He was from England and taught me how to make flys and fly fishing. He had an old Jeep that blew a rod so he just disconnected it and ran it as a 3-cylinder to plow a small driveway... Gosh in the good old days
love watching this guy so professional very clever sometimes genius fixes and brilliant oral speaker very educational put him and Andrew Camarata together wow nothing they could do love watching these guys thank you both for sharing your skills and knowledge les in England
I just came across this podcast. I follow both you and Matt on TH-cam. You are so right about teaching usable skills in school instead of pushing every kid toward a useless college degree. I took metal shop in high school, and learned a lot of skills that helped me out later in my career in industrial maintenance. I worked for 30 years for Bethlehem Steel in northwest Indiana.
Maybe your best interview yet. For once it was a fair exchange of ideas with no one monopolizing the conversation. Matt held his own and DO is to be thanked for allowing him to be who he is. Learned a lot.
Matt was the very first channel to which I subscribed. I have no idea how TH-cam directed me to him, but I've watched (I believe) everything he's posted. Obviously, I enjoy his honesty, thought process and honesty. This was very well done and gave me additional perspectives about Matt and his life. Thank you!
By accident I just watched this for the second time and enjoyed every moment of it. Again thanks for letting some of us less bright people see what a joy some have in life, appreciate it.
As a viewer, it is appreciated that both channels are only sponsored by things that you truly support. I paid for TH-cam Premium to not see ads but more and more channels are falling victim to this type of advertisement.
I really enjoyed watching this Matt seams to be a great guy I never used TH-cam much until I was looking at mini excavators and found you Andrew camarata diesels creek and others and have been hooked since thank you
I watch you video, enjoyed it very much. , i sorry i miss it . but i got to see it on video. i watch Matt 's videos all the time. i sub to you.keep up the good video's.
Glad you had Matt on your podcast. I watch his channel as much as yours. Nice to hear his background. Wish trades would have been pushed more too. I have a useless degree that I've never used. Lol. I'm a farmer, mechanic, operator, professional musician and singer and for 15 years a civil designer but never once worked in a machine shop. 🤷. I don't watch regular TV at all. I have TH-cam premium and the Kodi App. Have a great day guys. Always great to see the MBTS!! 💯😎
Matts unfinished projects makes each new video like one of them awesome movies where your about to find out who the killer is. so you watch each one in suspense glued to the tv just waiting to see what's next lol. i think its cool to watch a you tuber who lives in the same area you grew up in and see how things have changed and see places you have been to and still go to. love the podcast
Another great podcast Mike. I like Matts channel and he seems to be a great guy. Only problem with the podcast was Man Behind The Scene was way to quiet. Some of us look at him as our hero. LOL
The autocar was the first thing i found of Diesel Creek, there wasn't a great deal on there at the time, maybe 20,000 subscribers, you could literally see it climb as you watched, so glad I stayed !
Greetings from Saskatchewan. Watch and enjoy all your TH-cam channels. As a retired telephone tech , I enjoyed your comments on the rotary dial phone . Cheers and keep up the great content .
Diesel Creek is one channel that wating it makes you start wondering will it run?But he never even shows being flustered.Really great interview again. The time you all take is appreciated
I love both your channel and Matt's channel watch both religiously, but I am a dispatcher at a fuel distributor and part time truck driver. So i find both of your channels facinating.
That was the best, I always wondered how you learned so much being so young. Not only are you good at explaining things to us, your patient with what you do & explaining it. I love that your not afraid to jump right in to try and fix it. I love fixing or repairing stuff, I've been a contractor for 35yrs, I also had family that did their own auto repair. Thanks again
Excellent, excellent, excellent, great podcast dp, 2 of my favourite you tubers sittin down chewin the fat, really good to get a bit of matts background, I did at one point wonder with Matt involved would the interview ever get finished😂 . Just one little criticism, can you please stop ripping on Aaron for being slightly shorter than average, cus what he lacks in height he definitely makes up for in personality 10 fold, thanks all thoroughly entertaining 👍
Awesomely nice vid to stumble across tonight. First night not watching the Olympics as my Wife is deep cleaning the living room so I was pleasantly surprised with this.
I've been watching both of you guys since before you went big time, I'd have to say that neither of you let your head swell up from ego trip. That's the reason your channels are at the top. Great job, now we have MBTS rubbing elbows with you and taking it all in, smart man, great job Arron. This has been a great podcast. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Great podcast, two of my favorite channels, as far as the negative comments, I think people don't realize that dirt work is totally different from place to place, we do things different in here in Maine, as to Indiana or Pennsylvania. Example is Matt and his building his driveway, I didn't find it odd, we do it like that all the time. Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope. What captives me about both channels is your content is a field in which I've been involved with since I was 16 and I'm 55 now, and secondly it's genuine. I can't wait for the next video. You guys keep it up, DP I know I've commented before about why I don't post negative comments, somethings I disagree with, but it goes back to things are different where you go, and none of it it is worth going to war over. And your right, your content takes care of itself, your excavating is a big part of your channel, same with DC and his refurbished old Iron, thank you for what you all do
A great podcast, guys. I really enjoyed hearing Matt's back story. Two of my favourite TH-camrs together-I watch every video you both put out, and, on the whole, I love them all. You will never get a negative comment from me-I was always taught 'If you can't say something good/nice; keep quiet' !!
I don't really comment often, but I love your podcasts. I really need to catch up on listening. This one is a fast favorite. My all time favorite was with Watch Wes Work. I hope you do another one with him. All the best!
Great pod cast. You guys hit on a good point, I would rather watch people taking snapshots of their day and seeing what they do then watching over produced crap on TV. Two of my favorite channels, I look forward to your postings. The content is great and it's something I can watch with my boys.
What a great 76 minutes on a Sunday evening here in the UK. Great conversation between three great individuals. I've never operated a machine or built a (or half built!) an old machine. Never picked up a welding torch or anything similar. Watching you do it lets me see just what goes on outside of my world and how many skilled people there are out there. Your genuine approach on the videos is what makes it watchable and the friendships and humor are what keeps me coming back ( that, and I have to keep watching Diesel Creek until the Autocar is finished!!!) . It is the great countryside, the work ethic and the love of what you do and where you live that make it so enjoyable. Don't ever change... evolve, but don't change who you are! If I worked in your industry then your videos would be great "how to" resources - or "how not to" which probably more important sometimes... For us that don't work in your industry it is still a great insight into what you do and thoroughly good entertainment. Keep it coming!
For a 29 year old.........60 at least. Matt, you have a mature attitude that will stand you in good stead for the rest of your days. I have been subbed to you for a good while now and never regretted it. A few Points From Perfect Podcast? you now have my subscription. You also have the attitude I like, neither you nor Matt have the 'influencer' attitude about you. 'Take it or leave it', you don't have the 'pay me to exist' take on TH-cam that so many seem to have these days.
Great podcast! I really enjoyed hearing Matt’s back story. I also appreciate you talking about the channels themselves. We finally started a channel last year, and are still in that first stage you described!
Would love to come down to your place and help you with some lathe and mill stuff. Might only be 26 but for 4 years I worked for a large company as a maintenance machinist. We did a ton of machining actually been back there for the last 8 months making parts for them part time. Love the machining and fabricating one off parts. Fully agree with pushing the trades has got me where I am today.

Like you said, it's the content that keeps you interested in watching. I like this one welding chanel where the the guy does some builds but sometimes he does more talking about things that have nothing to do with what he is doing. You are waiting to see him working on the build but sometimes it bla bla bla. Sometimes I mute him and watch him work. That's what I love about you, Aaron and Captain Kleeman. You could be talking about fishing or something stupid. It's the people that keep your interest. I watched the fishing videos of (NYA ) Matt and because of the content and the family, I enjoyed it.
I have to say congratulations to both of you and MBTS I guess on the success of your channels. I have been doing TH-cam since 2015 and only have 17k subs, I did miss the covid blow up because the two guys I worked with both had health issues and decided to not work so I was doing the work of three and didn't have time to do new vids. As far as negative comments I just started replying "Thanks for watching and commenting"
I really like your channel too. Just keep making videos and the people will come. The mini dozer series is awesome and once that catches on your channel will be on fire.
Thanks Matt for stopping by, I really like your videos when u include your screwups, it shows how genuine you're, and your use of the English language is commendable, thanks guys for the podcast.
Thanks for another interesting podcast. I guess I will have to check out Matt's channel since he looked genuine and a guy I could relate to with a similar back ground. He should have promoted his channel more on the podcast, because after watching it I wasn't sure I knew the channel name. Obviously, it's in the description and it's nice that he is humble enough to not make an infomercial for his channel out of the podcast.
