    Today is a big day, I received my Moog Subsequent 37 - directly after work and right before dinner I just had to make a quick first jam .. I unpacked it, set it up, connected a couple FX pedals and .. yep, into space on first attempt. Can I say it sounds fabulous? :D
    FYI, there are some synths and other FX turned on and hissing in the background, i just forgot to turn things off.
    Gear used: Moog Subsequent 37
    FX, Boss-RE20 space echo, Strymon bluesky
    For the piano ditto X2 loop, grandstage wurly chords played through the red panda particle and eventide space.
    BoooOoM!

    Some discribe it as organic, i agree. It is so emotional and enjoyable to play. There's no other synth like this, i love mine.

    I got so lost in playing one of these last night, that I'm sitting here fully sleep deprived enjoying this video.

    Sound like you are using a strymon . Recognize the reverb . Love it . Nice video thx

    Right out of the box you make the Subsequent 37 sound epic! I have the older Tribute Edition and can totally get lost for hours playing with it.
    I noticed you're using DUO mode, which often requires two hands. I suggest picking up a Moog expression pedal to allow you to adjust the filter cutoff (or any other parameter) with your foot to keep your fingers on the keys. It helps a ton!

    • @BURG
      @BURG  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a lot man. :) On this track im actually not using duo mode, Im just playing the mono mode like it would have been duophonic. This way i get some nice accent transitions when the notes jump up and down. Getting a moon expression pedal is however an excellent idea, as i quite often play with two hands.. will def get one, thanks for the tip! FYI, I have a KORG something pedal for my Nord lead, but it is a bit plasticky and feels like it wont last that long .. the moog EP-3 looks really sturdy in comparison. cheers !

    Super Thanks for all of this -- the jam, the sound, and the look. ☺️ Did you use external effects? If so, may I ask what exactly they are? ☺️ The end sound is just iconic. 😊 EDIT: Silly me, the effects are listed in the description. Amazing jam, considering you did it almost just out of the box! 🔥

    Yeah, the Moog is in da house!!!!! Im envy you, cause im looking for low budget one for such a long time. It fits in BURG sound, and is much more fat as MS20. Cheers mate, wish a lot of fun with it!!!

    • @BURG

      Yes moog only. Like in description, I used a boss re20 and a strymon blue sky for delay and reverb. Cheers

    Nice ambient jam! So officially it's "Jam no.1 in C-minor". As a classical music fan (I'm the biggest Beethoven fan ever) I appreciate your titling! Now you need to start putting " opus numbers" on these so future musicologists can know the exact order in which you've created your masterworks!!

    • @BURG
      @BURG  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot! :D haha, i did rename the video title to "Jam no.1 in C-minor" much better.. :D Opus is a bit harder, have no clue how many tracks i have created to date.. haha, but a really fun idea! cheers

    • @m10538
      @m10538 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder what the rationale was for putting the key in the title back then, did anybody ever say "there will be a symphony tonight at the concert hall, and it's in A major! Ooo, that's my favorite key! Let's go!" Or "aww man, this concerto is gonna be in B flat minor! Forget it, let's just go bowling."

  • @jriceblue
    @jriceblue 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why do you think it is that most Berlin School types sit down at a synth and immediately start jamming in C minor?

    • @knopfler2006
      @knopfler2006 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is because this scale offers the perfect mix between white and black keys, allowing you to run through the keyboard easily

    I Think a Moog is much better than a Korg ( Ms 10 or Ms 20 ). I had the three synths when I was young.( Ms 10; Ms 20, Mini Moog Model D) ^^

    • @NorfolkTraveller
      @NorfolkTraveller 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a Mother 32 and Korg MS20mini. Love them both, but if I could only keep one it would be the MS20. The subsequent 37 sounds awesome but is in a different price bracket so it certainly should be a league above an MS20
