I think you should have also mentioned that they can just hit cancel once it asks you if you want to write a check or record it as a bill. and there will be no impact to your financials or the cc account. I have seen sometimes, nob bookkeeper always select one of those option but they dont really follow it to the end and it causes outstanding checks to be issued or bills.

Hi, how would you go about making a scheduled online payment through desktop for the credit cards? Per my bank there is no routing number to be used when sending the payment but QB requires a routing number. Is it possible to even make credit card payments via the schedule online payment route?

How will the credit card bill appear on the Unpaid Bills Detail Report? With every charge made on credit card, or 1 line item for the credit card amount due/intend to pay?

Hi Matt, What if I made an additional payment in QB Desktop but it was with saved CASH, how do I record this?

What do you mean by saved cash? Was the cash not already saved somewhere in QB?

Hello Matt, I really appreciate your videos; they are very helpful. I have a question that I couldn't find the answer to anywhere else. My tenant issued a security deposit cheque to my agent. Both the landlord and tenant's agents deducted their commission from the cheque and re-issued the remaining amount of the cheque to me by my real estate agent's company. How do I record this? I would greatly appreciate any direction you can give me. Thank you

What I would do is record the deposit for the amount and in the Accounts section record the full amount of the security deposit, then below that enter the expense as a negative amount so it nets to the deposit amount. For example if the security deposit was $1,000 and the commission was $200, record the deposit as $800 but for the accounts make the security deposit $1,000 and the leasing expense -$200

@@QbuniversityOrgThank you so much for your quick reply, Matt. But the problem is that QuickBooks does not allow me to record this type of transaction in the General Journal. Is there any other way? Thanks again.

@@avacaspian it should. Go to the make deposit screen to do it or if you do it in the register choose to Split the transaction

Hi Matt! Costco and Amazon no longer sell QB Desktop Pro CD. Intuit will start to auto bill me $549 for renewal on April. What happens to my QB account if I choose not to pay? Do I still have access to my account or will they lock me out? If I still have access to QB but refuse to pay the hefty renewal fee, what features will I miss? Any idea?

The autopay is renew to the Newest QuickBooks, and Updates. As long as you dont have Payroll going through it, or it being Online than you will still be able to work on the version you have, you will just not get updates.

From my experience, QB will stop allowing me to login if I don't extend my renewal.
