People saying this amp is designed just for metal are wrong, you can get any sound you want from this amp, I am glad I went for this. It kicks my bandmates dual rec and marshall tsl asses and they agree, best amp I've heard. the clarity and richness of tone at any level of gain and the tight bottom end are amazing. I can get the clean sound to sound like a piano, like it has chorus on it or just pure clean. So glad I went for this amp, Thank you diezel, you make the best amps.
hello I'm a blues guitarist I like standard tuning and clean channels with a bit of fuzz I'm here on a video titled monsters of high gain watching a metal guitarist and id just like to complain about him not playing a six string and playing something that doesn't sound like hard rock from the 80s
Well....why are you complaining? It doesn't say, "masters of clean tone!" Haha I'm considering buying this, but I like cleaner-to-STP, maybe, tones. So...I'm watching, too!
I just play on one at Guitar Center yesterday and the clean channel on this amp is actually really nice it's a crystal clear clean I might go back today and buy it for 2200 I was hoping to plan a mark 5. I might trade in my 5150 III combo Towards the new 50w stealth head. Once I seen evh made a 50w stealth makes me wanna get one.
I prefer the dry straight up recording as it shows how the amps have been voiced and not how you can post process. I suspect the mic is placed right where the dust cap meets the cone as well=neutral. They show the mic relative to the cab. Consistency counts. Ola does a great job of showing you how to take the raw mic'ed sound and then tweak it out with multiple tracks, etc on his site. The audio quality increases as you increase the video playback size as well. In case you didn't know.
what's awesome about the diezel tone is when you dial it back some and keep the levels right it's ridiculous. It's like a silkier approach to that tone the mesaboogie dual recto brought. I can't explain it but damn, Diezel is my dream amp set up and it's not just because I listen to Tool way too much lol
Fuck I know! I rarely hear people like yourself who realize how hard it is to be a great rhythm player. Rhythm players are greatly under appreciated especially ones who can sing and play at the same time!
Dear Premier Guitar: This is a great idea. Ola Englund is a badass guitar player. That being said, could you please have someone test these amps with a six string and half step down tuning? Tuning waaaaay down doesn't give a very good representation of how the amps sound when played by the majority of the people who might actually buy these amps. I'm not knocking anyone's musical choices, but a greatly detuned 7 string makes it hard to judge an amps tone.
your comment makes sense but its not true dude, it may not be your tuning but you get a decent representation my dear. and let the artists play in their own tunings. anyone has a different tuning nowadays.
That's Ola's Custom and isn't on a production line so it isn't going to be sold to the public unless he turns it into a signature model. So it isn't in these demos! Hope this helped.
I'll admit, that's actually a pretty good point lol. I definitely didn't think about it that way. Well, in either case, my point is that there's really no reason to come on these videos just to hate on people/bands/fans because in the end, it's not going to influence anyone else's opinion. Anyways, let's just stop arguing now. I hate arguing over the internet...
If anyone wants this kind of tone on a lower budget, check out Salvation Mods! Really cool manufacturer in the Czech Republic. He makes MTS modded preamps, including a Diezel clone. Around $230 for the module, $300-$600 for a chassis, same for a Poweramp. Beats the price of a $4,000 head
Well, they are only compatible with certain amp heads by Randall and Egnater. So, you would either buy a head such as an RM50, which has slots for the modules built into the amp, or you could run it through a Randall or Egnater rack mount chassis such as an RM4, in which case you'd need to have a separate Poweramp like a Mesa Strategy 500, which you would connect to simply from the output of the RM4 (or whatever chassis you are using) and then that Poweramp would plug into your speaker cabinet.
Compared to the Marshall demoed previously, this amp has a bit more treble in the EQ section. Otherwise, the tone is the same. So the Marshall is obviously a better choice because it costs way less.
yeah you're right. you butted in and i had to annoy you. my bad. saw your page hows thats douglas 7 string? hows the neck and fretwork? wanted to pick one up or a ltd m17
First time I see (and listen =) about this amps..And they kick ass! Yes , I totally agree with you, it seemed to me that those rich clean sounds were those of instruments different to a guitar, very tight and clean..And nothing to say about the dark side... Surely I posted the video to my bandmate and friends , and ..if they were available in Argentina, probably they will be our election... Awesome amps!! Starting from the brand name: Diezel!!
They should've let Ola record these amps his way, it would have sounded a lot better. Also, FYI he DOES play way more than just a single string or even two... there's a quick solo lick in there, and obviously plenty of clean stuff too. LOL at short-term memory loss in some of these ppl
My phone doesn't allow me to reply directly. So to mrsavagerocks if you want see someone play the hell out of 1 string or 2 check out Kerry King's riffs... and Metallica's riffs. Sometimes monostring riffing is just necessary for a song... you can't seriously believe that that determines one's aptitude for playing or writing music
Omituinen Otus well, I have downsized my budget in favor of putting the extra cash towards buying a house since I posted this comment. though I recently had the chance to play through the evh 5150 III 100 watt and it sounded amazing at any volume, even volumes I could easily talk over. with that said, I will most likely be getting an ENGL Fireball 100 though.
Actually, yes, Diezels sound exceptionally good at low volumes. They'll benefit from being able to push more air from a higher stage volume, but they definitely don't lose anything turned down. I used to own an Einstein and have played through a VH4 extensively. They're excellent amps.
While he was playing the 7 string I saw him using 4+ strings while playing chords, sounds about right for metal. When he uses the 6 string he utilizes all six strings, so I don't know what demo you were watching where they only played one string, but if you think you can do better TH-cam certainly invites you to post videographic evidence.
How is it drop a if he is a full step down? That would make it a standard and no longer have a the dropped chords on the 7 string. So ya regular 6 string with a low A. I tune a half step lower than him and started learning devil in white by ear and my guitars is to low by a half step, don't argue with tuning haha
Alright I actually won't complain about this one. I'd still EQ it differently but this thing has a nice, characteristic tone that isn't drowned out. So, that said, gimme.
5:12 Ola: NO!!!! IT HURTS SO MUCH... PLEASE, LET ME STOP PLAYING CLEAN CHANNEL ON DIEZEL! LET ME PLAY SOME MESHUGGAH's STUFF ON IT! MY FINGERS ARE BLEEDING! 6:00 Ola: Finaly...
I was definitely pleasantly surprised by it. I had to make some small adjustments to the action and the pickup height (the stock pickups are WAY too hot). But other than that, the neck is stellar in my opinion, it's a tiny bit thicker than an Ibanez neck, which makes it great for both chordal and solo stuff. The frets feel really nice but there is still some buzz that you get (mostly restricted to the first fret). Definitely a good guitar though, especially for the price! Feels like an ibby IMO.
People saying this amp is designed just for metal are wrong, you can get any sound you want from this amp, I am glad I went for this. Good to hear. I wanted to see the versatility it offers
@@Stahlgewitter wow, 11 years ago I commented. Still got my d-moll and it’s still amazing!
Ola is one bad ass player. He makes any amp sound deadly.
hello I'm a blues guitarist I like standard tuning and clean channels with a bit of fuzz I'm here on a video titled monsters of high gain watching a metal guitarist and id just like to complain about him not playing a six string and playing something that doesn't sound like hard rock from the 80s

This is the heaviest amp I think. Not necessarily the best or well rounded, but brutally heavy.
pretty much the best to me.. it is brutal and clear at the same time :) and sits perfectly in a mix..
Sounds great no doubt, but check out the silverblade hell hound 50
I agree definitely. I'd rather keep my JVM for versatility, it's awesome, but Jesus Christ this Diezel is just stupid for metal.
@Underdog True, I really dig the clear cleans, this makes it for me the perfect allround Amp.I got one instead of a JVM 😋
CONCLUSION: out of all 7 seven amps, Diezel D-Moll is the most metal
I just came here (to a video titled MONSTERS of HIGH GAIN) to bitch about him not playing in standard tuning or on the clean channel.
I just play on one at Guitar Center yesterday and the clean channel on this amp is actually really nice it's a crystal clear clean I might go back today and buy it for 2200 I was hoping to plan a mark 5.

@@nuke1upgames Definitely get the Dmoll man. It's a killer amp.

I love how Ola nods at his guitar as if to say "OLA IS PLEASED BY YOUR METAL."
Diezel wins.
wouldja look at that. They actually picked a guitarist who knows how to EQ an amp this time.
what's awesome about the diezel tone is when you dial it back some and keep the levels right it's ridiculous. It's like a silkier approach to that tone the mesaboogie dual recto brought. one of the few high gain amps with a really great clean channel. I'd love to get one of these.
awesome sound..
Man this sounds good! Them Germans man, they're building some wicked stuff right now. Wow
Fuck I know! I rarely hear people like yourself who realize how hard it is to be a great rhythm player. Rhythm players are greatly under appreciated especially ones who can sing and play at the same time!

+Ben Kerley Yes. Drop A is considerably lower than E flat/D sharp. The fact you use an 8 string fart machine doesn't make your point valid.
if the amp holds the bottom end together tuned to G..your good.
Agree
bigdbrew cool well said I play a step and a half down been a while as well I got a great tuner thumbs up dude

Hi Thanks for sharing this awesome company!! Could you tell me how it works to connect the modules to an amp? (sorry newb question)
Well, they are only compatible with certain amp heads by Randall and Egnater. Wow Ola chuggs! I like his older videos from 10 years ago before he had a beard and when his nose was way smaller.
i want this Blackat Leon 7!!!! where i could buy this awesome thing? =) i dont find it on the internet since many weeks =(
no duncan black winter pickups?
first time im hearing Ola's normal voice! VIKING !!
why did they decide Ola over Keith Merrow? No disrespect to Ola, I love his stuff, but I was wondering about shipping costs and how similar the 2 are
Compared to the Marshall demoed previously, this amp has a bit more treble in the EQ section. Otherwise, the tone is the same. So the Marshall is obviously a better choice because it costs way less.

Awesome amps!! Starting from the brand name: Diezel!!
They did it already in the previous Monsters of High Gain.
I'm familiar with the Herbert, a great amp. How does this compare to it?
whats a riff in 1:27 min?
improbised brother
Diezel D-Moll is my favorite!!!!!
Doesn't tool use diezel ?
Diezel sounds the best for my taste.
gain at 3 and such a monstrous sounds? i am really asking myself if i did the right decision with my h&k triamp....
this and the evh are the two best!
They should've let Ola record these amps his way, it would have sounded a lot better. Also, FYI he DOES play way more than just a single string or even two... there's a quick solo lick in there, and obviously plenty of clean stuff too. LOL at short-term memory loss in some of these ppl

Diezel and Mesa!!!
can this amp get modern metal tones similar to what's in the video at bedroom volumes
I don't own one, but judging from the fact that it's a tube driven head, i would say no..

No way!! Guitar world totally sucks at metal reviews! I'm glad these guys understand...
Cool is this just the gain from the amp? or are you using a pedal in front? Cool thanks for the video !
Are you wearing a mercia t shirt? From the Rochester new York metal band?
I wish they would have used a control cab for all these...
Am I the only one that doesn't mind them using matching cabs? It's the rig they were intended for and will likely be bought with
That amp is everywhere. Whats the point?
Real question... is marshall of diezel?
It's between the Diezel and EVH III for me!!!
What kind speakers are in the cabinet?
6:43 THIS is the best tone of this review :D
how did you come to that conclusion?
ive heard the new amts also have a ton of gain, you guys should include them next time :D
"Built for Laura."
Is that Laura "Valve Queen" Miller, by any chance?
nope. the B string is simply detuned to A, upper 6 string are in E-standard.
Diezel , EVH , orange son los mas fuertes , marshall no satura mucho y el resto estan en algo intermedio pero sin dudas me compraria el trasher !
para ritmo esta pesado los amplificadores que mencionastes, pero para solos no hay nada como marshall....

This has the most gain out of the Amps chosen
I wish I could swap my Einstein for one of these. Diezel have sorted everything that the Einstein has 'wrong' with it.
Is this the same one that Adam jones uses?
Philip Taylor He uses a VH4 from the early 90s :)
At least someone is playing metal in these demos not like those last two djent players from last year or whenever it was
sick as shit. is this an actual song? I NEED THESE TABS!
it is indeed, the song on the 7string is forever old by his band feared not sure about the other stuff though
thanks
I agree. 7 heads and 7 different cabs. Makes sense. ha ha
Holy shit, is that a Mercia shirt as in Mercia that's from 585, NY? As in this Mercia?? As in user MerciaMetal?? HOT DANG
How is it drop a if he is a full step down? That would make it a standard and no longer have a the dropped chords on the 7 string. So ya regular 6 string with a low A. anyone knows the song starting at 5:39?
he plays for a band called Feared.
5:12 - Clean
6:00 - Distortion
maybe because this is a rewiev of a hi gain amp.I know what you mean but they are built for metal
Alright I actually won't complain about this one. I'd still EQ it differently but this thing has a nice, characteristic tone that isn't drowned out.
So, that said, gimme.
did it occur to you theres other bands at those shows that i could of went for? but you know everything oh wise one.
OLA!
I like the Diezel and ENGL
i like engl a little bit more
5:12
Ola: NO!!!! IT HURTS SO MUCH... PLEASE, LET ME STOP PLAYING CLEAN CHANNEL ON DIEZEL! LET ME PLAY SOME MESHUGGAH's STUFF ON IT! MY FINGERS ARE BLEEDING!
6:00
Ola: Finaly...
Wow, very nice amp.
Damn, gain on 3 at the start. That's a lot of gain.
Wow @OlaEnglund what a long way. You looked like you were bored to do these kind of video at the time.
Diezel rules !!
what is guitar coming to..
Diezel makes all other amps like toys)
Dat clean tone :O
Lets Ola make vídeos his way :(
try bugera 6262 !

what did they release lately? a 1000th rectifier review is not necessary
Who is Laura? :)
have you tried watching the whole vid? he even use a six string, playsleads and also classical thrash riffs...
Valid point mate. \m/
Voice of the Soul!!!!! :D
This is kickass
where is the randall satan?
d standard is not that low... and seven strings become more and more important, so it's good to see both-
very intro song?
OLA! OMFG WOWWOOWOWOW
