The music uses so many leitmotif and considering it's a 5th year anniversary for the game it makes sense Really cool optional fight to fight your own team as your own team so makes sense they went this hard on the soundtrack
ok but like what is the time signature doing…is that alternating 5/8 and 7/8…between this and the wasps, i’m pretty sure tristan loves weird time signatures
@PhantomAarantula funny part is just when I think I'll probably not play it again. My next playthrough Is even more than the last when I get through more of the content.
I saw someone beat the fight itemless and hard mode by spamming deep taunt and stacking all the defensive badges they could onto Kabbu like super blocks and heal, including the "do nothing" badges and favorite one for extra charge. They also had Leif spam icicle rain with danger badges and charges for serious pain. It was incredible and makes me wish I had skill in blocking
Good ol' Do Nothing medals. Those alongside the other really powerful medals can make even the most damaging attacks ineffective. Stands to reason that people already have been able to use those medals to make Team Snakemouth's boss fight bend the knee.
On TUFFBUGS even the most defensive builds eventually crumble against their attacks. I had to utilize a very heavy freeze stall strat using danger Leif, and even then eventually freeze stops working so you need to play a lot of things smart
Came back to this game after this update, and decided to take on the boss rush challenge. By the end though, I saw that I had *three* fights left, one of them starting with Wasp King. I knew about the mirror Snakemouth fight, but surely, they couldn't- They were. After fighting Hoaxe again, I had to beat mirror Team Snakemouth to finish the boss rush. Granted, I've won against them before with a pretty strong Kabbu tank build, so I eventually won. Still, the fact they added these guys at the end of the boss rush is crazy. Even if I got 913 berries out of it.
I was just scrolling through youtube to find aomething to watch the other day, just to see Tristan Alric post a new song to the ost. Also, would recommend playing another repeat playthrough, bunch if cool smaller changes added to the game.
Been playing through the game on my own time actually. I wonder what it says about me when I noticed something as minor as a new camera angle in Snakemouth Den while platforming.
I used a strategy called "Zombie Bugs" (Miracle Matter Kabbu/Miracle Matter Vi + Lifecast/2 HP Core Leif) to beat this boss itemless (Normal version, not EX). Getting Status Effects like Sleep or Freeze onto Kabbu is REALLY important to prevent him from Taunting which puts you into an awful position with Zombie Bugs. You need good luck to beat this fight, but it's totally possible. Team Snakemouth has to be the toughest boss in Bug Fables by far.
Just managed to do it by having a battle of attrition grabbed chompy w/ pink bow for extra chip damage, reset the fight till i got Maki as my helper Deep taunted with Kabbu every turn, and did nothing on Kabbu with liefs turn Vi was there to use stashes in case i needed it, or for a bit of extra chip damage My badges were all defence oriented, and I took them out in order. Had a few close calls with E. leif since E. kabbu gets favorite one, though his ice rain isnt too bad to superguard so i lived
Just finished this fight and the EX version, absolutely hard fight but I had a fun time returning to Bug Fables, and the new medals are cool Last Wind absolutely made danger strats more enticing to use over Poison strats
when i went into this battle with the spy tech thingy (the thing that allows you to see enemy stats without spying) i saw that vi has 1 def and 70 health, leif has 1 def and 70 health and last but not least, kabbu has 2 def and 90 health (mind you, that is for standard battle and not the EX version.)
The way I took out the boss was by having all my damage on vi with multiple attack transfers and last attacks, kabbu with a bunch of bulk using defense transfers, and leif on bubble sheild support with life cast and double healing. I noticed that they only blocked after the first hit in multi hit combos, so I typically got a lot of value from normal attacking with vi. Lief would bubble sheild her as much as possible due to her dying in two hits, and kabbu would act as a last stand if things went bad. I took out vi as quickly as I could, typically taking her turn with sleep needles, and my vi had so much damage I didn't have to worry about her getting revived for more than a turn. Plus with a miracle matter on vi and so much defense I could take no damage with kabbu it turned into a war of attrition when I took vi out. The only times I failed the fight were when lief ice rained kabbu as last one standing, and I missed a block, getting chained into being frozen multiple times and dying instantly. Great superboss, defenitley the hardest by far. I'll have to go back with new strategies and try out the new badges on them.
I put this on another vid, but… My concern/thought… if you do the Boss Rush mode, would it end as before? Or would you the player be expected to do THIS fight after the EK and still succeed?
yes, you will fight them after hoaxe, i really hope that a future update gives you a tangible reward for clearing EX (maybe an upgrade to We Owe Ya! that lets bosses attack)
Can we just talk about how good the music is for this fight?

11/10 game.
Gotta love how boss Lief can take out half of your party’s hp even if you perfect block
Lore accurate Lief
tried it with hard hits + ex single fight + the hard mode medal and he straight up one shotted my team 💀
@@nonymouswisp8176 Guess who thought it would be a great idea to try beating this boss on their first time on a completed TUFFBUGS file on EX mode
Thanks to this update. I'll move it up on my list of games to play/replay. The nee badges and bosses look fun to use.

did the same thing with kabbu lol

... I didn't know Block Heal did that. That is pretty strong.
If your HP falls to 0 during certain attacks, Block Heal can grant 1 HP if you Super Block the last hit, too.

I don't think you could have made that fight more down to the wire if you tried. Fantastic work!
Do we know how much hp they have yet?
70 HP, 1 defense on Vi and Leif and 90 HP, 2 defense on Kabbu.
@ ON REGULAR MODE bro ex sounds insanely hard glhf on that one
How much HP does _Team Snakemouth_ have? It seems like they just never go down
@Dooty-Doot According to others who fought them with Spy Specs, 70 HP and 1 Defense to Vi and Leif, 90 HP and 2 Defense for Kabbu.
