I love the way you combine criticism and hate towards aspects of The Sims 4 with lightheartedness. It makes it FUN, while still calling EA out and not denying the truth. 😁
I maintain the opinion that The Sims 4 needs to change their "lowest specs needed" information. To play The Sims 4 without lag you need a pretty high end gaming PC. And I don't mean a high end gaming laptop. I mean like a full blown professional gaming set up. However even with that amazing gaming PC the sims themselves will still take 1000 years to start a new task. So although the epic PC fixes the FPS drop issues, the simulation lag is unavoidable.
I mean they made the shitty world (reason we downgraded from open world) gaslighting us that it won't lag and will be better experiance for people who game on laptops... well clearly now that was not the case
@@jimmyneutron129 They did it with The Sims 4 Legacy Edition in 2019. So they could definitely do it again. All the DLC prior to University works with Legacy Edition. All packs after that point required high spec computers.
My niece and I were literally just talking the other day about how a lot of simmers who do builds on TH-cam often furnish and decorate the homes too perfectly. Like they’ll literally complain that certain items don’t have matching colors or that certain items don’t fit an aesthetic. We were talking about how unrealistic that is. The only homes I have ever seen that were furnished and decorated that way were 1) homes that were done by the real estate agency so they look good for photos and open houses because they want to sell the house or 2) houses that have been professionally redone by a designer with custom furniture or 3) wealthier people who have furniture custom made. Otherwise the vast majority of people’s homes I’ve ever been in generally have a mix of colors and themes because people buy what is available. Perfect example was when I was looking to buy a new bed. I went to several furniture stores in my town and also looked online. The bed I settled on ended up coming in one color: black. I didn’t know that at the time that it was limited to one color. Now sure I could have chosen a different bed, but it had already taken me awhile to decide on that one. And yes I could have bought paint and repainted it, but that’s way more work than I wanted for just my bed. So I bought it along with a tv stand that looked similar in style and also came in black. There was a bookcase there that I went back a few days later and bought because it was similar in style. A few months passed and I ended up needing a dresser. Went back to that store and none were the same style. Went to other stores, looked online...nothing matched. So I ended up shrugging it off and bought a simple wooden one from a thrift store. Doesn’t match. And I could literally go through my house that way. Same goes for a friend of mine. She inherited her husband’s parent’s heirlooms along with some heirlooms from her step-mom’s family. They certainly don’t fit any of the aesthetic of her house, if you believe there is one. I mean, she had a sofa from the 1960s with floral patterns, a tall lamp that’s lime green from the 1970s, a chair that’s a dark brown from the 1980s, her drapes are lavender from her previous house, her coffee table is a Dr. Who themed one she was gifted from a friend, she’s got her husband’s family’s heirloom rocking chair from the early 1900s, there’s photos of family from different decades all over the walls along with things themed Van Gogh’s Starry Night (a framed image, some knicknacks, etc....the Starry Night thing started as a gag at her first apartment and every time she’s moved someone gives her yet another Starry Night themed item for her new home....she now owns her house so I guess the collection ends now). And that’s her living room. She has a Harry Potter themed bathroom, but that’s just a rug, light switch, and bath curtain the rest of the bathroom had all kinds of other items like a swan toothbrush holder, the wallpaper is blue with sailboats, etc. Most people I know live in houses that have personality. They’re not matching and one aesthetic all the way through. So when you made the comment about builders decorating perfectly it reminded me that my niece and I were literally just discussing this and basically agree. Not that we don’t love them for trying to keep an aesthetic and color theme, etc, but in real life people don’t move into homes and just have access to whatever they want. And some companies don’t make items in certain colors for any number of reasons. Like my bed. The company makes things in black. That’s it, the bed frame, the bookcase, etc come in black. They don’t offer it in any other colors. If I wanted it in another color either I have to do it myself or pay someone else to do it for me. I appreciate them for trying, but whenever I watch and hear “Oooh there’s no matching swatch” or “oooh there’s nothing in that theme” or “that doesn’t match the aesthetic” and so they don’t use whatever item it was, I think to myself that most people can’t afford to be that picky and even if they can that’s usually because whatever it is was custom made for them. Most of us have heirlooms, items that have been passed down to us, items gifted to us, items we found either at thrift stores or whatever was trendy at regular stores at the time in our area. And we accept that. I think that’s the real challenge and I think you showed that in this video. Am I upset because you used counters from a different pack or a toilet from a different pack? No, because realistically if you were furnishing your house and you went shopping at different places at different times you’d buy what you were missing for another room. I mean, we don’t all buy our toothbrushes from IKEA or some other furniture store. We buy them from someplace else. So why expect to pick up the toothbrush cup, etc at the same place you’re buying the sink or toilet or shower or wallpaper or tile or carpet. And you say you’re not a builder, but you definitely decorate really well even in a challenge!!

My childhood room depends on at what point in my childhood, but the one I remember most vividly (furniture wise) was the one I shared with one of my sisters from the time I was a preteen until my mid teens. The bed had two beds, one being a loft bed and the other having tall endboards with fancy styling. They were both darkish, but not the same tone of brown. We did have matching cover sets (?), but not matching sheets (by cover sets I mean the top layer that covered everything else, not sure what it's actually called, but that's not it). There were two bookshelves. These were not similar in height, style, wood type, the fact that one was made of more than just wood, width, or anything else. As adults, my sister and I still each have one of these bookshelves. Hers is the tall, thin one made of wood and screws. Mine is the short (ish, it's over five feet tall), wide one made of wood and cinder blocks. We had two different chests of drawers. I honestly have no idea what hers looked like. I think it was under my bed (I had/have the loft bed), but she also had an actual chest under there, so I'm not sure. The chest was a padding covered chest and it's color matched my yellow chest of drawers quite nicely (the chest of drawers, as I understand use to belong to my grandparents or something like that. It definitely was made for a baby's room as the drawers were lined with a wallpaper like lining that looked straight out of a nursery). In addition we had a desk. This desk was in a color somewhat similar to all the other wood in the room, but not matching. There was a computer at some point which was . . . big. We also had two doll cradles. They did not match anything else in the room. The closet contained mismatched two chests, one made of wood and one of bright yellow plastic. The floor was covered in . . . unknown, but lots of our belongings. I generally climbed on the chair next to the desk to get on the desk and then from there climbed on my dresser to my bed. This was not the way the furniture was meant to be used, but my doll bed was at the foot of my bed and I certainly couldn't step on it. I cannot at the time tell you if there was actual floor space there. If there was, it wasn't much.
I mean tiny living had so much potential I absolutely agree I would have loved to have seen them include the mini fridge I know it wasn't Discovery University but they also could have included it in tiny living. I would have liked to have seen half sinks. Sinks you can put on over the toilet. Also they could have had that combined bathroom they had in the Sims 3 Island Paradise that would have saved some space too. Japanese bathtubs. Which they could have reused the animation from spas to do. Smaller fridges but taller like European style. Smaller stoves, smaller stove tops like maybe half or single stove top portable stove top etc. And they could also have made like compact kitchens which is actually a thing but it would work similar to how Island Paradise toilets worked. But I especially would have wished for half sinks and being able to put sinks over toilets or even just have them built in some of them.

I feel you. When i play sims, i mostly build, so i mostly see packs from a builder-perspective. And i love the ästhetik of Parenthood, but it such a strange mishmash of stuff. And most of the stuff dosn't really match a lot in the Sims 4 xx. And yes, cat&dogs ... the first and only pack i preorderd, because is love animals BUT i can't play this pack whitout mods. Because pets are ALWAYS sick, and when i have pets i always put the independent trait~, because pets are just so feaking needy. Even the shortest Walk for dogs, takes SO long and ... they don't pee when i take walks with them. I just don't get this pack ... but the building is nice~. I use the WIndows of this pack and of Seasons all the time.
idk im pirate so i have everything in the sims 4 and + mods (not a lot now, but was time when i had 20gb of cc and mods) and it has never lagged. i dont even have a pc, it's laptop and + it's not even gaming laptop, ordinary. i play with low graphic and etc. but i play with high distance and in the windowed mode and it doesnt lag that much. sometimes, but i just click the menu and then back to the game and everything is ok
I feel like every DLC in the Sims small or big is just like a trailer for the real thing. Like they just scratched the surface and gave us 3 options out of milion, and the more DLC they are putting out the more boring it's becoming and once you played it that's it, you move on. I like building much more than gameplay and if it wasn't for CC and mods I don't see myself playing at all. We all like the the Sims but come on it could be sooo much better, plus it costs so much and it gives you so little.🤷🏻
Yeah Mine isn't either, but then again i don't have all the dlc 😅 i guess it's that. Plus of course i have a Mod that fixes some of the Performance issues
I agree with the parenthood thing. I wish it came with more. The family activity board is cool but really only sets curfew and some random pictures. More parent kid interactions would be amazing!
I ended up buying Jungle adventures coz this bih loves a good plant lol but there's bare minimum in bg. I was disappointed to find out the plants from jungle adventures kill your sims with bees and spider bites. I mean it does make sense I guess being as those plants are literally from the jungle 😂 I got the plant kit for the same reasons tho I was much happier. I don't visit Selvadorada coz I don't want my sims to die! Amongst all the things that would make me excited to play again It would be zoo animals first ( or cars ) The latter being more essential but give me an elephant and i'll cry for days lol Also more recently I've heard some talk about roller coasters?!! That would be top of my list also. The thing is it's hard to get very excited coz every pack atm has been released buggy af but who am I kidding? I love this game we all do. We're all in this toxic relationship together...
I personally love Tiny Living but I love it from a player perspective. Micro homes are so OP it’s ridiculous. I definitely see the complaints with build items though. So much wasted potential. That’s mostly what Sims 4 is though. Wasted potential.

In my opinion, Star Was pack is the worst so far. I wanted Chewbacca and r2d2, but I got it in bundle that was on sale, so effectively I got it free. :p I don’t have the kits & probably won’t unless I can’t get them at least almost free ($8 in Australia). We’ll I have 1 kit and that was free too 😂 We’ll I pretty much full price for most of TS4, TS3, TS2 & TS1 + dlc, I think after $1000’s we’re entitled to some free things, not forgetting that spa thing for the anniversary |-(
i really want to buy parenthood for the childrens cas and the amazing counters but i just can't wrap my head around how little gameplay there is. like sure you can do school projects or discipline your kids. but theres no world and worlds are one of the things where im like "it has to have a world". and my only exceptions are seasons and dream home decorator, plainly because seasons changes every world and that the dream home decorator build/buy is so good and i love it as a builder. but im not sure what to do. parenthood is so hyped up but im only 15 and i have like NO MONEY because i spent it all on other packs LOL. sooo idk if its worth it. im thinking i might just get that sims 2+expansions thing on mac because the mac app store sells the actual game but im so conflicted with parenthood. edit: i have growing together, but somebody please convince me to get parenthood because i really need to know what ACTUALLY comes in the pack frl
I agree that you do not need My First Pet Stuff. I will admit that I have it, but in my case it was bundled with Cats And Dogs on Steam while also being on sale (I only get packs when they're on sale). So basically, yes, My First Pet Stuff is not necessary. I don't use it because the hamster doesn't do anything. It's not even like having a pet at all, it's just something that's inside of the cage thing you plop down. I don't really see the point of it and I find the cage to be ugly. I very much enjoy Cats and Dogs, though, and it's fine without the stuff pack.
I never thought about it before actually, but I think the point of the murder- I mean murphy beds is that they can be used to create a room that can function as both a bedroom and a living room... _though..._ *_if_* you intend to watch TV on the couch/bed machine thing that may kill your sim at any moment, you'll need a big TV. lol The first time I tried to use a murphy bed btw, it was bugged to consistently kill my sim every time he used it, so I promptly downloaded a mod by Icemunmun that removes the murphy bed death. lol
Poorly executed is one way of putting it, I would also put it as underwhelming, like I am sorry EA I get the feeling that your trying to scale back expectations, but we are at the point where living up to the hype would be having the kids stuff in parent hood be on par with the kids rooms in Flip This House.
What about trying to build a good house, only using Stuff Packs? But fair warning, the window options aren't that great if you're trying to build a normal house.
Parenthood adds some nice things, but I wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it. I bought it when it was in sale for $10, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it.
Bruh your not the only one with the game lag on console you can barely go into build mode and come back out cause the game lags so bad and you have to reload the game and I dislike the dine out as well . Cause you go out to lunch on friday at noon time and by the time your done eating it’s Saturday around 10am takes like 12 to 14 hours just to eat smh . Great 👍 video .
We all get lag so annoying you then try to close the game and it won’t close because it asks you do you want to quit and hat print doesn’t load when you have a lag spike so yeah gotta reset your pc
u are in fact not the only person who gets that lag lol i noticed it only goes away after i move/delete all of my old saves + delete localthumbcache but it still always comes back after i play the same save for a long time
The execution of MFP is what makes everyone hate it. Its literally DLC for a... DLC. Imagine paying $10-14 for hamsters that are pretty useless (and should have just been added to cats/dogs), and perhaps the worst build/buy items. You don't really have to play with it to hate it. -Someone who owns MFP

i have found out that we can make pets pee by clicking on the ground while walking

I don't visit Selvadorada coz I don't want my sims to die! Amongst all the things that would make me excited to play again It would be zoo animals first ( or cars ) The latter being more essential but give me an elephant and i'll cry for days lol Also more recently I've heard some talk about roller coasters?!! That would be top of my list also. The thing is it's hard to get very excited coz every pack atm has been released buggy af but who am I kidding? I love this game we all do. We're all in this toxic relationship together...

I personally love Tiny Living but I love it from a player perspective. Micro homes are so OP it’s ridiculous.

For the lag, you can write "fps on" in the cheat bar... that's how I do it👌
I had lag too, switching of mooncicle effects and other gameplay pack effects helped a lot.

In my opinion, Star Was pack is the worst so far. I wanted Chewbacca and r2d2, but I got it in bundle that was on sale, so effectively I got it free. :p
I don’t have the kits & probably won’t unless I can’t get them at least almost free ($8 in Australia). We’ll I have 1 kit and that was free too 😂 We’ll I pretty much full price for most of TS4, TS3, TS2 & TS1 + dlc, I think after $1000’s we’re entitled to some free things, not forgetting that spa thing for the anniversary |-(
i really want to buy parenthood for the childrens cas and the amazing counters but i just can't wrap my head around how little gameplay there is. like sure you can do school projects or discipline your kids. but theres no world and worlds are one of the things where im like "it has to have a world". and my only exceptions are seasons and dream home decorator, plainly because seasons changes every world and that the dream home decorator build/buy is so good and i love it as a builder. but im not sure what to do. parenthood is so hyped up but im only 15 and i have like NO MONEY because i spent it all on other packs LOL. sooo idk if its worth it. im thinking i might just get that sims 2+expansions thing on mac because the mac app store sells the actual game but im so conflicted with parenthood.
edit: i have growing together, but somebody please convince me to get parenthood because i really need to know what ACTUALLY comes in the pack frl

I agree that you do not need My First Pet Stuff. I will admit that I have it, but in my case it was bundled with Cats And Dogs on Steam while also being on sale (I only get packs when they're on sale). So basically, yes, My First Pet Stuff is not necessary. I don't use it because the hamster doesn't do anything. It's not even like having a pet at all, it's just something that's inside of the cage thing you plop down. I don't really see the point of it and I find the cage to be ugly. I very much enjoy Cats and Dogs, though, and it's fine without the stuff pack.
I never thought about it before actually, but I think the point of the murder- I mean murphy beds is that they can be used to create a room that can function as both a bedroom and a living room... _though..._ *_if_* you intend to watch TV on the couch/bed machine thing that may kill your sim at any moment, you'll need a big TV. lol
The first time I tried to use a murphy bed btw, it was bugged to consistently kill my sim every time he used it, so I promptly downloaded a mod by Icemunmun that removes the murphy bed death. lol
Poorly executed is one way of putting it, I would also put it as underwhelming, like I am sorry EA I get the feeling that your trying to scale back expectations, but we are at the point where living up to the hype would be having the kids stuff in parent hood be on par with the kids rooms in Flip This House.
What about trying to build a good house, only using Stuff Packs? But fair warning, the window options aren't that great if you're trying to build a normal house.
Parenthood adds some nice things, but I wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it. I bought it when it was in sale for $10, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it.
I barely have any packs, because some of them are glitchy or just not enough gameplay nor do I have cc. And my game still glitches.
Cats and dogs was crap for gameplay but the build/buy items were great.
EA somehow missed the marker but also got a bullseye😂
I bought my 1st pet stuff. I don't Reay remember why , but at the time I confused the packs contet with false things.
Bruh your not the only one with the game lag on console you can barely go into build mode and come back out cause the game lags so bad and you have to reload the game and I dislike the dine out as well . Cause you go out to lunch on friday at noon time and by the time your done eating it’s Saturday around 10am takes like 12 to 14 hours just to eat smh . Great 👍 video .
What's weird to me about Cats and Dogs when I think about it is that they could've expanded upon the sole basegame pet in the *fish.*

We all get lag so annoying you then try to close the game and it won’t close because it asks you do you want to quit and hat print doesn’t load when you have a lag spike so yeah gotta reset your pc
I love cats and dogs but i never play with them because i cant control them like i could in the sims 3
the way to stop that lag is by opening up the cheat console and closing it
idk why but it works… at least for me
if your game starts to lag badly when you enter build mode, hit esc a few times and it should fix it!

The execution of MFP is what makes everyone hate it. Its literally DLC for a... DLC. Imagine paying $10-14 for hamsters that are pretty useless (and should have just been added to cats/dogs), and perhaps the worst build/buy items. You don't really have to play with it to hate it. -Someone who owns MFP
