  • Most of us are familiar with the pounding heart, shortness of breath, dizziness or other physical sensations that accompany anxiety. In meditation, we learn to use the various pleasant, unpleasant, and neutral sensations in our bodies as supports for awareness. During this live-streamed teaching, Mingyur Rinpoche will show us how to discover the joy and awareness that are never affected by life’s ups and downs.

This is gold because i always dealt with anxiety and that too from 15 years but nothing helped me as teacher Rinpoche's methods and meditation, im doing it from one month but im a changed man already, i had felt very light after 15 mins of meditation every time, my day will be smooth even if i will feel heaviness at the center of my heart due to anxiety attack
the thing is you have to repeat meditation twice or thrice if you are feeling anxious and it does wonders
Please trust me those who suffer from anxiety try it .

Hey thanks man for the honest comment. I'm suffering from anxiety now more than 2 years. Last 1 year is the worst. I couldn't even go out from home for few months. Mainly health anxiety. To be honest, i tried several times, and only his meditation techniques make me feel calm and next day feel more wonderful. But i always forget to do it in a daily basis. I was confused also that does it work. But feeling more confident now after reading your story. For last few months i can go out a bit, but still afraid to go far, I don't even go far, always scared, because I'm alone. And using medication became habit. But last 2 months i could reduce medicines specially Xanax by doing meditation irregular basis. I'll definitely now commit everyday. Thanks again man for giving me the confidence by your detailed comment ❤️

Some mental attacks cause us excruciating pain, they can be really painful. Meditation is a proven metod for us to learn how to face these enemies and eventually transform these enemies/obstacles into opportunities. Of course it's also important to do analytical meditations in order to understand the nature and the causes of these mental attacks. Having said that, I suggest that people who suffer from hard mental stress should go also to therapy. At the beginnign it's really importnant not to be alone in this fight.
Thank you Master for your precious teachings, in this time and age anxiety and depression are real problems in our society and we really need someone who has suffered from these mental deseases and learned how to get out of their grasp.
    Thank you again 🙏✨

@@deepa6947 i think he just means if you are aware of the anxiety then you are aware of being out of the river (anxiety) , so you are just fine with watching the river (anxiety) flow by. Combine that awareness with breathing and you’ll be well on your way. Do not try to stop the river (anxiety) but instead welcome it and be aware of it. Welcome it 😊

Chaaya, Vipaasna meditation practiced all over the world will give you peace of mind and release stress. . Watch"Vipaasna meditation practice English videos"on Google search engine. It is very simple-- 10 to 20 minutes focusing on the incoming and outgoing breath into the nostrils. This practice will slowly get rid of negative thoughts in the mind. Good to do this meditation early morning and night. You can sit on a chair or on the ground but do not stop the practice. Watch Vipaasna meditation videos.

    some notes from the video:
(2:035:46) purpose/end result of meditation--> freedom of mind(mind become pliable and workable)
(8:15~17:47) meditation on sensation( meditation on breath, sounds, mental recitation has been introduced in previously sessions)
(17:47~22:32) horizontal freedom & vertical freedom
    (22:33~27:08) 4 steps:
    1. watch sensation
    2. try something else: watch breath, listen to sounds, or if you were watching sensation from heart then switch to watching sensation from feet; make another emotion(e.g. anger) then watch the sensation of it; etc.-->change meditation technique
    3. step back: natural suffering vs. self-created suffering
don't look at the sensation of panic, but go behind to see the belief, the feeling of dislike, aversion, fear those derived by ourselves from the panic
    4. take a break
(27:08~27:55) "Poison transformed into Medicine" & "Suffering becomes cause of happiness": when anxiety becomes a support of meditation.

Thank you for sharing your own experience. It helps to know that you have been through it yourself. I started getting panic attacks while in a Vipassana meditation course (after having practiced for two years before)..I did not know how to deal with it at that time and could not seem to find the right guidance at the time. I became afraid of meditating. I was even afraid of concentration since it seemed to me that when I became concentrated even on breath then the panic started. I was always happy when my mind became distracted. Before this I had even considered renouncing and going to live in a monastery. But then I couldn’t even meditate any more. The spiritual path was and is still my main focus in life. I had to find new ways to practice. To calm myself. Maybe the doing something else really helped. Even if it was for two years of doing something else :). I still try focus on compassion, on loving kindness and do all I can to lead a good life. Today was one of the first times I practiced awareness of sensations again. It was nice with some guidance. I felt more ready to deal with whatever arises. With awareness, calmness and allowing it to teach me instead of be afraid and turn it into much more than it started out. But I also really like that you can just do something else if it is too much
