    This is a great explanation! Good detail, without music or extra chatter! Thanks! Instead of marking my yarn with a pen, I just made it a little bit longer so I knew that was the one that I needed to thread through.

      That definitely would have completed the video, to be sure. I do have a picture tutorial on creating the entire garland here aprettyfix.com/diy-wood-bead-tassel-garland/. Thanks for stopping by Judy :)

    Loved your video!! Does it matter whether you use cotton yarn or wool yarn?

    • @APrettyFix
      @APrettyFix  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Josephine! As long as the yarn you are using is sturdy, it should all turn out just the same.

    I just discovered your channel while searching for a way to make tassels. Beautiful job! Question... Can you give me some guidance on how to make a tassel to put through a bookmark hole?

    • @APrettyFix
      @APrettyFix  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dee, There are a couple of ways to do this.
      1. If you decide to follow this video when making your tassels, simply take another piece of yarn a few inches in length, thread a needle, and feed the needle through the tip of the tassel head (just below the knot there). Pull the needle all the way through so that you have a length of yarn running through the head. If you can picture a "T" shape, the top of the T is the yarn. Now you can take one end of that yarn and feed it through the hole in the bookmark and take the other end of the yarn and tie it. Then simply cut off the excess and add a dab of glue to the knot.
      2. You can also take a length of yarn, fold in half, feed the middle through the hole in the bookmark (if the yarn is narrow enough) and then feed the ends through the loop and pull. This is a "lark's head knot" that is often used in macrame. Then, taking the two ends of the yarn, tie them around the knot at the top (or 'head') of the tassel, cut off the excess, add a dab of glue to the knot.
      Okay! Hope this gives you a couple of ideas to work with :)
