I am so happy to have picked up your videos again. I have been seeking gentle videos and yours is especially filled with soul food. God Bless.
Thanks Sandra! And welcome back!😊 I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos and pray that they are bringing something meaningful to your life. Blessings to you🥰
The timing for this is perfect for me.
I'm so glad, Chere! Hope it helped you! Blessings🥰
Beautiful message, Rhonda! Thank you for sharing and your prayer. I think about this topic daily, on my walk with God. I’m definitely a work in progress. Many blessings to you 🙏💕
Thanks Heidi. We are ALL a work in progress. But God will continue that good work in us until it's completion. Something to rejoice about! It is good that you're taking your walk with God seriously. That's what I'd love to see more people do. Blessings and Peace to you!🥰
I’ve found that the temptation to fall into gossip is to hang out with those who participate. Flee from people who do so, or change the subject. Especially now, during this political time!!Thanks for the episode.
Amen and amen!
Hi Sue! You are so right. Gossip is something we should nip in the bud-- stop it before it starts and gets out of hand. Not hanging out with people who participate is a good way to do that. And yes, especially in this political season, we should keep a close watch on ourselves concerning this. God really focuses so much on how we handle our words. So it's something we should take seriously. Thanks and blessings!🥰
Thank you for sharing your faith. I love hearing your teachings and love hearing about your knitting!🧶 ❤
May the Lord bless you in all you do as you are a faithful servant.
Thanks for your sweet comment, Deanna! I so appreciate it and am so glad you're enjoying the videos. Blessings to you as well!🥰
Rhonda you are just the sweetest thank you so much for doing this podcast and sharing your faith it is so needed in these times. Summer is already flying by and before you know it you’ll be wearing those beautiful fall sweaters they are stunning. I love the Beverly Lewis books. Wanda brunstetter is also good. I look forward to your next podcast ❤
Hi Susan! Thanks so much for your sweet encouragement. SO appreciate it. I've seen the Wanda Brunstetter books but haven't read any of them yet. I'll have to put them on my list. I'm really enjoying the Beverly Lewis series. I just started Book 3 today! Blessings to you for a wonderful and fun summer!🥰
What a good message and reminder! I needed to hear that. All your wips are looking good…I guess that’s what we are too…works in progress. And thank you for posting pictures from Longwood. I love that place and haven’t been all year.
Take care and God bless you,
Pam in Harrisburg
Hi Pam! Yes, that's exactly what we are-- works in progress! But that's a good thing, because it's God who's doing the work! And He promises to finish it. Longwood is the most beautiful and wonderful place. Just spectacular. Hope you make it back there soon! Blessings, friend🥰
Thank you Sister Rhonda for the on time word. Glad you are doing so well at Moody. 🙏🏽❤️
God bless you.
Hi Dolly! So nice to hear from you. Thanks for your kind words and good wishes. Blessings to you, my friend🥰
Love your message today. Many thanks and God bless. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you, Jennifer!! Blessings to you as well🥰
I just found your channel and I love it! Thank you for sharing God’s word. I love your knitting projects. I am just learning to knit. I’ve crocheted for many years but am having pain in my hands, and knitting doesn’t hurt them as much as crochet does. I think it’s awesome that you are taking Bible courses online. I finished my master’s degree in theology a few years ago. I miss reading all the books that went along with it. I just love reading and learning more about God’s word! Can’t wait to watch another one of your videos.
Hi Phoebe! Welcome to the channel! I'm so glad you found me.😊And welcome to knitting! I pray the pain in your hands will be eliminated and you're able to knit and crochet as much as you want. 🙏🏽🙏🏽Wow, a master's degree in theology is awesome. I would love to achieve that, but that's a LONG way off for me. :) But who knows--maybe someday. There IS so much reading that goes with these courses-- I'm sure I'll miss it one day too. But for now, I'm looking forward to a break in a few weeks when this course is over. Thanks so much for commenting and again, welcome!🥰
Happy summer to you Rhonda. Beautiful podcast and message. I’m glad your class isn’t as intense so you can get back into reading and slow summer activities. ❤
Thanks Chebbie! Oh, me too! That last class was a doozy!😅 It's so nice to have a little time to just relax and knit or sit and read. Enjoying it so much!😂Thanks again and hope your summer is off to a good start!🥰
You are so right about behaving like a Christian! It amazes me sometimes how badly people who call themselves Christian behave
Yes, it is so unfortunate. Because our behavior reflects on Christ, we should always be mindful of how we present ourselves. Thanks for watching, Lynn!🥰
New to your channel. How lovely . It was the perfect gospel message this morning as I got ready for work.
Your Knitting projects are so lovely and inspiring
Hello Cynthia, and welcome to F&K!! So glad you found the channel and that you're enjoying it. I'm happy I could be an encouraging part of your morning as you got ready for your day!🙌🏼🥰🙌🏼 Thanks for your kind words🥰🥰
Rhonda, Amen!! ❤
Inspired and inspiring message …..thanks so much Rhonda. Your projects are all lovely!
Thanks Beverly! That's so kind of you. I'm really glad you're enjoying the videos. Blessings to you🥰
Thanks again for the devotional! 😍
Thank YOU, Maria!🥰
Thank you for the message this episode. I’m in the home stretch on the Half and Half Triangles Wrap as well. I only have 12 rows left!🎉 🎉🎉 The difficulty is that they keep getting longer…😂 Your colors are beautiful. I used the two oranges that are used in the original pattern photo on Purl SoHo’s website. This is my second one and I really enjoy having a simple knit to pick up any time I don’t have the brain space for something more engaging.
Yes!! You're even closer to being done than I am! And yes, the rows do get longer each time you make the trip back across😅 which makes it mentally more challenging! But we're getting there. 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Ohhh, those two oranges in the shawl on the website are gorgeous together. And I do the same thing-- it is my go-to knit when I'm too tired to knit on something more complicated. Enjoy the last few rows!🥰
Hi Rhonda! Loved the devotional and all the accompanying Bible verses. Great reminders for every day use🥰 Thank you!
I hope you are having a lovely summer and enduring the heat over your way. I just finished some fingerless mittens with one skein of the beautiful yarn you sent me. I’ll send you a photo. I hope we can get over your way someday and visit Longwood Gardens. Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing that video. Sending hugs your way❤️
Andrea
Hi Andrea! It has been pretty hot here, but not as bad as I had expected. We're making it alright. I would love to see the mitts you made with the yarn! And if you guys do get over this way, definitely visit Longwood-- and let me know! We could go there together🥰🥰
That would be wonderful! I’ve added it to my bucket list😁
Wer’re traveling at the moment but when I get home, I’ll send you a photo.
Hi Rhonda, I enjoyed your podcast as always. When you quoted Micah 6:8 I said it right along with you. It’s definitely a favorite of mine I memorized it some time ago and I say it aloud to myself almost daily. Also I have read the trilogy that you are reading now about the Amish. I really enjoyed it. Enjoy your knitting and thank you for sharing with us ❤️
Hi Cynthia! Oh yeah, Micah 6:8 is one of my favorites. Such a simple verse, but it says so much about what God expects of us. Very simple things He requires of us. Love Him so much! 🥰
You've read the Beverly Lewis series!?! I'm really enjoying it too. It's the first time I'm reading her but will definitely do so again. I'm just about finished with the 2nd book and have already ordered the 3rd one from our library. Thanks so much for watching the videos. Great to hear from you. Blessings!🥰
Very beautiful message I listen to every episode or watch. Do you enjoy it and look forward to hearing more
Thanks Sharon! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos. Thanks for letting me know. Blessings to you!🥰
Amen sister! If God is our father, we ought to look like His children! You always get the Spirit convicting me, lol. But I am sure I need it. If you like Amish fiction, I recommend Kathleen Fuller! She has great Amish (clean) romances aa well as some contemporary sweet and/or christian romances. I especially like her Maple Falls series which is a knitting/crochet related Christian romance series!
So well said-- we should look like our Father! Amen! Thank God the Spirit still convicts us! It's proof that we belong to Him.🙌🏼🙌🏼 Thanks for the book recommendation. I am always glad to hear of new authors-- and one who writes stories about faith and knitting together. What a great combination 😂I've definitely got to check her out. Thanks again! 🥰
Wonderful podcast , as always! Hugs from Michigan!
Thanks Rita! So nice to hear from you🥰
Your experience has happened to me and I am reminded that others will know us Christians by our love, even to people like him. In the New Century Version, verse 4 reads: They do not respect hateful people, but honor those who honor the LORD. What kind of flower was making the arches? Such a beautiful garden. Blessings.
Hi Elise! So true-- Christians should be known for our love and gentleness. I like that New Century translation of the verse "do not respect hateful people". 👍🏽That's good. I think the flowers on the arches were climbing roses. So beautiful. It's an amazing place. Thanks and blessings!🥰
❤ you live in Lancaster!? I use to live there I’ve been living in Sc for 3 years but I’m moving back to Hershey next week.
My favorite yarn shop just closed there…The Speckled Sheep. So many good yard shops in Lancaster ❤
Hi Dianne! We actually live not too far from Lancaster; about 45 minutes away. But we do get there fairly often. It is such a tranquil, peaceful place with the beautiful rolling hills and quiet farms spreading over the land. I've visited a couple of yarn shops there, but did not know of the Speckled Sheep. Too bad they closed. I always like a good yarn shop! Hope all goes well with your move to Hershey (another pretty place!) Blessings🥰
I like your show. First time I’ve caught it today. I can relate to working on different projects at the same time because I get bored knitting on just one. Would you set up closed captions? It would help me understand everything you are convey on your video. Thanks
Hi Julia! Welcome as a first-time viewer! I'm so glad you enjoyed the episode. Yes, I like having a few projects going at once, so that depending on my mood when I sit down to knit, I can choose which project I feel like working on. Good idea about the closed captions. I will check it out and see if I can get that set up. Thanks and Blessings to you!🥰
Rhonda that was an excellent devotional! I always start your video with a Bible, notebook and pencil to make note of your references. Can I ask a question about your Glenfiddich cardi? I couldn't help but think when you wore it that it sums up the Church. Right and left leaning cables, ribbing, etc. remind me of all the different people in the Church (stitches) that in turn make a beautiful garment. I bought the yarn and pattern, but I'm having a brain hiccup. I make the size of the finished garment that gives me the correct positive ease, correct? For example, if I have a 42" bust I'd make a size 44. Idk why I'm having second doubts over this. Thanks!
Hi Pat! I love that analogy about the different stitches combining to make up a beautiful garment and all the different people in the Church combining to make up the beautiful Body of Christ! That's so good!! Great insight.👍🏽 So about the Glenfiddich, I'm not a real expert on sizing (I've had my share of troubles with it), but I believe you knit the size that gives you the desired amount of ease. So yes, with a 42" bust, you'd make the size closest to that that will give you the ease you want. BUT that is IF you have the correct gauge as the pattern shows it. If your gauge is different from the gauge given in the pattern, you will need to make some adjustments. In Episodes 36 & 37, I shared about a video that helped me to determine the size to knit if my gauge was off. Her simple formula has been so helpful to me. If you check the description box on either of those episodes, there is a link to that video.
Also, for my Glenfiddich, I wanted a looser fit than what the pattern shows (which is a more fitted cardigan), so I knitted a size (or two?) larger to get the boxier fit that I wanted-- so again, depending on how much ease you want. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.🥰🥰
@@faithandknitting3994 Thanks! I did get gauge right off the rip which is very unusual for me. I will go up a size. I've never liked clothes that fit close to my body.
@@patarcher1813Sounds good to go up a size. I don’t like close-fitting clothing either-especially sweaters. I didn’t even include the buttons on mine b/c I prefer it open front and looser-fitting. So if you did get gauge you should be fine to go up a size and have it be just a little roomier. Let me know how it goes!
What Bible version are you reading from? Love your podcasts the most!
Awww, thanks so much!😊 I mostly used the NIV, but a few of the verses I read were from the NLT- I noted those from the NLT. Thanks so much for watching. Really glad that you’re enjoying the episodes!🥰
Hi Rhonda! Thank you so much for a lovely episode - such a great message today! I kept saying “Amen” out loud to myself… it was so spot on. I enjoy your podcasts so much. Combining faith and knitting… does it get any better? Looking forward to your next podcast already. 🙋🏼♀️✝️
@@contentelizabeth2226 Awww, Elizabeth, thanks so much for your encouraging comment! I am really glad that you're enjoying the channel. And yeah, faith and knitting is a pretty good combination!😂🥰 Thanks again for your encouragement-- I'm so blessed by it. 🥰🥰
Rhonda is that cardigan worked top down? Love your videos
The two cardigans I'm working on, the Vega and the Gloam are both worked top down. The Rift Tee (the pale green project) is worked bottom up. Glad you're enjoying the videos!🥰
I agree with everything you discussed! Thank you for bringing a positive, uplifting message to carry with this week.
Thank you, Lynne! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and hope it brings blessings to your week. 🥰🥰
