In this video we will uncover the truth about the FUTURE of this iconic Lego theme, and the reality of seeing a Minas Tirith in 2025, along with some smaller sets including brickheadz packs. Because there is new Lord of the Rings MOVIE being released in December 2024 - the War of the Rohirrim. This story is set 261 years before the fellowship of the ring and recunts the tale of helm hammerhand - a legendary king of Rohan. Who helms deep is named after. So what does this mean for the future of lego lord of the rings? Watch to find out, but we could see sets from Rohan and Gondor in the near future, including battlepacks and a return to iconic locations like HELMS DEEP?
And finally, we'll be analyzing the future state of the Lego LOTR theme. Will we see more sets based on the books, the new movies, or both? Will we finally get a Tom Bombadil minifigure? Id say Minas Tirith and more Fellowship Brickheadz are almost certain based on the info i gathered. its just the nature of these smaller sets that I don't know anything about yet. Lego may just choose to stick with 1 big adult set per year, but rumours suggest there is hope - and i'll take it.

I remember buying all the original line up in 2013 of the hobbit and the lord of the rings to build with my children. At the time I didn’t have kids but I knew I wanted to read them the books, watch the movies and build all of middle earth with them. I now have 2 babies. Haven’t opened a single box. I have a while to wait, but I can’t wait for that day.

I keep thinking Minas Tirith would actually be a “midi scale” version, still 4K+ pieces, in order to get detail of all the levels of the city. A Barad-Dur version of it would feel really awkward in my opinion. Still happy to get something though!

If we get Minas Tirith, then we need the entire theme brought back to include the small and mid-sized sets. We would need battle packs for Rohan Soldiers on horses, Orcs with siege builds, and Gondor soldiers. Then we need sets for Grond, an Oliphant, lighting of the beacons, and Osgiliath. This could be followed with sets for Cirith Ungol and Minas Morgul. If we do not get the bring back of the full theme, then I would honestly rather have an icons set of Hobbiton. We need an updated Bag End, Party Tree, Green Dragon Tavern, and bywater bridge along with a lot of the hobbits we don't have yet. Edoras with the golden hall would be my next wish, if we don't get the full theme brought back.
I don't get why this theme hasn't been brought back fully. Lotr is just as popular as star wars and Harry potter

Would love Minas Tirith but it needs to be big. I like Barad-dûr but I'd have been happy to pay double and it be really massive. Besides LOTR. I wish they would go back to the Hobbit and make a proper big Smaug on a pile of treasure
thats why the dragon is in there on the thumbnail - for my hardcore lotr fans, who knows - smaug sells for 200+ now

Just started this new hobby! A big Minas Tirith set with 6000+ bricks would be a dream!!
I grew up with the lego lotr/hobbit set waves, but was unfortunately too young to get them. Now the time has come :D
one sad thing for me is I am 16 and do not make a lot of money to buy these sets as a Lord of the Rings fan
At 16 you should be able to find a part time job
my cousins are 8 or 9 themselves, and we need smaller sets! no matter what age or job situation

Battlepacks would be great! They will not slaughter the cash cow and continue to release large sets. I think the next set will be Meduseld.

The scene from the Fellowship Of The Ring when four hobbits first encounter with the Nazgûl Diorama or a Giant 2000+ pieces Oliphaunt would be pretty epic.

Bit of a shame that the nazgul is only a gift with purchase since it's the only small set they've released in a long time
They could do so many cool battle packs. They could do Haradrim, Gondorian Guard, Riders of Rohan, Uruk-hai, Orcs, High Elves, and so many more. They should seize this opportunity
Lego LOTR was my childhood but since then I don’t really have anything left of my collection but with more affordable sets coming I’m happy to get back in!

Liked, subbed and commented. Hopefully with the success of Rivendell and Barad-dur Lego release waves of smaller sets soon. I got my money on Minas Tirith but they could do Lothlorien with Lady Galadriel and Celeborn which would be cool too. But we do need some "For Gondor!"
I like to think places like Edoras and Lothlorien will eventually make it into some form of set if the line continues to carry on, especially with new regular sets around the theme coming as well.

Minas Tirith needs to be HUGE! I feel like it should be an $800+ set with around 8000 or more pieces. They need to try and scale it well but like you said, have it modular and should definitely come with a minimum of 25 Mini Figs and the beasts and such. It needs to be the all out Lego LOTR set to best any other 100%! Second to this, the Vulcano where the end went down.

Minas Tirith is my dream lego set and I hope they do it justice and make it around 8000-10000 pieces and hopefully thirty+ minifigures (like the avengers tower). Getting a Minas tirith next year would be amazing, also maybe we'll get to see the witch king for the first time in lego form! Budget sets like battle packs would be nice too.
Minas Tirith would be insane; but I think they should focus on smaller, more affordable sets after back to back 5000+ piece releases. Hoping to get the Fell Beast 🙏🏼

LEGO doesn't realize how large the market is for smaller more affordable LOTR sets. There are still plenty of kids, teenagers, and adults who are fans of LOTR and The Hobbit looking for dioramas and play sets. 20-50 dollar LOTR play sets and battle packs would sell better than Brick Heads! I want a $250 Helms Deep, an Oliphant play set, and a Bag-End that can double for Fellowship of The Ring or An Unexpected Journey, with Minifigs from both trilogies included. I'm sure the new animated movie will create more kid fans of LOTR and create a need for smaller sets. Also, is anyone else bugged by the new Samwise minifigure having bright red hair?

I found mines of moria and helms deep being sold for a good price and got those along with rivendell so i think it would be neat to get more newer ones and bring the theme back.

Some great ideas in this video. For me, it's just nice to know there will be some new LOTR lego in the future. There's so many opportunities for some fantastic sets.
The gates of Moria with the watcher in the water would be a phenomenal set in my opinion.

$500 for Minas Tirith? Honestly with what we’ve gotten so far around the same price range, to do it justice I’d double that price. Minas Tirith needs to be the biggest lego *set* lego have ever done.
Id save Pelenor related sets for smaller builds - just focus on getting the city right without cutting corners.

That will be some masterpiece. I agree with the Gondor and Rohan battle pack sets. It would work and be most affordable. And the discussion of new mini figures. We now have Sauron, we need Eowyn, Angmar and more as discussed. As a LOTR fan, these are exciting times.
And if we do get Minas Tirith, they have to make a buildable mumakil or oliphaunt (elephant) to go with it.

I think you and a lot of other Lego news folks need to consider the fact that Lego’s lotr line is connected strictly to the Peter Jackson Warner Bros films. The animated movie coming soon will have its own creative liberties, therefore designs of characters, soldiers, orcs etc will most likely be quite different from the PJ films. Which means if there are sets based off of this film, some
Parts will not synergise well with the current lotr sets we’ve had over the years

I would love to see Lego make a big bag end with a couple other smaller hobbit holes included and Bilbos party down below. Also, I think Bree would be an awesome location to make the prancing pony and set up the Nazgûl in the bedroom. One diorama that would also be cool could be the top of Weathertop. Here we could get Frodo and 3 Nazgûl in their white form when Frodo sees them with the ring on. Furthermore, I think it would be amazing to get a proper Giant Shelob diorama with 1000 pieces. I would also love to see an Oliphaunt made. A Fangorn forest build would be awesome too to get Treebeard, merry, pippin, and the Orc Grishnak. Lastly, I think we could use a proper Diorama of the witch king on a much better built fell beast than the GWP and Eowyn and Merry included.
Minis Tirith would be so awesome! I would also love a remake of Orthanc so that the Two Towers would be complete.
The Lego Lord of the Rings theme has sooo much potential. I cant wait to see future updated sets. Barad Dur missed out on a Witch King minifig😢.

I think a microscale Minas Tirith in the architecture style would be amazing, but we definitely do need more minifigures, so we will see what they do. I fully expect it to be a $550 set
