So awesome the slicer kept doing multiple color swaps on the top 2 layers before this adding 5min of change for nothing at the end thank you!

Question: at time 1:20, what is the rectangular structure in the top corner? I am printing an object that fills pretty much the entire stage, and it collides with that structure, throwing a "serious" error. That structure gets added when I reslice after adding the "change filament" directive, just as it does in this video. What is it, and can I remove it?

Pretty late, so not sure if you already figured it out. That’s a prime tower, and you definitely can turn that feature off in the settings

This is misleading! This does not help change filament if you do not have the AMS. If you want to change the filament manually, you have to "Add Pause" instead of "Change Filament" and then do the Filament change via the GUI on the printer during that pause.

Does this work without AMS? Can you pause it mid print, change filament and resume?

People do it! I had some issues once in a great while with it not adhering to next filament

Yes and no. You'd think you can just add a pause, then do a filament swap, and resume. Apparently there's an ongoing glitch that they've known about for years that shifts the print laterally on resume. What works for me is add a pause, then do a MANUAL filament swap - keep temp up, cut filament, roll it back, put in new filament, roll it forward til it extrudes, then resume - and trick the printer into thinking nothing happened during the pause.

I tried this with TPU and added the filament change but it didn’t ask me to swap at the layer I set the filament change. I might try the pause .
